1) Consider differentiating the look of your CV - nothing garish or crazy, but sometimes just a small photo or similar can make the difference between your CV and the 50 other identical ones. 2) Have a think about what you can offer the company - either in interview or in brief on the CV. A section of 'Goals' along the lines of 'To develop the teamworking in the business while expanding outside networking etc...' gives the employer reason to ask you for interview. Any training you'd like to give or recieve shows drive and commitment.Managers get off on that Obviously, there isn't room for everything you'd like on a CV, but my initial reaction to your CV was "qualified but unimaginative"... As for the skydiving thing, it's personal preference, but I mentioned it and highlighted the great networks we have as a community as an example of transferable skills ... got me the job... blues Will Oh... this is from my Masters in HR by the way - not just entirely made up!

it works from my machine at home with the firewall inplace - just not from any of the client machines from the office... (There were set up before I was empoyed)... Is there some ticked option I've missed for viewing files over a VPN?
-
anyone know anything about VPNs? I've just set up a server for work wirth the intention of the clients being able to VPN to it - I've configured port 1723 on my firewall and can ping the server well enough through the VPN, I just can't see any of the files... The server is running MS Server 2003, and the clients a mix of 2000 pro and XP pro... any advice? ta will

The somersault through the risers after swooping a pond looked painful... nice slowmo though! Was the guy OK?

118: Burn pits for classified material are not revel fires - therefore it is wrong to dance naked around them. 148: Putting red 'Mike and Ike's' ® into a prescription medicine bottle, and then eating them all in a formation is not funny. 106: I may not trade my rifle for any of the following: Cigarettes, booze, sexual favors, Kalishnikovs, Soviet Armored vehicles, small children, or bootleg CD’s. BWAHAHHHAAAHAA!

Yup... been there, done that - I can pretty much guarentee that you won't do it again though. Scary isn't it?

It's that time again. Throw together random words and see what turns up. Oh look what I've done, created a new Haiku because it's Friday. Shall we try a third? Why not? It'll be a first. Just two are normal.

Anyone know anything about cats? (No Turtle; not kittens!)
yoink replied to yoink's topic in The Bonfire
Holy Crap! Shots, baths, vaccines and three different types of food? This cat's going to be better looked after than me! The neighbours say he's actually a she that's been around for about a year and sponges food off all of them. My kind of animal! Right, now I need a name... More suggestions? -

Cheers for all the advice - you guys rock... as you probably guessed, I've never kept a cat before, so the feline leukemia thing shouldn't be a problem - what about stuff like fleas? I've had a pretty careful look and couldn't find any, but he's got more hair than Cousin It and the little buggers could be hiding anywhere - I'd rather not have them in the house. Is there spray or something to make sure? Will -
