Hey, every little bit helps. It's how we all learn in this sport. My coaches all say essentially that: stand (press down with your legs) on the wind. It's just that I tend to A) not trust my body enough, and B) not pay close enough attention to exactly what my legs are doing. If you watch that video again, you can see that there are times when i might have held it if I had just been more aware of what my legs were really doing. Focus is what I need. One of my coaches suggested flying a few dives on my back and concentrating on getting just my legs in the right position on my back, building that muscle memory. Any thoughts on that? Wide, but not flailing around like empty pants legs. It's remembering to keep control of my legs, not just exerting control on them from time to time, that seems to be my dilemma. At least on this video. Maybe I'll have something better to show after ZHills this weekend. That's what I keep hearing too, that if you use those suits to help stabilise early on, you have problems again when you lose the suit. It looks like it's all about practice, practice, practice. I'm up for it. I've been looking for coaches, but so far, most of them have been so busy that they only have time to give me some ground schooling. A good friend of mine at our dz, who posts here as Auryn, has been giving me some advice and has offered to do some video jumps with me to help me work on my burgeoning free-fly skills. (whoof! Benadryl really makes you loopy, huh? Damn allergies). I'm gonna go plant my face on my keyboard now. Yeah, I just got word from the "boss". We're going this weekend. She doesn't want to wait until she's back at work and all stressed out to go. So, we're going to be there Saturday. Thanks bro. I'll keep working on it, and hopefully I'll have some improvements to show in the near future. Once we're all world-class free-flyers, we should have a boogie where we show all of our first-time videos all day and night. It can be quite humbling. Well, it helps to know that the majority of free-flyers go through this, but it can get fairly frustrating. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm going to work on it more this weekend, either at my home DZ or at ZHills. Kiwi, the music is "Serenity" by Godsmack. The woman who did my video editing put it on there. It seems to fit. The only reason I can stand to watch it is so that I can remind myself how much work I still need. My legs? I've seen unused marionettes with more leg control. There's one point that I love, where I seem to almost get it, and then I kick one leg out like I'm going to push off of something to save me. She HAD a mindwarp (I bought us matching ones while we were on student status), and she lost it on deployment once without even realising it. We'll stick with the Z-1 for now until she decides she wants another open face. If it makes you feel any better, I bought her a full-face helmet, thereby elminating the possibility of future kiss passes...unless I can convince her to go back to wearing her hockey helmet.
