What part of Argentina are you going to? There are 24 dz's registered on here. Iwan

Congratulations to you both! Iwan

Key is that as soon as you stop taking pictures, the camera starts writing to the CF, even after only 1 shot. That was the problem with mine when I was not using the stereo plug. Iwan

You are kidding right? I thought you were coming??? Come on GFD!! Please? We need to do more FF jumps! -
It started as a pretty small fire that the people at the factory tried to put out themselves. When they called the firedept, they didn't send over enough capacity at first or something. Nobody really knows what exactly happened, everybody is pointing at someone else in this case. Basically there was something like 300% more fireworks stored there than the firedept. thought there was.... So I guess since there was smoke and some fireworks, the camera guy just decided to film it. Iwan

This happened 2 years ago or something, this factory was based in an actual neighbourhood, which was pretty much wiped off the planet.. They are just starting to build houses there again now. This was one of the most horrible accidents... I saw stills of the neighbourhood afterwards, and it looked like a war zone. My grandparents live in that city so it scared the £$%$ out of me when this happened. Lucky enough they live far away enough from that area that they didn't get hurt or loose their house. Iwan

Boo! I was hoping that drivers in other countries improved significantly before they turned 25. I don't know if that is true, just shop around for car rentals.. I've rented a couple of times but I don't remember getting charged extra because I was under 25.. In Europe people go through very rigid driver's training before they get a license. If you are under 21 it might be a problem, but 24 should be no problem to rent a car without the extra fees. But then.. I was a "local" when I rented, I am from Holland so when I rented there and I showed them a license, they knew I could drive ha ha!! If you're planning on visiting Holland, pm me.. I'll tell you were to go (besides Amsterdam ) Iwan

Any DZ.com boogie New Year's Eve party dress code?
vdschoor replied to blueshrew's topic in The Bonfire
Just what kind of temps are we looking at? You all are making me nervous! Just be prepared mama!! Bring fleece sweaters for sure.. I don't know temperatures, but I do know cold... Iwan -
I close them up a little too, although I don't hold my chin.. I guess it has something to do with my student days, jumping with a rip cord.. I like to reduce the burble above me a little when I deploy. Your fallrate picks up a little maybe, but that is only for 2 seconds, since you do all this after you threw your pilot chute... Iwan

Aha.. so everybody should just come down to Perris, jump our asses off down there, and generate some cash flow so they can pump that extra cash into the DC-9!! See you guys there soon, I still haven't been out to Perris

NOPE! THOSE, dear Mark-Shark, are the engines for the jet!

Yup.. Google indexes everything, unless the website admin tells google not to by placing a robots.txt file on the webserver. I don't know, maybe Sangiro wants it to be indexed by Google.. If it is a concern, the fix is pretty easy, PM him and see if he wants to do anything about it. Iwan

I think it is different for different setups, I am not a physician, but I would think keeping your neck as straight as possible would be the best, at least that's what I do. After I pitch I wait a split second and then grab the risers and look up at the canopy to see what's going on up there. So pretty much what I do is look at the horizon. Twisting your head might be better with a sidemount to prevent risers grabbing your camera, but I don't know how this will treat your neck when you would have a slammer opening.. Someone jumping a side mount could give better feedback here. Iwan

He he.. I really enjoyed the Birdman jumps at the Byron Boogie, but just not enough yet to justify buying one.. who knows maybe one day. I'll stick with the wings just under my arms for a while first Iwan
-
Congrats JP!! You just had to have wings in between your legs as well huh? I'll see you this weekend probably, I guess you're going to be flying that now. Iwan
-
Yes, and very much so! Get the conceptus switch, just make sure it has the stereo plug on it, and it will work great! I am jumping it like that, and it is working just fine. Iwan

Same here, I've done business with them. I was a little disappointed with the speed of the deliveries, but then I am spoiled by sites like amazon I guess. Overall my experience with them was good.. I think you just had bad luck, and if I were you.. call AMEX and get your money back...

I agree, with popcorn like that you only have to stick your hand in the bag and the next bite just sticks to your fingers....

If you want a camera that's really small, with still decent picture quality, try to find a digital elph. Not the newest one out there, since you don't care about picture quality, just one from that series. They have a metal case (and it helps, I've dropped mine a couple of times and it is still "as new") and they are really small. Try to find an S200 or something you should be able to find one for 200 bucks or so. Iwan
-
Deuce, you are cracking me up!! It's true though, but one thing.. doors don't hurt my camera And there are no snagpoints... Iwan
-
That depends on whether you consider it work, in which case you're correct, or whether you think of it as an interesting project for a couple of evenings, in which case the time is just part of the hobby. I have done a lot of glassfiber projects (not much with carbon fiber), it's not difficult and quite rewarding, especially as you can customize the product exactly to your needs. In that case, I would do it too. I've never worked with the stuff and almost had to (lost the top of my helmet ) but Bonehead came to the rescue, they still had a mold for it. If you see it as a fun challenging project and you've done stuff with glassfiber before it should not be too hard. Share some pics once you are done! Iwan
