Hmm this thread is starting to go weird.. I think overall it's up to the parents, if you think circumcision is the right thing to do, do it. As stated earlier there are no (real) medical reasons to do it, so it's the parents call. If there are religious reasons to do this, do it. If you feel it's the right thing to do for your kid, do it. Basically what it comes down to is that the parents should decide if that is what they want or not and do what they feel is best. For me personally, my kids (if I am lucky enough to have some one day) will not be circumcised (unless my partner thinks otherwise of course), I am not and I don't see a reason why my kids should be.

Yes it shoots at 8.5 fps, but it is still not a full frame camera. And I think that is what Michael is after.. Why do you want 8.5 fps? I agree that it is nice for exit shots, but even with 2.5 fps (like I have on my Digital Rebel) you can get that nice exit shot. I would buy the next level up digital camera next time though, I wouldn't go with the entry level camera anymore. The Kodak has a 14 Megapixel resolution and many other things, as well as a mount for Nikon type lenses. Iwan

My first 300 something jumps where without a Cypress.. First I couldn't afford it, later I rather spent the money on jumps and other stuff. Just lately (for the last 200 or so) jumps I have a Cypress and to be honest, the only reason I put it in there is : what if someone takes me out? I see it as a life insurance when it comes to that. If it has to be sent back, I will jump without one for a while, I really don't care. Iwan

You put an interesting story here.. I am from Europe and not "snipped" as you call it. The whole deal with "not talking about it" is why boys / men do get these infections. It's part of raising a kid to teach them how to keep themselves clean. It was never an issue to talk about stuff like that with my parents, but if you are uncomfortable with that, that is totally fine. If you don't teach them to wipe their ass properly, they are going to stink in class.. to me, that is the exact same thing.. you teach them along the way how things are done. Just teach them the tricks on how to keep it clean when they are old enough to do it themselves, and explain why it is important to keep it clean and he's all set for a future without infections By the way, on the decision to do it or not.. I know it is usual for boys here to get it done.. If you want to have it done, do it.. If not, just tell them how to keep it clean

Ouch, that is not a very flattering review of that camera! Michael, I would give it some serious thought if all of this is true and save for the 1Ds.. But then you have to change your whole setup from Nikon to Canon.. tough call. Iwan

I am using the TRV 17 with a .5 lens and on my Rebel I use the 15 mm Sigma (which works out to be about 24mm on a 35mm) I am really happy with it, even the compatibility between the two. The digital stills are a little wider than the video but that's no real issue (at least not for me) 17mm is not a very common lens though, I just checked on eBay and there are a couple of Canon FD lenses at 17mm / F4, they might fit on the Digital Rebel with a converter or something. I prefer to get lenses that are made specially for the Canon, since I use the camera on the ground a lot too I like the lenses that can use autofocus and all that.

That sucks big time.. It's only been last weekend that I jumped, and I miss it already, I can't even imagine not jumping for 5 months!! It's funny you just posted this, I was thinking the exact same thing.

Do not cut the wires.. "custom" made wiring will mess up the digital camera and you will not be able to trust your switch. It will fail on you when you think you have the shot... Get in touch with Conceptus (or your local gear store) and buy the stock switch with the stereo plug allready on it. Yes it should, but I don't use autofocus in freefall. I can test this out if you want to? It is not continuous.. I know with the mono plug it is trying to focus continuously.. It will focus when you press the switch is what I assume.. again, I will test this tonight. I'll try to find out for you. I don't know.. I haven't experienced this.. so I would say you are imagining things Iwan

Things like that are much more difficult then you think. Especially at night after 7 beers. Since it was the day after safety day, so I figured I'd leave the beers out of the story.. So you're saying next time we should light up the area around the BBQ more when you do your night swoops?

next time try to handle the weiner with your bun instead your bare hands. Well.. we wanted to give her a bun before she got on the plane so she would have it ready for the whole action.. but we forgot about it.

I heard she came flying in, dreaming about hot weenies, swooped the BBQ, grabbed a hot weenie off of it as she flew by, realized she was about to fly into the creeping area, carved past it (oversteering because she was burning her hand on the hot weenie), ended up in the ditch behind it with her thumb stuck in the mud.
