  1. Base outside of towers is a big production. The less than a handful of good guys around here have a crew with them. 99% of people dont even know its going on. Much less get invited to be on crew. On top of that, most people dont even know who the 'real' base jumpers are. Its not like you can go and do a tandem to try it. So, like stuff said here, a superb mentor is key. There are all kinds of details. Details you can read over on BLiNcmagazine.com. 1. My experienced friend jumped a tower by himself, I think he had 500 base jumps, and broke his back on a line. After four hours of crawling he made it to his truck. 2. a Houston famous type guy- Cradered his arm badly, among other injuries and he is way experienced. This Dude has barely even jumped out of an airplane. I think he has one jump from a plane. (I could be wrong) If you get on his crew, its an extreme honor. I was asked once and gave my slot to my best friend. He filmed it and its pretty interesting, but you cant see a damn thing. This is definately something you can not just go and do. Unless its a tower and then its still detailed. Most everything happens at night. If you were going to say... jump from a building downtown Houston... the guys take sometimes a week or month or more to case a building. Like a bank robbery. Where are the guards. What is the roof security. Then what is the ground security. After jump how does the roof crew get down and how many minutes does that take. Fastest way to get outta there. And on and on.. On the other hand... my friend knows of a tower that you can go up and down all day log jumping. But even in the best of circumstances there is zero margin of error. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6

ARe you OK??? LOL, hell, I regularly dont make sense. Yeah, thought he was talking about videos. I have video on my brain, lately. Quess its my new CamEye Christmas present. I cant wait to jump it and actually know if my camera is on or not. Hey, if you do get a chance to swing by - please do so. We do have tons of fun just jumping and all that goes with that. And of course, stay here at my place. Yahoooo... and bring your little dog too. The guys would have a blast running circles around the living room. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6

Hello Darlin, Welcom to the waste land. I too am capturing vids on occasion. We should talk. There are some videos on my site My First Video is good. Its under multimedia. I will ck yours and get back to you, I am sure they are great. One thing though- the rest of this gang will want you to hold their hand and point them to the link and all. You will likely have to click the mouse for them. They rather hate scavenger hunts for stuff. LOL, ..ROFLAO.... You know except me, I am ok with it Baby. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  4. Heh, besides that - I was thinking PDA meant Public Display of Affection. So, I am thinkin this Dude racked up. A big ole new ride, I could fit my Great Dane in AND some public touchy feely stuff. Just goes to show you how when somebody writes something how 5 people can get 5 things out of it. I have a Palm7 and I never use it. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6

  6. That is HORRIBLE. Not to mention bad form and rude. The bitch slap of karma is a dreadful thing.
  7. STOP using my picture at the beach on you video without written permission from me!!! Damn, I thought I lost that bathing suit. At least the top part. VIKING you little shyt!! Is that YOU? hummmm, kinda cute arent cha? Do something with my video Dude... My vid rocks socks, Man! If you worked with it you could be a hero. This is actually the only video I have ever made. I broke 5 bones on this jump. After that I kept having trouble with the freakin standby button. Tom from Elsinore sent me a CameEye II for Christmas, (and I havent even met him, huh... video cams rae good ). So that issue is resolving. I have been told by many a camera dude that for a first video it rocks huge. I have the plane in the background and the whole 9 yards. The only thing I hate about it is when I went headdown I wound up 90 degrees off from Nick. I did not take into consideration I had a rudder on my head. (its a topmounted TRV11, which is the only quality film way to go, imo) Anyway, you can see that I get unstable and I fixed that by grabbin my helmet and holding it. Then I carve back to a sit and look for Nick then he shows back up again outside of a cloud. Hey, Hey, Hey... I want my video that I shot of Nick on here someplace...
