I've seen that vid... It is sorta funny. Ya know I realize it's tough to survive in any business but I'm sick of big companies (in all industries) whining about it and getting government $$$ or discounts because they sell their "products" at a loss. If a city wants to pay them to fly their when the route is a money loser, they should either do so on a sliding scale or a flate rate where they make $$$ just on that or at least break even. Of course the biggest issue with all of these large companies is there aren't really large companies anymore. They're a conglomeration of subsidiaries, franchises, merged entities, etc. which happen to be operating under the same name. Sorta like mini governments... When flying from Philly - Charlotte on a full flight with my rig in a bag when getting on the Flight attendent said there may not be room for my bag and she said she'd check it. The thing you are forgetting is kids don't just show up to a DZ by themselves, someone has to bring them.
