Ok eflynn, what do you have to say about this.... The NFL mandates one black person be interviewed for any head coach opening. Did you know that the Lions contacted NUMEROUS black candidates and wanted to interview them? The black candidates opted not to accept the offer to interview because they knew the Lions already had somebody in mind for the job. The lions attempted to do what they have been mandated to but were not able to due to circumstances beyond their control. Yet they were still fined 200K. Is that fair to the lions organization? They got fucked out of 200K even though they tried to do what jackson deems best for the league. These guys (black candidates) felt they were basically a 3rd quote (sales speak for needing something to satisfy a requirement) and wanted nothing to do with it. Could that have perhaps created more tension? I would be ashamed and embarassed of a leader if he was representing me solely based on skin color.

I think he was referring to what we consider "white trash". Not just necessarily someone who is poor, but someone who takes no pride in themselves and is generally lower class. I do not take pride in the so called "white trash" of our community, perhaps he was expressing his disdain for what he views as the equivelant of the "white trash" in the black community. I dont think there is anything wrong with that.

Nobody knows. The point being made here is that African Americans dont have anything to fight for today (as far as I am concerned). They have ALL the same rights that any other person has.

So you think if I gathered a million white people in one location for the sole purpose of promoting WHITE unity and WHITE power that would go over well and be allowed to take place? I doubt it. What does color have to do with it? Is that not their right as an owner? And isnt hiring people with experience common practice in big business?

Crazy thing is when I bought the bike brand new I beat the hell out of them on the price and got one hell of a deal. When I totaled it it was only 3 months old. My insurance company gave me blue book value which turned out to be more than I paid for

What are you talking about? This doesnt make any sense. Once again, THIS SHIT SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH SKIN COLOR! It has to do with somebody being able to prove they can do a good job, having the experience to do so and delivering on what they promise. Is it possible that perhaps there just isnt that many exceptional head coach candidates that happen to be black??? Is the oppossite also perhaps true with running backs and NBA centers?? Could it possibly be true that the best of breed just happen to have black skin??? Do all the white guys that get beat out for these position cry racism? No, and I am sure they dont base it on skin color, they base it on SKILL. If the NFL was racist (as the group is suggesting by claiming that black coaches are not being considered for the positions) then can someone please tell me why the fuck 70% (or whatever the number is) of the players are black???

What rise? All the black coaches in the NFL were hired before the mandate. Do you even know when the mandate was instituted and what has transpired since then? Obviously not.

The NFL can do whatever the hell they want. Of course they can do (almost) whatever the want. Does that make it right? Was it right for Jesse Jackson to form an alliance and threaten lawsuits and put pressure on the NFL to institute this sort of mandate? What if I pushed for a mandate giving a white man preferential treatment. Would I be considered a racist? Hell yes I would.

Once again, please explain to me what there is to understand about the black community? Eagerly awaiting your response. So since you say it is necessary to mandate black coaches are interviewed I guess that means you agree that a mandate should be in place stating all teams must try out one white athlete for all running back positions? Is that correct?

MEOW you keep bringing it up in this forum, why don't you follow your own advice and GET OVER IT. There is nothing for me to get over. I did not bring up slavery in my initial comment. It was brought up to me and I simply responded to it. I would consider the source of the slavery statements as the one that needs to get over it. Once again, back to my original post. Is it right for the NFL to institute the mandate it has? If so, should the NFL also be mandated to try out at least one white person for all running back positions seeing that the majority if not all of running back positions are held by black athletes?????

On certain topics we will need to agree to disagree. I simply believe the black community blames way to many misfortunes on skin color. That is my belief. In reference to my original post. Do you believe it is fair and just that the NFL is mandated to interview black candidates or else face a fine?

Assuming it's true, it changes nothing. Assuming it's true, it's still wrong. It doesnt change your view on so called retribution that the black community believes it is owed? How do you know you yourself does not come from a generation of slave owners? Wouldnt that make you just as guilty as you believe the white man to be???

[replyone of the first things that went through my head was "Being Black you don't get smart with cops unless you want to get fucked up or fucked with. That right there is your problem. Why did you bring your skin color into the cop situation??? What does being black have to do with mouthing off to a cop and facing the consequences??? If I was ever harrassed by a black cop or mouthed off to one the last thing i would do is think that he is being a dick to me because i am white. I would simply think either he is an asshole or perhaps I am being an asshole....Yes, sometimes skin color is an issue, but to rely on that as an excuse or assume that is the cause is a scapegoat. There is way to much crying going on about racial injustices. My point here is that black people tend to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Society does not owe the black man anything.