  8. I was thinkin he was total trash as well, -thinkin he got a car. I wuz gonna say, we ALL know he hasnt been THAT good. Happy Holidays to OK and everywhere else. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  9. Krispy Fried Brain Matter, Dude, ...the kitchen lighting is permanently replaced with black lights.... does your food look rather different?? Or are you used to it by now? Freaky Ketchup colors is one thing, but this is beyond an X-file. Who is the other Dude? http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  10. MOST excellent... but May 27th is a long way off... Easter rocks in Texas. Get your butts over here for some serious cool fun. NOBODY does it ... like we do in Texas. Definately bring CokeMan, Pyke, and whomever else can keep up. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  11. Oh MG, that is whacked. So, you took down the light in the room and put the beanie bags there... This took a certain degree of thought, actually. And that is what scares me about this, this ummmm .... episode... What exactly was the view of your neighbors? ...and the condition is untreatable. Your only hope is to quickly return to altitude and exit the aircraft... if this doesnt work... its grim. In the later stages of this ... rubber will be applied to the walls. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6

  15. Dude steal a way.. If a certain person didnt want you to steal em, a certain person would make em unstealable. Besides its a Public Service. You are depicting by example how to be safe by showing a cut away. And the plane dive, how to get away from a diving plane. Ok, ...that might be a stretch. But still. Are YOU AirAnn??? I get that alot. I usually follow that by looking both ways and wondering what I did wrong -this- time...OR ...Damn it, who the hell broke into my house and posted dumb ass stuff under my name!!! Here is my example on why break off matters alot. I was on a campfire hybrid once whereby ALL were excellent skydivers with over 500 jumps or more up to thousands. (Except me. But that doesnt mean that I was the bad guy here. I was chosen for this skydive because I was good. Not because I was standing around looking cute.) Anyway, a bunch of us doing a camp around 3 guys 2 fast belly flyers with one person, Tommy, standing under the 2 bellys, then us dock around that or orbit. Was the plan. It wasnt the prettiest hybrid campfire I have ever been on, and we had complications. Tommy's trying to get under and stand difficulties arose out of the fall rate issues between him and the 2 bellys. That put off and delayed everyone coming in to dock idea. But we were all coming in anyway in hopes that the base would pull it off. You put an experimental skydive in combination with this being the first skydive for this group and some guys from outta town and anything can happen. Imagine the base going to hell. I am counting 3 on Base -Joe, RW Scott, & Tommy . Then myself, Levin, Gladewater Chris, Deaf David, 2 Eloy guys-Jim and Marc. That is NINE. All of us are flying and manovering, head, stand, sit, stand, sit, head and whatever. All watching that base and each other. It still falls apart other than all of us in proxcimity to each other. At breakoff ...Marc does his thing.. head down outta there at breakoff. Textbook perfect. He tracks... now I am above him... I track to the right... Marc tracks to the right... I look up-Clear!... I track further right... (he is so small down there I dont know if he sees me or not) check again above -nothing.. Now I am in position to pull safely. I wave off and start to pull. (Any other skydive with Marc and I, I can pull above a person. -Pull and fly away, yeah.- I just cant let him pull before me or under me.) What I didnt know......is ........ Meanwhile, Tommy is above me somewhere. He was part of the base that blew up. He had tons of shyt to get out of and that put him looking around for a serious out. He had one spot available and his out was above me, I think he said he had no other choice slot but that one and then -there I was. I tracked into the spot right below him? and he tracked into the same spot just above me?. BOTH of us were looking. (remember 9 freeflyers are out there) and I am a slower faller than Marc or Tommy, yet I am inbetween. Could have been both of us or one of us. A lot of things can be said about what each of us did in this skydive, all 9 of us. Very simple to do from my living room and good 7 months later. I went to let go of my hackey and I always keep it in my hand till I clear the air above me once more before I let it go. I let go -then- I saw Tommy coming in fast as the hacky is leaving my hand. I watch him as my slider is not even down yet. As soon as I can, I grab a riser turn left. Tommy missed my canopy by millimeters. I HEARD the wind as he went past me. All he saw was a blur of purple while in deep prayer and trackin to the right. This is an example, in my life, as one skydive that never leaves you. Everybody has a story or will have one. What happend or what went wrong? Who knows, Man, who the hell knows? It isnt just usually one thing. Fact of the matter is this, all of us did what we could with what we had -and we all walled away. I could sit here all day and say .. Well, If I would have done this and one guy would have done that, then the other guy wouldnt have been here.... We flat wound up in a situation wherby our experiences and reation time for that instant was very important. So my moral of this story is ...see if you can work with it.. you got any other choices at this point? Be quick and smart about it. Try to avoid the issue before hand. If you have a skydive go to hell and you will... (on a FF) best to get outta there, knowing where everyone is and make your call based on all the info you have. Go home saying, "Man that one went to hell" like I did. Eventually we will have a 'Guilt Jump'. Better a guilt jump than a dead jump. I always wonder what would have happend if... Tommy would have tracked left as I riser turned left... OR I riser turned right and he tracked right also. I think we all know the answer to that one. Thing about it is, Tommy wonders that one too and we still are very close. So, I list my mistakes here in hopes that it makes just one of you -think. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6

