Hmm.. I have to go home around lunch now to pick up my camera helmet. I wasn't expecting "work" That way I can catch video AND stills at the same time..

Not really huh? Specially if Lany cooks her famous catfish That stuff is GOOD (hint hint... )

I am getting a little worried here, tonight we are having a little firewire party at the Garden House, but I keep getting weird IM's about this whole event.. I guess it could turn into some mad Byron style party.. Firewire parties with ChopChop, Plaything and Girlfalldown .. what can we expect this time???

Knows how to fly backwards in a sit very well..
-
She was running, this was our "Catching Girlfalldown" jump. This was after our "Finding Geno" jump on Saturday...
-
Me too!! But beeing a foreigner and all, I didn't have a frikking clue what I was saying at that point..
-
I will be there, just not with my own suit yet.. I think I am setup with a suit already .. Be scared.. ha ha..
-
She was trying to stay away from the scary camera men
-
Quick quick!! It's on!!
-
Check this picture, there's just something about female camerafliers trying to geek the camera...
-
you are going to be sooo happy! The only reason I don't have a suit yet is because I "invested" a little too agressive in camera equipment this last year.. so I am taking it a little easy for now.

I went out with MadJohn and TallGuy on Sunday for another Birdman jump. the last two I did were at the Byron Boogie (end of September last year), and I was just itching for some more "suit time" My experience at the Boogie wasn't really convincing.. I liked it, but not enough to pull out the credit card or dig into the savings account. Since a lot of people that fly the suit DO do this, I figured I should give this another shot, knowing it could be an expensive jump in the end I got out of the plane, opened the arms and spread the legs.. WOW! Instead of beeing kicked all over the place with the suit (happened on the last jumps) I was flying! A little bit after that I hear someone yelling next to me and MadJohn flies up right next to me.. We're touching for a second and then he takes off.. I follow him by changing my body position slightly, and I see TallGuy flying over to the right.. I think I am hooked.. dammit.. This was by far the coolest thing so far! I am going to jump it again next week.... untill I can fly this puppy well enough that I can be safe in a SF3... (Jumped an old Classic) Maybe by the time the birdman boogie in Eloy comes around I'll be on "the crack" as well... Iwan

Andrea, Do you already have 5.0 or not? Basically I would hold off on getting early versions of Acrobat 6.0 5.0 had problems when it was first released as well, but now it is very good and stable. Just stay away from early releases of new software Iwan

Viking, I think McGowan jumps the D2h, but it might be the D1 though, I am not sure. It sure works well for him! The shots I've seen in magazines and in the Bent Prop are amazing. Switching between camera systems is expensive, if you already have the Nikkor lenses, I would definitely go with a Nikon digital. I already had Canon lenses so the choice for me was easy.. Wait untill the D70 comes out Iwan

I didn't want to reveil your identity... since you might get even more stalkers I'll post some more pics tonight.

I was cracking up, I sat in the back of the plane with the camera on when they were exiting. They tried to get out the door two at a time.. didn't quite work out of the King Air.. Cool to see them out on the weekend though. Iwan

Ouch.. I forgot another case of beer, just wanted to set the record straight here.. 0:11:2 First tandem jump that bought my stills, and my first landing out in Byron! It was OUT allright, landed about 2 miles from the airport in a cow field. Instead of shooting us, the farmer drove us back to the airport!

Who's going to the Skydive Chicago Expo this weekend?
vdschoor replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in The Bonfire
I think you need someone to carry you down the stairs after you're passed out as well -
0:11:1 First customer that bought digital stills this weekend, 11 nice jumps. 6 tandems and 5 fun jumps! One "try to catch Girlfalldown" jump with Chopchop and Girlfalldown! Iwan

Mike, take your time and give "the neck" some rest. I am glad you are ok, and up and about allready. See you in Perris! Iwan

I wanted to clarify what I meant here, as I got some questions on this statement. I am extremely happy with the Digital Rebel at this point, and as a first digital SLR I couldn't have made a better choice. I meant that as I get more proficient in photography in general, my demands on the camera will go up I am sure. Right now if I would go for another 35mm SLR, I would not buy the Rebel 2000 again (or the newer equivalent of that camera) but would probably go with the Elan 7 or something. What I am saying is the Digital Rebel is an entry level digital SLR, that in my opinion fully meets the requirements for freefall photography, BUT it has limitations (that I have not yet met by the way) Iwan

Ouch.. We might have to make that a long weekend then Some recovery time needed on Monday before heading back to work. It would be nice to see you again Vicki!! This time I'll be jumping again
-
Hmm if there's a whole party of Brits coming down there, I might call BigBen and head south for that weekend as well! See you there!

Kodak has announced that the 14n will also be produced as the 14n/c with a Canon lens mount. J Now we're talking! Well, if mcGowan blesses the camera who am I to challenge that! I better start saving. Iwan
