    BPA AGM 2005

which DZ? And what are the ramifications? Would we need seperate insurance to jump there? Unfortunately people are sheep... I'm betting the insurance increase will be passed in the same manner as last year, with Nay votes being changed to Abstentions after 'It's the only option we have' speeches by the committee... and they know it.
  2. What region of the UK are you moving to?

    BPA AGM 2005

My thoughts exactly... I'll be there again. Let's go for 6 tables this year!
  5. Do you get any pop up windows appearing before the computer shuts down? Edit: Useful website that automatically analyses Hijack This log files: www.hijackthis.de/index.php Although I can't imagine it's as good as an expert, it's still a useful start. It suggests there are a couple of things that need to be fixed... O2 - BHO in particular.
  6. These suits have sutle differences to that of the freefly suits eg: The student suit has shoulder grips for AFF but not as loose as the Freefly. This will accommodate most shapes and sizes of students allowing a good fall rate as well.I use a combination of Taslan and the heavier Ice Taslan.Very hard wearing with Cordura knee & bum pads (1000 denier lasts longer) 'E' thread is used for its strength. All suits have pockets and a hook knife pocket. The Tandem and AFF Jumpmaster suits have velcro cuffs for easy on off they also have a small wing shape cut from the side of the waist to the elbow slowing down the freefall rates I also use a combination of Taslan and the heavier Ice Taslan.Very hard wearing with Cordura knee & bum pads (1000 denier lasts longer) 'E' thread is used for its strength. All suits have pockets and a hook knife pocket.
  7. Clay, Those Southerners know squat about decent warm beer! Head further north and we'll introduce you to some decent brews...
  8. The shape of the summer suit is like a singlet top with Spandex (Lycra) through the back, Ice Taslan in the front Cordura knee & bum pads (1000 denier lasts longer)the cordura can be extended down further if needed. The legs are similar to that of the freefly suits but not as loose these suits tandem masters find great especially in the summer months when it gets so hot and lots of tandems to do. They are also an alternative to the freefly pants when the legs are made more loosely.E thread is used for its strength All suits have pockets and a hook knife pocket.
  9. The sitsuits have spandex (Lycra) through the back, a one peice sleeve where small wings are attached from the top side of the arm front and back of the sleeve as opposed to the camera wings being attached at the under side of the arm and side seam. The front main body is Taslan or the mircoft with Spandex (Lycra) leggings either to the knee or of full length to the ankle. These have an inside pocket in the torso area.Great for sit flying or sky boards
  10. The Freefly suits are made of heavy weight similar to that of poly cotton they are made up in panels so a variety of patterns can be made. The cuffs both wrists and legs are fininshed with velcro, Cordura knee & bum pads (1000 denier lasts longer) but most choose not to have them on these suits All suits have pockets and a hook knife pocket. The freefly suits and the freefly pants can be made however loose you wish. 'E' thread is used for its strength.
  11. The rel suits can be made of a combinationation of different fabrics depending on your needs. The suits have the following:Cordura knee & bum pads (1000 denier lasts longer) Spandex (lyrca) in the forearm, right through the back area for ease on and off, insert in the crutch area down to the bottom of the knee to allow stretch. The front can be made of Taslan, Ice Taslan, or the new product Mircroft used for the lighter jumper or the serious RW flyer.Grips are edged with the binding tape used on containers so the suits are made to last.'E' thread is used for its strength. All suits have pockets and a hook knife pocket.
  12. anyone got an update on this? Has the DZ got permission?
  13. ENTP, and it described me almost exactly... not bad.
  14. That sucks! Due to stuff being stolen, it does suggest that it was probably not the customs people responsible though. How was the rig packed? Was it in a rig bag or anything else? I've found my rig fits nicely into half of a hard luggage case that has locks on it. Jumpsuits and goggles go in the rig bag and both go in the hold... Not had any problems doing it this way.
  15. Just a quick note to say that this thread is fantastic... In my opinion this is exactly what this forum should be about - feedback, encouragement and advice with a minimum of flaming or arguing. Nice
  16. What about confidence issues? If someone is technically competent but has no confidence would you put them out the door? Even if you thought they might crack under pressure?? I don't think any of it is black and white, but I don't think just because someone understands the groundschool means that they are ready to jump... that's the hardest part of instructing IMO. It stops being a technical question and becomes a judgement call... JMO
  17. There's some interesting discussion in this thread but a big problem seems to be that all the experienced guys don't agree. how many times do we hear "my 1000 jump friend thinks I'll be fine", when experienced guys on here are shaking their heads and making 'bounce' comments? Is it any surprise that some low number jumpers are confused and annoyed? They're getting conflicting advice... Unfortunately people will always ask for opinions, and just because two people have the same jump numbers, doesn't mean they'll give the same advice. The trouble is, both of them will believe they're giving the best they can. One persons 'acceptable risk' isn't necessarily another.

    Fatality analysis

That's an interesting analysis... It always struck me that spans were generally considered the safer type of jump, but your data indicates that ain't the case... Does your analysis factor in the number of types of jumps going on? i.e. Are cliff jumps more prevalent and that's what is producing the majority?
  19. I don't buy that at all.... Riding a bike is no different to jumping - you can do everying right and still die. The trick is to ride predictably - you put an indicator on and someone will expect you to change lanes (if they see you. They are far less likely to expect you to burn across all 3 lanes and therefore you are in more danger. Add the extra area of space you have to be aware of and crossing multiple lanes in one go adds a shit load of danger... It has less to do with how good you are and more to do with how aware everyone else is...
  20. You Philistine! You Heretic!! You... you..... CANADIAN! you probably drink bud light don't you? Come on... admit it...

  23. FreeFly, Head down, Feet down, Butt down, any way but belly down it seems now. Freefly has created a new demand in the performance of the good old jumpsuit. Freedom of movement, yet controllable flight surfaces are now important. Go Crazy's line of 1 and 2 piece FreeFly jumpsuits addresses those needs. A removable jacket that doesn't ride up and cover important handles at inopportune moments. The jacket is a useful addition to the CRW suit, providing additional upper body control when freefall opportunities arise. FreeFly pants that are comfortable enough for continuous wear around the DZ and after jumping at the watering hole or restaurant. The pants have 2 styles. A flared leg design providing more flight control surface for the larger, more ballistically capable jumper. Or a straight leg design for the terminal challenged. The pants cuff is securely closed by our specially design of trapper flap, with no exposed hook Velcro to snag pilot chute mesh and create a nasty problem. Also available is a one piece Freefly suit, specially cut and designed to permit freedom of movement and fall range control One thing we have learned is " you get what you pay for". This especially applies to the Hemp Fabric option for our line of freefly and freefall suits. Hemp is probably the toughest fabric around. Durability in a wonderfully flyable fabric. The photos above are of one of our hemp freefly suits. Reported to be "well balanced" in it's flight characteristics, they have earned high praise from their owners.
  24. A custom fit suit without the custom price charged by our competitors. Quality air wear for those just starting out, looking for a fun suit, Student/Tandem operations, Can-Am, National and International caliber competitors, freefall camera work.
  25. Lol!! a group of us tried Halo2 online last weekend and got massively beaten - we just couldn't win... come alive, BLAM. dead... come alive, BLAM. dead... again. so we ran away and hid... just hiding in a dark corner listening to people screaming "AGGHHH!!! Come out and FIGHT!!!" was great fun, and a moral victory!