You are being polite. All too common is the person not exactly where they are suposed to be. ESSssspecially when you have all sorts of skill levels involved. Here comes the do it er die sererio.. That break off is essential. The alt is previously determined. Margin of error is limited. You must know how to get in and out of situations. What Ramon is outlining here is critical. Do go into the steep track and get outta there. As much for yourself as the rest of the campers. Track away - do not suddenly lose alt or dive into anyone. As Ramon points out... the end of a freefly doesnt mean -Hey, belly time. The right of way is one thing, very true you dont want to cork into anyone or vise versa. These events happen quickly at break off, without trying you are now going as fast as you will go in this FF dive. You also are looking for above, below, left, right, in front of and behind you. Hence, 3D. How long does it take you to determine which way a guy is going to track now? Add one more guy, add one more, add one more... How long do you have? My personal break off alt is 5000, 4500 or so for small groups Or depending on landing conditions, who I am jumping with, drop zone, people factors known or unknown, dive plan solid or experimental, as well as the -Door Snapshot- or Other ... blah, blah, blah. What I call the Door Snapshot -for me- is the last chance I have to know or see where we all are on a skydive. I often look at everyone in the eye just before Door and check for attitudes or situations. Do I have a buger on my jump? Is there anyone not right? Am I not right? ARe we all clear on the plan? Is everyones gear ok? Is somebodys stuff going to blow up in my face? Or maybe do I have a buger in there someplace? Is there that one guy who is going to go off someplace where I cant see him? Did anything happen on the plane to change anyones last drill? ARe we lining up right in the door or is there a last second change? Did a guy fall out, How many seconds ago did he leave? Best to identify these choice items before you exit the aircraft is all I am saying... That way at break off you can sorta judge how you can better react to your situations. Remember how we always say an accident wasnt just ONE thing that happened?? http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  18. Lew, you got it Sister, nailed on the monkey head. From what I gather from recon and secret informants in the field- This Dudes actions are seen as stoic. Yet, Any other person trying to pull off said stunts -would be ashamed- of himself the next moring. ... Thinking that equals some sort of status that eludes the mere mortals.?. Am I looking for another number for my name, or a status under my name? I will take a number, ... I must get in line, it seems for a Chuck Blue BMW# behind Clay, et al. BMW -Blue's Mentee Wantabe is Mentee a word? mentor/mentee Sounds like mint tea. huh... http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  19. Right on Dude... I am thinking I can be off a quarter depending... So we just wait and see how we do. The way I am thinking this morning is we have to see how our reactions affect the main plan in combo with everyone elses moves. Agreed, do buy some stocks now that you feel are a mainstay. Even a couple of techs. Its all speculation right now. Its the guy who goes against what everyone else thinks that in a rare case will make the big money in specualtion. Doing what everyone else does - decreases the profit. Example: The betting on the dead horse. (LOL) If he gets up and runs and wins the pay off is going to be ratio better. It is that one guy on Wall St. who happens to know that the horse is layin on a bee hive, that will take that long shot. (as if.. that made sense) Disclaimer: I have no idea what I am talking about. I did really well in the stock market with JBL and FLEX. Buying in 1999 and selling in 2000. I felt like the the chips in cell phones technology, wireless technology for Palm Pilots, and ect. was the way to go at that point -baring any other advancement- that would be up and coming as a buy in 1999. So, bought a house with the funds and then promtly lost my ass in some other stock when I thought I knew what I was doing. Hell yes, my AirAnn port.fool.io - was all tech stocks. HEH? What idiot doesnt diversify? That would be -me. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  20. Pilot Dave- You do have a rockin site, my man. All too often people surf by and you dont really get the idea if anybody liked it or not. Its nice to get the occasional good and bad review. I know what you are saying here. Its a lot of work to get something going and repeat surfin is the best way to know if its good or interesting. You have interesting stuff. Relevant to our sport- these films do two things... Entertain as well as, the thought provoking, ever valuable question -What would I have done- , in the case of the mals. