That thought had crossed my mind as well, but I thought it would be terribly self-serving. I have some really cool, if inexpensive, items to replace whatever I take. Thank goodness for a plethora of "dollar" stores. What I'm wondering, however, is how long it will take for his "long term girlfriend" to not be okay with him not only having a female roommate, but with him doing extra little favors for you...unless she's not aware of the added attention, which situation has incendiary devices all its own. It's nice now, but the human brain can concoct "hypothetical" scenarios out of situations like this that might eventually require you to buy body armor and turn your part of the house into a "panic room". You could always test her knowledge and ask her if she'd like one of the lovely cookies he made for you the next time she's over there. I scared the crap out of a dorm roommate I had once. He was a former gang member in Oakland, CA. One night I apparently sat up rapidly, pointed at the wall across the room and yelled "They're HERE!" He was so freaked out that he grabbed a baseball bat from under his bed and slept with it the rest of the night. He said I was lucky he didn't use it to help me sleep a bit more deeply. That's hilarious! I can't imagine what the people who find those caches after you must be thinking. I'm thinking about saving all the miscellaneous crap I get at local tech conventions and using that, but I thought it was more representative of me to put gag gifts in the caches I find. Sorry, that was a pre-bedtime drive-by post. Yes, geocaching is finding hidden caches of knick-knacks with a GPS device. If nothing else, it tends to familiarize you with all of the public parks in your area, as most caches are (supposed to be) on public property. We were only able to find one of the four I plotted, but I read the online logs for the others and it looks like other people were having no luck with the other three as well. It's also cool to read the log that everyone who finds a particular cache is supposed to sign to see who was there before you and what they left/took. Cora, who knows I'm a geek and usually just tolerates my various dork-antics, really enjoyed our geocaching adventures. We're planning to place our own cache soonl.
