Deva, its Levin, and he broke his ankle on Sunday! Goat will know who I am talking about. I cant believe it. He is so careful. Always. But stuff happens. I am recovering from something similar, same leg. He was running out his canopy up there in Dallas. And his talus is broken in half. Poor Baby Levin. Momma Ann worries. Truth or Dare Shyt... Getting REAL Scares the Hell outta me, Heres me anyway 1) What is the lowest you have intentionally exited an aircraft (i.e. no emergency, fallout etc)? My hop and pop -One jump B 4 graduation, about 4000 to 6000 feet. 2) What is the lowest you have gone WayLow intentionally (i.e. no loss of altitude awareness) I think 2100, ProTRack said 1800 in the saddle */- and I am thinking I got away with Stupid Shyt- Kinda Whew -Get this- Scotty Carbone was the only one who saw me and I cruze over to get something to drink and Unkel Scotty the ONLY time he has ever been quiet, ..... Says.. Ann! Where'd you PULL? I saw that! Uh.. Oh..... 3) What is the most stupid/dangerous thing you have done in freefall? In freefall? NO and then... 5) What gives you the biggest kick? not having answers to #3 & #4 ...Great Freefly form in myself, great skydives, (on film), good landings -where I dont break stuff like bones... AND mostly when my FF guys say Good Job.!!! 6) How many times have you been grounded? Technically - Never, but I did break stuff once. 7) How long is the longest grounding? I hung around the ground dwellers for about 4 weeks. Not long enough to actually heal all the way, but I jumped all wrapped up, air casted and braced -I felt like the Tin Man. 8) What do you get grounded for? Injuries- Breaking stuff, 5 minor bones. First camera jump, I flew over pine trees, See Stupid.. add this one..... I am wondering.... the thing that would be fun and is fun was the Wed night PUB. It was hard for Sangrio, I forgot why. I would like to start that up again. Slappy has a chat, there were some problems and some folks lost interest. But chat rooms are fun only when people are there and talking. brainstorming after coffee ideas: 1. I slap the slider down to the caopy with a light whip action, I stow breaks, loop my lines in my right hand push the slider on down with my left hand, jerk the canopy around a little to get the air out and then.... grab the D bag and nose and put that in my right hand with the lines looped. Then pick up the bridle and loop that around something too, my thumb. This makes my canopy look smaller and cooler! No, no, no, This is all wrong. CAnopys look cool with the inside different colors but you really cant see them too much from a standing on the ground persons point of view. You usually see a person land to the side. or the view from down below. Anyway I say the top skin of the #1 and the cross braces in white and the bottom skin of #2. Ever seen a dirty white canopy? Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, ...... Oh could I write a BOOK on this one. July 29th, I was minding my own business, flying my canopy... first jump on my new camera.. I am so proud of it I cant stand myself....... TRV11, bonehead mindwarp, top mount, just like my favorite friend who is #1 in the world..... I am so bad ass, I again, cant stand myself.......... CRASH oopsieDay.!.. ... ... Well, huh... thinking....I am not dead..... thats a good thing.... I try to get up... Nope you aint getting up says experienced jumper... Yes, I am!,.... No you are not.... blah, blah, blah.... going to have to cut off her jump suit.... I came un-freaking-glued.... I got outta my jumpsuit so fast you would thing the damn thing was on fire... Long story short... just like you wet cast, ortho/sports med... out for long time.... got back to jumping... have some minor mental weirdness about crashing again... getting over it now... My canopy was very rude that day... it had the nerve to fly over some tall pine trees and lose its air, it crashed, I didnt flare and plooped down about 4-6ft from the hard tarmac. Oh hell yes... I have the whole thing on tape.... Me saying that I am alright... I can walk... I can drive... I can leap tall buildings in a single bound.... Whew... Stupid girl..... Anyway, stuff like this you learn tons from. Like sitting my ass at home for a few weeks did wonders for my skydiving. I dont take anything for granted anymore. Not skydiving or my friends involved in the sport. It was a good thing for me. Learning experiences are good, try to avoid broken stuff. ME 5 boken things. 4 long bones in foot, one ligament in ankle ripped a bone off my tibia, now its a floater in my leg somewhere, ligments of foot are shredded into a ball in the palm of my foot, round place that hurts all the time,... Spaceland... ...What is it? ...A drop zone. There are loads of drop zones. Some better than others. Like any drop zone it has its ups and downs. I see nothing but ups listed here and thats WAY cool. I know a bunch of other people who would rank Spaceland very high as well. I learned everthing I know (almost!) about skyiving there. Of course - The Good. But the Bad and Ugly, also. I learned how to skydive to perfection by my jumpmasters. The best in the business. Chris Miller is still there. Derek left. Damn shame. Dude is awesome, I see him at another dz all the time. I learned how to be very careful on big ways. I learned how to freefly, but the freefly population comes and goes out there. About like everywhere else. And I learned how to handle getting totally ignored by SkyGods. I learned the do's and dont's of gear buying, via my horrible mistakes. I found out that skydiving is a business and sometimes people dont like to play fun. I met some of the most wonderful people on the planet at Spaceland and also at Skydive Houston. So like other dropzones, you DO have your normal SkyGods, and yes there are clicks. But the regular crowd is very decent. I used to call Spaceland my home drop zone. It is now a fully functional commercial dz. Which is really good. I guess. I am not being critical of said dz, I just dont play some games. But that is me Personally.

How is it that the minute Flea Flyer has stopped growing enough to get his rig fit ...AND we are all ready to start level 4 an actual jump.. and ......... I cant find a DZ that allows Dogs. The Houston DZ's were tolerant for as long as I have been a skydiver. Then too many people it messed up. Dogs were allowed to do certain not good things at the DZ.... Still others left their pet right where jumpers -returning from the landing area could trip over them -chute OUT. Others just ran around. Then there is the famous one who bit the guy chasing a tandem landing in the balls. Ok, Wide open for complaints about dogs. My Great Dane Skeet grew up in the prop blast. Secured so that he would not get in any trouble and get hurt. Away from everyone. Unless they WANTED to see a giant dog. He is not afraid of Airplanes, super friendly, good with baby cats, infants, regular kids and the ones who like to ride him like a horse -when I am not lookin. I could walk him up to the door of the Otter and he would get in. I am a pet responsible individual. Skeet and Flea always had water, food, toys, blankets and a huge giant 4XX Large dog bed for Skeet when we are out. At the DZ in the winter, Skeet has a red rain coat with fur lining and a black fur collar- ask anybody! MY POINT IS, I feel like Skeet is well rounded and a smart because of the exposure to people and things at the Drop Zone. (He knew my canopy! and my jumpsuit, he watched me board and land, he barked at me sometimes landing) Flea was still small when we started going to the DZ. then we did Level 1 intro to aircraft. Level 2 was propblast. Level 3 got in the airplane. Next is Level 4 jump out. But poor Flea Flyer has no Drop Zone! Skeet either and he is sad on the weekends! Anybody know of a responsible pet DZ??
