tonfly convertor -recreational camera helmet.
frost replied to arai's topic in Photography and Video
Have you actually gone to that site yourself before posting it? Why post a link to a site that contains nothing?? -
So how much effort have you put into this so far? In comments you can say what you are working on now, what your future tunnel plans are, how long it took you to get to a certain level, etc. Please, just a short poll reply, lets not make it a discussion of various tunnel topics that may arise

Great example of idea sharing and collaboration in dream of flight
frost replied to yuri_base's topic in Wing Suit Flying
The funny thing is... here is what the BASE Yuri said about yuri_base (aka veter_): http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1759796;page=3;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=100;#1779271 one can change his nickname (after becoming the laughing stock of the dz and all online forums), but he will never change his true self -
Thank you for impressing us with your brilliance! Oh hey... Are you still on the Bounce Bingo list? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1759796; Are people at the Ranch still trying to murder you by half way collapsing your slider? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1763663; Did you end up suing the DZ or calling FAA and DEA about that issue? How is the chemical treatment going?

The best canopy pilot in the world
frost replied to stevomooo's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I thought you asked who was the BEST, not who was good. ;) So then, you see now the trickiness and actually i bit of silliness in the question "who is the best pilot in the world"? :) -
The best canopy pilot in the world
frost replied to stevomooo's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
How do you judge who is the best pilot? Is it based on a personal opinion or on actual results of competitions? Highest ranked canopy pilot in PST last year was Jeffro. The pilot that has won most comps or placed most in the top 3 in the last 3-4 years is Jay. But to me the best pilot is someone who inspires me to do better, to learn something new, who makes me say "wow!". There are a few people that have done that for me in the past, so i cant point out one single person. -
I think the first guy to reply said it all. Now it's time to have some fun with this :) Besides, dude, you're not new to taking threads off track ;) Ask him: How do you breathe up there?
-
Ask him: why is chess considered a sport?
-
Right. He re-painted it right? ;) SoFPiDaRF - School of Fast Progress in Downsizing and Radical Flying. Because nobody knows your skills better than you.

Ask him: "Mr. Bobo, Sir, what's it like to be a superstar and a hero to so many super swoopers out there?" Also ask him how long it took him to repaint the pink house.

Last year Pro's didnt get any money, I took Tommy's 100 bucks for a 3rd place. Event if they did, still not a bad idea to increase that miniature prize pool. And even a better one to have separate score cards if enough Pros show up. I think Chris wanted to do that at one of the meets last year too.
-
I am sure it already crossed your mind, but may be if there are more then 5 Pros at any given comp - have a separate class for us and a separate score card? Also, since Pros dont compete for the money in CPC... how about each of us throwing 50 bucks into a prize pool? Then first place takes all. Just to make it a little more interesting :) I gotta get my lunch money back from Beek, Craig and Chris Watkins.
-
Yes, we have separate sets of gates for Pros. Why do you think you no longer a Pro in PST? How would he be able to revoke what you've earned or are otherwise qualified for? SoFPiDaRF - School of Fast Progress in Downsizing and Radical Flying. Because nobody knows your skills better than you.

People are reporting camera compatibility issues with this card.

What does a container manufacturer know about reserves?

I have a Rawa with PC1000 box, HC3, Cookie box and Liquid Flatlock. It works like a dream. With an extra quick release plate i also mount a still camera.
-
Awesome! Thanks for the update. Kieth, see if we can secure a Cessna for a good day of practice for the Feb 8th (day before CPC). Three people from the cold North East are coming and making 10-12 practice jumps on Friday would be music to my ears. I am sure the rest of competitors will be there on Friday to practice as well...

I have looked through the topics in this forum and didnt find any posts mentioning this. There are some sites that i have found quite useful. 1. http://www.tunnelflight.com/ - good for many things such as keeping up your skills up to date when you go to a different tunel, knowing what the requirements are for your next level, searching for members and instructors. 2. For people looking to share tunnel time this site provides a good listing http://www.gottunnel.com/ 3. Havent found much use for this one (yet), but it's another resource for a dedicated tunnel flyerhttp://www.tunnelflyer.com/ Hope you find these usefull. Feel free to add yours.

Don't you think it would also be reasonable to say that if instability with a camera helmet can kill someone with 3000 jumps, and arguably more situational awareness and ability, that it would be a lot more likely to kill someone with 80 jumps? Dont you think that's just what i said above as the first conclusion? :) In any case - answers like a couple of comments above wont convince this guy to change his mind and are pretty much useless. Information is power, either give him the info he asked for or explain why he shouldn't jump camera.
-
Exactly. So then someone might make two conclusions here. First one is - hey, if she died in a camera related accident with 3000 jumps, then what can a 80 jump wonder can hope for? Or, that her experience level made no difference in the outcome.
-
I see, thanks. I thought of the BASE jump accident from 9 years ago. How many jumps did "camera" Jan have?
-
Tell that to Jan Davis. I fail to make the connection...
-
If you have nothing constructive to say, like why he shouldnt be jumping a camera just yet or answer his question on topic - then it's best to say nothing at all then say something as original as AfricanKid, you may want to look at the tonfly helmets - they have gotten some good reviews lately and have a great option of adjustable camera mount - see their Converter http://www.tonfly.com/ P.S. it's way too early to think about jumping camera at 80 jumps

VIDEO: How to build a camera helmet in 10 minutes
frost replied to The111's topic in Photography and Video
Would you mind putting it on a video streaming site like youtube? It'll be easier to download for people with limited internet access and also put less stress on your host server. -
Hardly cheap at $1200. Couldnt justify spending that much, considering that I can have a tested and trusted in skydiving brand and buy a CX7 for $400 less.
