Thanks Vinny! It was a really good weekend, I am really happy I went. Seeing you guys "at home" As Arnie would say: "I'll be back" Iwan

Here are two shots from one of the tribute jumps. Iwan

Allright, I haven't called manifest, but I am going to be there for the speedstars as well... See you Saturday! Iwan
-
It's basically just a fire, but in the woods with Cypres trees... The Cypres "fires" if you are falling too fast, too low. It automatically opens the reserve parachute. Iwan

It was more like, ok.. don't stare... and then f*** it, this looks too good to not look, so I looked, didn't stare, I just appreciated the view... very nice! Iwan
-
Ahhh.. that's why she was laughing!! ha ha, I thought she was laughing about something else Iwan
-
Are you referring to the "Roy, you've got to stop hurting that little girl.." comment? Yes sir... I am for sure.. That's what I said in my earlier post too. They are "complaining" to hear about your sexlife.. I think of all the people posting here, I might be one of the few that actually heard about it Iwan
-
Why? I am sitting at work with some quiet people, I need a laugh now and then.. And by the way.. I don't think you really heard anything yet... They are just making you think Let's call it their love life then? Makes it sound a little more innocent. Have fun Chopchop and Roysplaything.. you know what I said two weeks ago right? Just be carefull, that's all.. Iwan

Read the other thread, and to be short: I use the standard conceptus tongue switch that I use on my Rebel 2000, it works fine. Iwan
-
Hee ChopChop! Congrats on your Sky birthday!! Wish I could say the same for the number of jumps in that short a time. the 4 digit jumpnumber is getting close too Iwan

I jump a Triathlon as well at a very windy dropzone (Byron, CA) so I am used to flaring at a certain point. A couple of weeks ago I went to another dropzone and had hardly any wind, you just have to adjust the altitude to flare at a little bit to make your no wind landings work as well. It's a bit harder, the first landing I almost had to run faster than my legs allowed me to.. but then the next jump you flare a little higher. Just my 2 cts. Iwan

First of all, congrats on getting off of student status... you know what that means right? the big B word!! BEEEEEEEEEEEEEER Anyways, about pulling your ripcord.. I would try pulling it on the ground a couple of times instead of finding out high up there that you can't get it out.. I know it sounds kind of stupid, but this is a very essential part of your skydive, that you want to make sure you can take care of! Just my 2 cts... Iwan

I wasn't clear, I understood his parents are going to be in Hollister this weekend and there is going to be a service there as well. I was asking for the info on that. Thanks, Iwan
-
All, Can you please post the specifics of the memorial service and ash dive? What day, time etc. Even though I didn't know Paul all that well, I ran into him at the Byron Boogie and in Lodi the weekend after. I would like to make it to the service. Thanks, Iwan

Dude, you missed it. It was in the Bay Area a couple of weeks ago. It played in San Jose, I don't remember the name of the theater though, it was some kind of museum? It'll come back somewhere in another IMAX theater. Iwan

But you could be a perfect "Birdman" rodeo skygirl ;) even with a 100 jumps. You should be able to run laps on TallGuys back, ha ha!! Hmm.. sounds like a challenge doesn't it TallGuy? Iwan
-
We won't make you choose Lany When are you going to join us up there by yourself? You looked great on the big screen at BoyFallDown's place on Sunday, too bad you had that guy on your back.. Iwan

My test was slightly different, my camera was set to manual, iso 200 , camera set at 500 / F8 ( what I would be using for skydiving) During the test I tried not to fill the buffer, which you probably did the whole time? If you go ahead and try to make about a picture a second for the whole 60 seconds, you'll get much better results. Iwan
-
I haven't used the 15mm for skydiving yet.. but I will soon. From the pictures I've taken with it around the house, there is no vignette... Iwan
-
I use a 28mm on my Rebel 2000, why? Because everybody was using that, and advised me to buy that to start with. I like the special effects of using a wider lens (I bought a 15mm Sigma Fisheye lens) but it requires you to fly closer flying, and not everybody likes the fisheye effect of it. I think (from what I heard from other cameramen) the 28mm is just a really good lens to start with. Why they're expensive.? I just figure you get what you pay for Iwan

I checked a couple of pics, and they were around 2.5 Mb, some a little more, some less, but none of them were 2 Mb though, they were all larger. I don't know what kind of CF card you have, but with my cheap Sandisk 128 Mb card, I could already take 40 pics in 60 seconds (large mode) Iwan
-
Ok, here she goes. Some tests with the Ultra II card (512 MB) I can take between 42 and 47 pictures in 60 seconds, when my camera is set to large mode. When set to RAW format, I can take somewhere around 16. Use your judgement as to whether this is worth an additional 50 bucks for the memory card, it is not much faster than my standard 128 that I already had. I am going to keep this one though, since I wanted a bigger CF card anyways, but if I had to go and buy one for my Digital Rebel, I would go with a cheapo consumer CF card.... Iwan