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words, in this case- a thousand campfire stories. I think, untill you see it -Its hard to know what you would do. Steal some more stuff from here. Videos http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  21. LOL - Ramon, I love you- Man... You are so fun to mess with. Dude, next time write one that doesnt work for a company in Hawaii. Yeah, thats it. That way, I will be really nice and you can use your frequent flyer miles to take me with you. Hey quit posting stuff on here that isnt relevant. Ummm, About Erics program... The best training idea he has other than the standard levels of increasing skills... Is the exit. Sounds easy right- Well for all the folks out there coaching, I suggest that you incorporate this into your program. Exit to unstable. Get your training person unstable out the door. Its a tip from Rook Nelson that is valuable in more ways than one. Recovery from unstable is paramount in freeflying. Flips out the door worked well for me. I had the dive plan down. At the last run thru before we load, my jump coach says ok, good. Now, do flips out the door and return to vRW stable as fast as you can. Heh? The good part is I (the student) didnt have time to go back and visualize the addition to the dive plan. So I (the student) had to work it as it happened. AS WE DO in real life. (in this particular dive) We saw the student had excellent recovery skills from unstable. Next... the student had to do the previously mind rehearsed skill and stay with the instructor. Then that skill is evaluated and tweaked. In my case it was transitions. I thought mine sucked. Turns out they were perfect. For some reason I didnt feel right about they way my body was tucking and spinning. But it looked on film perfect. No loss of alt. Solid cartwheel. I wonder why this is? How is it that a person can not feel good about the muscle memory of a skill and it look perfect on tape??? At first -I thought- that was a wasted jump. I was already doing it perfect and the coachs statement was do that again. Ah-hah, there it is -Keyword--Again. Did I get lucky? Maybe. Then again, I doubt it, only because I screw up every coach jump I do. (Note to Self: make sure everybody saw the tape whereby I do everything perfect) Never is a jump wasted, I did learn alot from that jump. For myself, I see myself returning quickly to vRW stable and pulling off the cartwheel from there without alt loss. But, I still think that jump could have gone either way on me. Weird thing is .. my confindence in my skills is still questioned in my head... (I need to get that tape from Eric and see what I did right) So, Does a student take that and go with it? Do you take that for what it is and add a new skill to it? Or does a student perfect it to perfection- Then... move on. ?? Could be a combo of things for the student.. Confidence? Likely true in my case. But for myself and maybe the standard student... practice is what is going to gain you that confidence in a skill and move you on to the next level. Thats what I am thinking at this particular time period... basically makin up shyt to make this post relevant to the thread. Your welcome. And I dont care if it doesnt make any sense.. my disclaimer is I havent had enuff coffee. Hey Levin do a search for your name! And dispite popular belief... the occasional Egg and Velveeta Sandwinch, paired with Lucky Charms and Diet Coke... Is not what the normal champion skydiver eats. I will let you know what is is that they do eat when I figure it out. ...-Now let me see... Hummm... Apparently it is Fried apple pies and Coffee... BAAAWAHAAHAHAHA!!!! http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6
  22. Zen, not just programmers, everyone... My field started taking hits a couple of years ago as Doctors do not get paid as much as they used to, (for a lot of reasons, I see the books) -So- as they say stuff rolls down hill. Alot of people try and draw a straight line from the Moneymaker to the Money. Everyone in the middle, is cut out to save the money. Moneymaker is what he/she is for that reason. Doctors are ordinarily good at one thing or another -surgery or business. In 22 years I have seen ONE, maybe two, who was good at both. One was good enuff to have everything from a Swiss Chalet to A&M on the field injuries fun. But neither one could do the middle man stuff- and they knew it. So they kept the experienced people always. And thats how they made their money. All the cogs in the machine were present. So what I am saying is - sooner or later a business will get into trouble by trying to cut corners by eliminating good people who can grease the way for the money to slide. You cant eliminate that one domino. This fact WILL surface - no matter what happens. Begining in the late first quarter of next year we will turn this economy around. Second quarter of next year- the strong buiness savy companies will be revealed and the stuff will be rolling down hill again. We will start to see the recovery in the economy in those numbers. But not before a squeeky 1st quarter. In that first quarter we will see the mistakes of today. But in your case, its different somewhat - you were thrown into a mess that was already present. Enron execs tried to go directly to the the money and make money off the money and it got freaky. They went outside the box and got too creative in the finacial realm. One of the many mistakes. Of which I know very little about. But guessing I would say greed over bigger numbers at a Wall St address, Duh, would be one factor. In an already weird stock market with tech stocks, energy did look good. Real good. I would have to say that everyone with a diversified portfolio had an energy stock in it. In most businesses, baring another terrorist incident, this will level out by the second quarter of next year. That stone that hit the lake- ripple effect- will end. The restructuring of businesses that made the correct desicions of today will add to the recovery of the economy. Therefore, in my humble opinion- If we dont freak out- we will see a better Spring. Till then we need to wait out the ripples. http://www.AirAnn.com Ugly Girl #6

Brit and I are going to tickle Levin to death to distract him while Kelli steals his sky tube. Either that or I sweet talk Jeremy into lending me his. Cant wait should be interesting. Meanwhile, I have a couple of jump tickets burning a hole in my jumpsuit. Heard from a buncha guys about how awesome you guys looked at the party. Man, what is with that? Dont they know the Ugly Girlz are far from it? Heh, we are drop dead beautiful in jumpsuits, or not, ...I mean with street clothes on. Meanwhile, Tom rocks for sending me a Cam Eye!! Thanks Santa!!
