My first encounter with the group was in Denver, CO 1975. They posted a classified seeking a substance abuse counselor. I applied for the position. The interview process led me through a labyrinth of offices. Each interview concluded with the close of me paying them money and joining their program. After about six or so of these "job" interviews I stated that I was not interested and desired to leave. I had to ask directions to find my way out. They scared the crap out of me. I finally found the connection Dr. McLaren - CCHRI - Scientology. I still believe the message of the OP video is accurate. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

I agree and state again, I cannot find the CoS connection. Where is it? Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

Thank you for your reply. I could not seem to locate the link to Scientology. However, I also agree with the message from your link. The latter supports the former, aside from the Scientology BS. Twenty-five plus years in the field of social services convinced me that the "nannys in charge" were vengeful and powerful. They want the males whimpering, obedient and castrated. A psychiatrist explains. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzdu3WQyIZg I saw evidence of Dr. McLaren's claim in the field. As an assessment counselor in a psych hospital, my job was to present criteria to the admitting physician that would justify the admission and to convince the patient to sign in voluntarily. Psychiatrists would change diagnoses to fit what Medicare and/or insurance were currently accepting for payment. Edited to add comment. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Psychiatrist: Mass Shootings the Result of Broken Health Care System
RonD1120 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
From my experience in the mental health/substance use disorder treatment system, I agree with most of what Dr. Wang states. I disagree with her conclusion that a broken healthcare system has put us all at risk. The risk has always been there, with or without any healthcare system. Every society has its crazies and always have had them. My experience taught me that any financed treatment approach will be abused. It will be abused by the patient/client who has an entitlement mentality. Furthermore, the treatment system will also be taken advantage of by the facility seeking the funding to maintain existence. Whether the funding is from the private sector, the insurance companies, or from the public sector, which may be Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, etc., treatment facilities and programs will compete for the dollar. This environment puts the emphasis of treatment on the paperwork required to keep the money. Psychiatric hospitals have a specialist in medical billing whose job is to study insurance and federal government lingo. They instruct clinicians on the correct phraseology to use in the charts to justify cash flow. By far, most of the patient/clients I worked with were capable of being responsible and productive citizens. They chose not to take responsibility for themselves because they could get away with blaming their parents, society or some trauma in their past. To keep from becoming one of the dregs of society an individual must have a reason to assume personal responsibility. That responsibility is taught by the parents and the community. Families must be strengthened by the husband and wife's desire to stick it out and do they best they are able. To that end requires a strong spiritual faith component. Families must maintain support for their immediate community. And, likewise the community must care for and support the individual families. Families and communities made America strong and we need to get back to those basic foundations. If we do not start thinking on a microcosmic level we became just another chaotic playing field for the computer oriented video gamers that value human life as cheap, real cheap. Thank you Mr. President for being the voice of reason at a time when it is needed. I watched and listened. I felt like it was a good college lecture. He made a couple of good points about healing. As the presidential messiah, his healing powers allowed Rep. Giffords to "open her eyes." Generally, it was a well written presentation. He almost got real at the end when he strategically mentioned Christine Taylor Green. I wonder what would we think about our nation, our society and our faith if we stopped watching TV, listening to political commentary on the radio or reading the bloggers for about three months. With all due respect sir, I'm having a little trouble buying your story. It reminds me of a bad student/independant film where the director/editor failed to establish the propper rapport between the main characters and the audience. First...In your plot, the world seems to be over populated with speed demon christians that bombard the roadways cutting everybody off and flipping them the bird and flashing pictures of bloody fetuses. It is so overbearing that it causes the main character to grow so exasperated and weary that it leads him to abandon his faith. Second...Your character sounds like he doesn't want to identify with christianity because it is all about dead babies and giving people the finger as they try to brainwash you while confined in a straight jacket. The third reason I'm not buying the story is that it almost seems analogous to saying "I quit identifying with being a good person because there was this one guy who said he was a good person, but one day he got really ticked off at somebody and told them to piss off!" But see...I don't think that's who our audience wants. I think they want a man who is solid in his convictions...who is steadfast and stands firm. They don't want somebody that's so easily swayed by a couple nutjobs as to negate his whole belief system....However, I think I'm starting to divert a little too much from the essence of the character you oringinally proposed. So here is my professional opinion. I think it would be a more believable plot if the main character altogether just didn't identify with christianity. He simply just doesn't believe. But rather than being comfortably confident in that mind set, there is a struggle deep within the receses of his mind. There is something naggin him...a vexation that is causing him to become more and more uneasy about his disbelief...and he hates it...he wants it gone! So instead of reconciling this concern with the postive aspects of christianity, he dwells on any and every negative aspect that can be even remotely associated with christianity so that he can simply feel better about his disbelief. ...Now this is your film, this is your baby. I'm simply a consaultant that's been in this business for 15 years...but if you like what we have to say and would like to see our ideas of your masterpiece come alive on the silver screen, we have a very large network of some very talented directors and production staff that can have this rolling out on the red carpet this time next year. Just make the check payable to Dr. Coreece at Divine interceptation media consultation and I'll have Andy and Lawrocket take care of the rest. Regards... (btw, I'm not trying to be a smart ass...I'm just projecting my boredom with being an editor. I think I want to get back into the pre-production aspect of the entertainment business...you know, the big collaboration meetings and brainstorming sessions...just making shit happen. Hopefully my point didn't get too diluted and that you found it a tad entertaining?) WOW! Well stated sir. I am blessed to see that you are back on the cutting edge again. Correct; you're referring to basic human nature. All people have preexisting biases; although not everyone necessarily has a bias that is relevant to the subject matter of a particular case. (For example, an 18 year old newly-minted adult serving jury duty might conceivably not have any pre-existing biases toward the issues behind, say, a contract dispute between 2 businesses.) The voire dire process only works the way it's supposed to when prospective jurors are completely candid about what biases they do, and do not, have. Thanks for the reply. You got a bit of a workout on this thread. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

Everyone serves on a jury with preexisting biases and prejudices. It is the voir dire process that reveals and eliminates the extremes. Hey Andy9o8, how does that sound?
