Are they works of art worth preserving? I say yes. I'm not opposed to moving them to different settings but that would be up to the elected reps and voters of that particular area. As I said before the only ones who can get this under control are the people who live there. Neighborhood policing is a good start, but to be truly effective the residents are going to have to start cooperating with law enforcement. The chasm there is huge and I don't know how you would begin to cross it. Used to be laws that required a cop or firefighter to live in the city. I'm sure that's not the case anymore. What it means for me? I think the problem is simple; the residents of those neighborhoods don't trust the police. They won't cooperate with investigations so the shooters are rarely charged and even less are convicted. No fear of the court system = no fear.
