  1. It has been discussed, but the massive range of cameras, lenses, switches and other gear would soon become unmanageable I think. Also, I would have thought that there were already specific camera forums on the net where specialist knowledge would be available?
  2. Didn't work at Weston last year either.
  3. Some slightly more unusual ones, although whoever said the AC Cobra was right too! The TVR Cerbera Speed 12 - 7.7 litre 900bhp monster with 0-60 in 3.2 seconds... good luck getting it to go round corners though! The Noble M14 and the Morgan Aero 8... any of the above would be nice... if you've got a few hundred thou' going spare...
  4. How experienced were the solo trackers? Are you sure everyone tracked where they were supposed to? I've usually seen group tracking dives go out last - you could have got out and tracked in the direction of the run in - you may have overflown the DZ slightly, but probably not if the rabbit is tracking steep as you indicated. If the two solos had gone our first, each tracking 90 degrees to the run in and then turning to the DZ, you might have avoided these dangers. It's also really important not only to tell everyone at what height you're dumping, but also get their plan and for everone to stick to it. In this case, if the solo trackers plan was to pull at 3k, your exit order was probably wrong.... As an aside, trackers must be prepared to land off the DZ - the danger of getting into someone elses airspace, particularly with an inexperienced rabbit, is extremely high.

  6. 'Game theft' led to fatal attack A Chinese man has been stabbed to death in a row over a sword in online game Legends of Mir 3, say reports. Shanghai gamer Qiu Chengwei killed player Zhu Caoyuan when he discovered he had sold a "dragon sabre" he had been loaned, said the china Daily. Mr Chengwei only got the powerful virtual weapon shortly before it was sold for 7,200 yuan (£460). Before the attack Mr Chengwei told police about the theft who said the weapon was not real property. Missing law Like many online games Legends of Mir 3 is set in a fantasy world in which players take on the roles of warriors, wizards and priests. As in-game characters rack up experience in the game they become able to use more powerful weapons such as the "dragon sabre" at the centre of the row. A long-time player of Legends of Mir 3, Mr Chengwei reportedly only got hold of the powerful sword in February. Although Mr Caoyuan said he would hand over the money from the sale of the sword, Mr Chengwei lost patience and attacked him in real life. The China Daily said Mr Caoyuan was stabbed with "great force" in the left chest and killed. The row is thought to have blown up partly because China has no laws that cover the theft of virtual in-game items. This is in contrast to places like South Korea which has a section of its police force that investigates in-game crime. Many of the magic weapons, armour, artefacts and money from online games, such as EverQuest and Ultima Online, change hands for large sums of money. At any one time millions of dollars in game items are being traded on places like eBay or specialised sites. Mr Chengwei has given himself up to police and confessed to "intentional injury" but it is not clear what he has been charged with. The China Daily said that increasing numbers of players were going to court to resolve disputes over stolen money and game items. -------------------------------------------------------------- ??? Holy crap... some people need to get out more. what's next? 'Burn my One Ring will you hobbit-biotch? Right... I'm comin' to getcha!!'
  7. Funiest thing on the DVD! Love his expression just before he bursts into flame!
  8. Did you ever manage to track her down Bill? If I remember correctly, she left the DZ before anyone could really find out what the problem was...
  9. Both the Axon and the Vapor have been added to the Gear section should you wish to review them.

    IPT Axon

The Axon is IPT's 9-Cell semi elliptical main canopy. It's an all ZP canopy with Spectra 725 suspension line as standard. The Axon's design allows it to be docile enough for the new jumper while still providing the experienced jumper with an agressive feel. Lower wing loadings provide more forgiveness and easier landings, while higher wing loadings provide increased responsiveness and increased speeds. This gives the Axon a huge performance envelope; something for everyone! Axon's openings are consistant and soft and the smoothe airfoil shape gives it a clean crisp profile which reduces drag, increasing performance. Axons airfoil shape gives the pilot substantial lift with which to slow down at will.
  11. I can do that.... I was always warned that lawyers were expensive... It was originally posted from a UK perspective, but the difference in law is interesting.
  12. I want you to look at the law again!!! I've got a case of Becks and a case of Oranjeboom here that I'm loathe to give away! The guy who'll win it drinks Carling for petes sake! HELP ME! You're a lawyer! Find me a loophole dagnamit!
  13. go to the hospital and demand a PR... and then bend over! stimulation of the prostate (in this case for an examination) will arouse many men - it's simply a physiological response.
  14. Had an argument with a friend over the weekend - he thinks (and so does his lawer-in-training GF) that a man cannot be legally raped by a woman... (something to do with the law defining the use of a penis?) I think it's bull and have bet 2 cases of good beer on the fact. We've agreed that if someone can come up with 1 legal precedent or piece of law for my case, then I win... Beer will be gladly shared with anyone who helps win the argument! Any ideas? Or even any thoughts on the matter?
  15. Took me a while to get out of those 2 rooms. You need all the items from both rooms to proceed. Which are you missing?
  16. Spiders and needles... .... spiders WITH needles!!! OMG!!! [goes to lie down]

    BPA do it again

Cheers Craig, my issue of the Mag with chairmans speech in it never arrived... I'd still like to see a breakdown of where and between who these cases are occuring though.

    BPA do it again

I agree, but at this time there is no indication that the BPA has that aim in mind by reducing the cover... "From 1 April 2005, the coverage of the BPA insurance policy will be reduced from 2m to 100,000 at overseas non-affiliated drop zones, excluding the USA where the policy, as previously, does not apply. The limit will remain at 2m for Affiliated Clubs. As before, the policy does not provide cover for instructor negligence at non-affiliated Clubs" That's all they say. Nothing about membership fees decreasing... Absolutely no reason given whatsoever. I'd be surprised to see fees decrease from the BPA as a result of this... At most, I'd expect them to say something along the lines of "We are reducing the cover to enable us to maintain membership fees at reasonable levels".... and I'm not holding my breath about that.

    BPA do it again

You'd be surprised how often it happens. Also, it only needs a few hugely expensive claims to push the premiums up and I can think of 2 off the top of my head. Both by very experienced skydivers.... The insurance premium in the UK is a different matter to the one raised above I think. The BPA has at least given its reasons for rising premiums (whether we agree is another matter), but haven't mentioned why they're going to decrease cover in Europe without giving the skydiving community something back. That's what I want addressed. What do we get out of it? or maybe only the BPA get something out of it?
