  1. Good for packing on a hot day. (easy) Toggle pressure is higher than an EZ (and less responsive) but you get used to it. Using the 2-stage flare works ok for me also with 100kg passengers This is my list 1) BT80 2) Next/Twin 3) Contrail 4) EZ Well my DZ only has BT80 and Contrail I only flew the Sigma and Icarus a couple of times. First impression: About equal to BT80 but I have not enough experience with these canopy's Never jumped strong, but as they say the set400 is a copy of the BT80 I would like to try a set400 ance (Only packed in a vector or vector copy as I do not have a strong rating) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  2. PD360 and Galaxy only as a reserve. PD360 openings were rather slow (after cutaway), but worst was the deep brakesetting Leaving you rocking till you pull the brakes. Galaxy opening was FAST after a hardpull on the droque itself (ATOM rig). NOTE: Both with a passenger, so I can imagine how a basejump opening will be without passenger. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  3. I'm not a basejumper, just a Tandemmaster. I would like to try a basejump, but never with a tandemcanopy. They are designed to open relaxed with 200kg of weight. Even reserves open more slowly than sport reserves. If you really consider using a tandemcanopy as a base canopy I would suggest you try the canopy first jumping it without passenger. Make a C&P and you will know why it is not really smart (Please make this C&P from 6000ft minimum) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  4. When in doubt....... Do the magic "canopy changed color" trick! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  5. Correct: VW polo 1990 740kilograms 256000kilometers. Never broke down. 15km/liter (±35miles/gallon)

  8. This reason makes sense. German beer is a lot better than the stuff they sell in the US ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  9. Yep. Kompleet knock-out tot na de landing. Passagier losgehaakt, beenbanden losser en naar stabiele zijligging. Kwam toen weer redelijk snel bij. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  10. I got my laptop with me in freefall.
  11. Miss piggy is always a problem jumping with. Upon landing they can not lift their legs due to: 1) Too much fat. 2) Generally these people have a character: I tried it ones and it does not work, so I will not work. (At least that is my experience) In freefall it is relaxed most of the times because physics (gravity) helps you. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  12. Chest strap was already loose. Harness was an omega harness. This is roughly a german vector copy. (Personnaly I like the sigma and new Atom harnesses more) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  13. Correct, I'm dutch and I can understand afrikaans rather well. Very funny 2 people from a different country (10.000 miles apart) both speaking a different language and still understanding each other. By the way Flemmisch is a deviation from dutch. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  14. Tandemmasters what's your idea about this. Some weeks ago I had a passenger that had a complete blackout at 2000ft till after landing. I decided to land and roll to the side as soon as we touched the ground. I could not manage to push the passenger legs upwards. Passenger recovered very quickly on the ground and told me she liked the jump, only the last part..... (Passenger was not miss piggy shaped) Any other ideas/advice ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  18. I already hear! You never drove a Turbo-diesel. It will definately accelerate faster at a trafic light than a petrol car. It's not the power that matters, it's the torque (By the way you can drive your diesel car on kerosine) Oh yes I own a 15 year old VW-polo (petrol). 250000kilometers and never broke down. When driving normally 15km on a liter
  19. Sigma too high??? Pussy!!! For me doing 7 or 8 tandems a day on a Contrail tandemcanopy is the workout! Well the togglepressure is rather high but even a new contrail packs OK. Also important on a sunny day. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  20. Parachutes de France BT80, the only one I flew till now... Yes the BT80 is still my first choise if you are talking about steering and landing. Packing a new BT80 sucks like hell. 380sqft of zepo (both top and bottom) Take care when jumping a BT80 older than 4-5years. They open hard and the nose has to be rolled. The newer ones open perfect. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  22. Cadmium is restricted but still used in aerospace applications, although it will be replaced more and more, for example with nickel. Unfortunately nickel is not so good for corrosion protection. I can explain you why, but that will be a very long posting and is not relevant for this subject. It is a very good point you state and this is one of the reasons why a lot of manufacturers offer Stainless steel as an option of even standard. No Cadmium required ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
