When I was in college my summer job was building decks. Our standard practice was to dig 3-4 foot holes and throw the dry cement in which filled about 1 foot of the hole. Then we tamped it down real well. We then put the 6 by 6's in and filled around it with the rest of the dirt and tamped that down around it. As long as they are fastened though, the way you described is acceptable. Are they getting inspetors to sign off on it? We had to because it was mostly for new developments.

Yeah, definitely turn it in. Karma always hits at the best/worst times possible. Plus, a guilty conscience is a bitch to deal with. If you didn't feel good about giving it to the attendant maybe you could have given him your contact info and let him know if anyone comes looking for something they lost to give them your info.

ME TOO!!!! I don't know what makes people laugh more- the original or me doing it a second time.... Same here!!! I think people ask you to do it again trying to be a smart ass. I know I do, but it always gets people laughing.

I was going to post the exact same thing today. I just found out my dog Bear (Flat coat retreiver) is real sick last night. He's only 11. He is having a real hard time going to the bathroom and he won't eat or drink. Well, he ate the chicken nuggets I gave him last night. My sister works for a vet and the are thinking it's an enlarged prostate after they did a work up. He was supposedly neutered but we think he has a teste that didn't drop. He is getting tests so we are still hopefull. Anyway, I may have to be making this desicion too in the near future. I love him to death and don't want him to suffer. I feel your pain, this would be the hardest thing I've ever had to decide. Sammie will be in my thoughts as well.
