And against the rules of the forum. If you have something to say, say it. Don't just copy paste someone else's diatribe. You know better than this. Yes, voting is important. But if you think it's important here then take the time to put it in your own words.

Edit: Goddammit I wish you could just delete a post

We’ve been putting some serious contingency plans together this time.

I hope. But that 10% chance combined with the the way the electoral college works and the shenanigans the Republicans are pulling keeps me up at night.

Ask almost anyone 'We'll give you a guaranteed job for life in one of the most senior positions in the country if you very, very occasionally thrown us a bone.' and I think most people would go for it. How many rulings in a SCJ's tenure do they REALLY alter the way of life? I'd be surprised if it's more than 1 or 2. Selling out for that doesn't surprise me. Honestly, I'd probably do it, at least telling myself that when I was in the position I wouldn't necessarily have to do what I was told.
-
The weird thing is I don't think that would be a lot better. I just want these people to do their jobs properly - governing for the American people rather than their particular party or ideology.
-
I've bet on worse odds than that before.

It doesn't need to be actually be a 'thing' to have the intended effect of raising a specter of doubt in some minds. Look at the last time this shit happened with Clinton's emails - NOTHING came out of it, but it was enough to torpedo her chances. Trump's team will KEEP releasing bullshit like this and will move onto the next one before the dust has settled from the previous time all the way up to the election. They don't care if it's true. All they care about is that it changes one undecided to a Trump supporter.

It IS tempting. I do love the smell of Jet-A. And regularly working around spinning props I'm much less likely to get RSI from typing, so a safer working environment too.

Why does following Q instantly make people unable to use full sentences? You don’t sound secret and SPEC OPS when you talk this way. You sound retarded.

I seriously hope the Democrats have learned this in the short term, but I actually doubt it. In the long term it's not a viable strategy for either party if they're serious about 'America' as a single unit - it guarantees increased social pressure and feelings of elections being meaningless. But then I don't think the Republican party gives a shit about what 'America' is. As you said, winning at all cost is all that matters. McConnell is the worst thing to happen to US politics as long as I've been interested. He's far worst than Trump because he's actually got a plan and knows what he's doing.

One of these things is not like the other. I'll give you a hint - one is officially recognized as a domestic terrorist group.

Just something. Some form of foolproof check. Maybe voters get their ballots tattooed on their body and notarized.
-
I'm not sure I'd agree with this. How much do you think it has been worth to Russia to have Trump as a president? How much value can you put on controlling the outcome of a first world county election. Value is more than just cash. If a trillion dollars goes missing from a bank then people notice and processes to recover / replace the money is implemented. If a country is accused of manipulating an election look at what DID happen - nothing. I'd be super cautious about fully digital voting. There are ways to break any digital process unless we suddenly invent quantum encryption. Hackers always have the advantage in this type of system.

I’m starting to think that in future everyone gets a ballot that has a carbon copy slip, and on voting day one copy goes to the ballot and the carbon copy goes into some sort of vault in order to have a checks mechanism.

This is third world tinpot dictatorship bullshit.

I've just watched a video of a 2-bore shotgun that fires 3500 grain shot. Seems perfectly reasonable for home defense applications. I particularly like the utter ridiculousness of the companion pistol.
-
Run for President. I'd support you. I'd do it myself on this platform but we know how 'murica feels about foreigners. Oh and toss in electoral reform, would ya?
-
Still not getting it, I see. It has to be deliberate by now.

Of course Trump is pouting. Giving Biden covid was part of his campaign strategy. I hope they hold it anyway without Trump and just give Biden an hour and a half to answer questions on his own... and each time Biden says 'This administration has failed at x' the camera just cuts to an empty microphone for a couple of seconds.

You misunderstood Andy's message. Probably deliberately. How are you still not getting this? Bill tried to explain it previously. The first amendment doesn't apply on Twitter. It doesn't apply on facebook. It doesn't apply on dz.com. It doesn't apply in an individuals home. It doesn't apply in privately owned companies, regardless of if you think it should. The real headline here is 'Companies uphold their Terms of Use, regardless of the individual. Right wing activists OUTRAGED.' Your president is such a child that he can't even abide by a set of rules that he agreed to when he started posting on those sites. He's such an egotistical narcissist that he doesn't think rules should apply to him, and he's such a conman that you, Ron, are swallowing his bullshit hook, line and sinker. YOU, who describe yourself regularly as a veteran and patriot, are actively being told that the constitution that you hold so dear and have gone to war for is being broken when it isn't. And you don't even question it. And you've got the BALLS to call other people sheep.
