Well I guess I should know better but the one constant whenever I get involved in a special event at Sebastian is that the wind will make its presence known in spades; The Bytch Boogie was no different. This was not the first boogie I've been involved in that I did not jump in, nor was it the first I did not even plan on jumping, so I owe no beer. I was so glad to see that all those who attended and really wanted to jump finally got a chance ( for Dagny). I think Skymama summed it up quite well, the jumping may have been slow, but the vibe was awesome. I don't know it it's just that dot commers are so freaking cool or just that skydivers are so freaking cool, but it doesn't really matter. This was a gathering of friends and a celebration. Welcome to Florida, Lisa. I would like to especially extend my thanks to those manufacturer reps who came and brought along goodies for others to play with, even though the weather held participation in demos down. Nightjumper had the intentional cutaway rig there but couldn't let it out because we didn't have a helicopter standing by to chase the cutaway mains on cross-country jaunts; thanks anyway for coming and bringing all that stuff, Mike. Kolla and Asaf, thanks to you guys too for coming and bringing your gear. No doubt Asaf had the best of it as he moved more than a couple pair of Pantz, including taking an order from me. Dang expensive boogie for me even though I didn't jump, but it's all good. Last but far from least, thanks to the staff of Skydive Sebastian for their help (and their good comments about the way the store is shaping up); Bendywendy played a large part in the fun, especially after hours -- those of you heading to the Keys Boogie are going to have a ball with her. Keith and Jeff from The Zoo Bar, the food was good all weekend, great breakfasts, and the spaghettis supper Saturday far exceeded my expectations. Thanks. Well, the winds are still kicking, but not all that badly; SkyOne just got down and said they weren't all that bad. Katiebear is gearing up and getting agroup ready. Date is set! Scott Miller will be giving his Essential Skills canopy control course at Sebastian, FL on December 6 and 7. This is a one day, five jump course that focuses on the basic canopy skills every jumper needs to learn, especially those with swooping in their future. Eight slots are available each day. Course cost is $75 plus five jumps (jumps can be from altitude or hop and pops, your choice). Start time will be 9 am both days. Preregister with The Drop Shop on the dz at Sebastian (PM me for contact info). $35 deposit is required to hold your slot with the balance due the morning of the course. Scott will also be giving a free seminar on choosing your canopies Saturday evening. Courses and seminar sponsored by The Drop Shop. I'm taking it. Who's gonna join me? I hope so, it is an excellent way to promote canopy training and saftey.....Kudos to the person who came up with the idea I'd love to take the credit, but all I did was approve it. Lisa wrote it and is implementing it. BTW, to show how much Lisa is "walking the walk", she has decided that she wants to downsize because of her comfort jumping here in Florida; however her first step was to contact Scott Miller to have him come to Sebastian and run a Canopy Control Course which The Drop Shop will sponsor and she will attend. I suspect you're right. Guess you're "restricted" to using the markup icons while composing. If you place your cursor where you want the markup to start/begin, can you insert it manually i.e. "{b}" for bold (using the proper square brackets)?
