In my last position before retirement, a counselor that worked for me played the Match.com game. After about 6 months she snagged a wealthy, self-employed Canadian living in FL. She had great stories of how she scammed the dating site using different ID's and how she would evaluate and dump the unacceptable applicants. I miss working with her. A couple years ago, a fellow VVA member sent me a copy to the book The Israelis by Rosenthal. I don't remember the author's first name. The most outstanding revelation for me was the diversity of their culture and society. They are a microcosmic version of the U.S. I can't take any single snapshot of their country as universally descriptive. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Yes. 1. President Harry Truman pledged U.S. support c.1948. 2. Nations that do not support Israel tend not to fair well in the long run. 3. They are our only staunch democratic ally in the Mideast. One of my Vietnam Veteran buddies told me about Oath Keepers several months ago. I like their foundation statements. http://oathkeepers.org/oath/ I haven't spoken to anyone who has actually paid the membership dues and joined. Therefore, other than the website, I don't know what activities they are engaged in besides making speeches. Are you a paid member? Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Repost: Is Pedophile Guide Violation of 1st Amendment?

Luke Lirot, a prominent 1st Amendment attorney from Clearwater FL, stated on the radio this morning that he believes prosecuting Greaves will be difficult. The following is a link where Mr. Lirot discusses 1st Amendment rights, not related to the Greaves charges. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1169915707985668017# Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. What happened to all the other posts? Andy9o8's thoughtful and legally accurate description is gone. Now it just sounds like he likes to talk about pedophiles. This is all messed up. The topic is now running under 2 titles. The other comments are under Poll: Post deleted by RonD1120. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. 150year anniversary of the South's declaration of secession

The way I look at it, you are dealing with adolescent mentality. Intelligence is fairly good but, the emotional maturation level is stuck around + or - 15. In our recent unpleasantness, the South was treated unfairly. The North had them out manned, out equipped and, out financed. The North took unfair advantage. Let's fight that war again. This time around, all the SPECOPS commands are in the South. Well, the important ones anyway. The cause needs to be redefined though. How about the military's right to own gays? Neurotheology: This Is Your Brain On Religion
RonD1120 replied to RonD1120's topic in Speakers Corner
You may very well overcome it just as well by studying Dawkins, Leonardo da Vinci and Darwin. But you chose to study the Bible. THat could be construed as rather narrow minded ;-) I like the comment earlier "You are a good man, Ron" I have no doubt that Ron is a good man. But I also know MANY men and women that are good people who are that not because of some spiritual guidance of any kind......myself included. You missed the point that Coreece is already a Christian. My message was intended to strengthen Christian faith from brother to brother. You are, unfortunately, outside the circle. That is not say you are not good. You are, however, uninformed. Neurotheology: This Is Your Brain On Religion
RonD1120 replied to RonD1120's topic in Speakers Corner
Fine...just don't call it theology. sorry to use the crazy face...but seriously...either you have faith or you don't. this science will not bring atheists to believe in God...and that is one of my jobs/burdens.... (edit..after hours at the DZ...) Maybe I haven't made myself clear... This song goes out to all my atheist brothers/sisters...I love you Sean & Jennefer/Jezebel/Guinevere...I miss you... I will die for you... ...btw, this is gonna be a very bad day for me...12/18. My child and his mother lost is like living in hell...sorry if i've been a little strange lately...I hope you can forgive me. Jen...my stupid little sweetheart...why did you die...why did you leave me? StUpiID GIrL I'm only happy when it rains... ...now tell me...what does their neurotheology say about that? they're just using our pain and confusion to sell books...just like all the others... ohhh...big fuckin' suprise... This morning I am attending the funeral of a veteran. I will hold you in my prayers. I understand loss. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Maybe, but we won't know until we test our assumptions. I for one welcome serious scientific exploration into mans interaction with theology. Even if you are correct and this line of exploration doesn't reveal anything about God, it may well reveal something about humans and how we work. I know you don't underestimate the power of belief, if we can learn more about the biological effects of various states of mind then maybe we can harness the process for better positive outcomes. I agree. In today's world I applaud any serious effort to understand spiritual truth. Truth will win out. My spiritual journey began in graduate school with a study of the power of sorcery. Nine years later I was at the foot of the cross and met Jesus Christ. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Neurotheology: This Is Your Brain On Religion
RonD1120 replied to RonD1120's topic in Speakers Corner
Good point...That's all I'm really worried about right now. I have some pressing sin issues to deal with and this new theology isn't gonna help me. I haven't been fruitful in months and have been unable to help anyone...but the following scripture explains why, and encourages me to get back on track. 2 Peter 1:5-11 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Fair enough... but I will still remain skeptical...I just don't trust these people for spiritual insight. I've been burned before. We all go through spiritual doldrums. I am coming out of one now that has lasted over a year. It is common. The keys to overcoming are praying, fasting and, studying the Bible. Seek the Lord and He will set you on the path of righteousness. Listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit. He will always confirm Scripture and draw you closer to Jesus. When you come out the other side you will have a greater understanding. It is called spiritual maturation. Send me a PM if you like. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit.
