Hmmm, it was my understanding that top roping is what you have to DO to get the rope to the top, before anyone else can climb. At least, that's the way it was explained to me at the climbing gym we frequented. I may need to check my information again. My boss said it's against business policy to giggle this much, so I'll have to read it later...like in two minutes when he's gone. Thanks for sharing. What about pointing out the window once each time you ride and saying "THERE they are!" with no explanation? Or taking some cheddar up with you and asking everyone on the plane if they want to cut the cheese? Or making the "bibbabibbabibbabibbabibba" noise with you finger flapping your lips for the entire ride up? Speaking into an imaginary microphone in a cheesy announcer voice and saying "Welcome to the wonderful world of Ex-Lax". Asking everyone to touch your "good luck wart". Explain that Depends undergarments make freefall a less stressful experience for you. I just meant the shoes and chalk bag...at least for free climbing. I have a harness, but I can't top-rope, so I don't see any reason to buy rope at this point in time. Before I started skydiving, I was getting ready to take a top-rope class. One stop at that really cool place we could see from the freeway every time we drove home from rock climbing, and I aspired for more altitude and less chalk. When I'm conscious and aware, I try to do the polite thing and lift-go-replace. Thankfully, my girfriend has a "pick your battles" policy, and this is never an issue. Along the same lines, when I was a child, my mother covered the floor of the bathroom my brother and I shared with carpet. CARPET! So, instead of lid issues, you had littleboys with bad aim issues. Did anyone else ever encounter a CARPETED BATHROOM? And does this not seem ludicrous? Edit: not to hijack this thread or anything. Geez! I forgot that I even HAVE rock climbing gear! Ever since I started skydiving, my rock climbing stuff has been sleeping the long sleep. those pics make me want to take it all out and dust it off for those times when I'm not skydiving...maybe it's better if I just let it all sleep. Amen brother. I watched the union BS cripple operations at a US Postal Service associate office, and what I learned was that it taught the employees all the wrong things. Like filing grievances if someone looks at you wrong. Even if it is eventually dismissed, it still takes timet o investigate. But the union reps LOVE that, because it gets THEM out of work when they have to deal with grievances. Saturday - rained out. Sunday - Helped run manifest 0 jumps. Edit: But I had a blast learning the manifest functions. It gives you an entirely new level of respect for your manifest folks when you help them out for more than a few minutes.
