Morning Ron, I'd like to understand what you were thinking when you posted this. I know that you WANT it to be true but even a cursory search could have confirmed it or not. But you didn't bother doing that. Why not? You must have known that someone here would fact check that statement so why would you post knowing that you're setting yourself up?

For the OP - lots of the posts here are skydivers talking among themselves regarding shit that is way to detailed for you. Don't worry about it. The truth is, yeah - you probably need to be 18 to jump, and I know it feels like it sucks, but seriously - go do some tunnel flying. When you're 18 you'll start miles ahead of everyone else in terms of skills, and you'll be comfortable enough to actually ENJOY your first proper freefall. And tunnel flying is a blast - particularly if you go with friends... Maybe do that for your 16th? -

Fuck yes. I've been wishing for a law that forces media outlets to rename 'news' shows to 'opinion' shows if all they do is have pundits talking about journalism that other sources have gathered, and an independent body that licenses vets journalists and news outlets. If you have people gathering information from first hand sources, report that information in a factual but unbiased way, and can cite the sources that's news. If you're talking about what you think that news means you're in an 'opinion' segment of the show.

When I got my passport I also got the passport card - it just sits in my wallet with my drivers license and can be used as a RealID. I'm fine with having harder-to-fake IDs required for serious stuff like air travel and gun licensing. It blows my mind that Social Security numbers are used as a 'secure' form of ID in this country.

I remember reading an FDA paper in 2017 comparing 22 phase 3 trials. I think 9 or 10 of them had serious safety issues that were found in that phase. edit: my wife was working in pharma at the time and we had this exact discussion about the protracted nature of clinical trials.

Hooray. Good news. I got a job offer today! It’s not quite what I was after, but with so many people unemployed right now and companies having a freeze on hiring just finding a job is a godsend.

I don't get it. Why is the culture in America so different to the rest of the world? I've honestly never imagined the mass arrogance, self entitlement and stupidity as we're seeing over here recently. EVERYWHERE else in the world while people bitch and moan about the quarantine and mask requirements they do it - because it's preferable to having the economy tanked for multiple years and greatly increasing your risk of choking to death, and it's enforced. What is making Americans so different? It can't JUST be the lack of federal leadership.

And that's why you're seeing people jump on airdvr's post - not because Clinton is a hero of 'the left' but because people don't like that nonsense assumption being made about them just because they associate with a more liberal political philosophy. They're refuting it not because he's a hero (he might be to some people?) but because he's not a hero to them personally, but airdvr is either just trolling or he wants to score internet points against 'the left' in general by making up a strawman argument.

Cool strawman, bro. Try this - for a month stop looking at EVERY fucking thing as a left vs right argument and talk about them on their own merits. Bill Clinton isn’t anyone’s ‘hero’ much less an entire set of the population’s, and he’s never been accused of any form of sexual assault. That said, if he is guilty then he should face proper justice - Just like anyone.
