  1. I am curious on what you guys think about this. I was driving home from student teaching today and I heard on the news that they evacuated a whole terminal because they found a pair of scissors in the terminal. Also, I heard they made a plane en route to Puerto Rico turn around and come back. Are we being TOO cautious and/or scared? Or is all of this necessary for our safety? Chime in here.
  2. Hey Chris. Thanks for the info! Glad to hear someone who knows what's going on. Do you know of anyone in the Ohio area or a place I can find out more? I can't seem to find any information about a balloon company that takes jumpers. Thanks man. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

    Guys...

I would have to agree with the masses here with the rendevous. Work to live...don't live to work.
  5. I met Shawn and Roxy there. Pretty cool couple there. I want to move south now. heh heh heh.. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  6. Laura and I would like to stop by WFFC for a couple of days on our way out to Colorado this summer. We will head out there during the beginning of August, so this would be perfect. Right off the interstate that we take there. Woohoo!!
  7. There are a couple of guys who do this at Skydive Space Center. They don't make it "zoom like", but it is a low turn to produce some more speed. It is pretty awesome the first time because you are like "what the hell is he doing?!?". Then he turns low and has a nice landing. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  8. Just to let you know that I got a bunch of pictures on the website. You just go to the "news" section and then "view photos" for that one. I have video (one of a skydive with Laura and I) and more photos coming. Hope you like them! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  9. Cool....I was hoping for some direction in life.
  10. Hey there all.......wow! I come back from Florida have have thousands of posts to catch up on. It has only taken me about 3 hours, but I think I have filtered through it all. Seems there has been the same old, same old and then some. We had a great time. We only jumped four (4) times at Space Center (which I REALLY like). We kinda got weathered out/broke for Zhills. However, with getting to party with Chuck in Key West, taking a cruise, and then 100% relaxation for another week after that down by Ft Myers, I can say that it was a good time. It's gonna take me awhile to get all the pics and such online, but I'll be sure to post when there are. We have about 90 min of video, 50 good pictures and stories. I sure hope you are all doing well and I really missed being here. BTW, congrats to the SoCal people on the record. And JumperPaula......I think you have an obligation to meet.
  11. Hey All. I am curious about how you all do your baking of the helmet. I know they come with instructions, but I want your personal ways of doing it. I figure some of you have some great tricks and tips to make it fit just right. Laura and I both have the new ones and mine is VERY uncomfortable. I cooked it twice when I got it, but it feels like crap now. So......give up your secrets!!
  12. What?!?!? I thought you were going to the SDC. Guess I'll have to talk to you when I get back. I'm out like the fat kid in dodge ball. See ya. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  13. Hey Dave....I must say that the Bonehead Mindwarp is NOT very comfortable. Laura and I both bought one (for $180 each, or so) and I find that everytime I put it on, it seems to dig into my head. It feels really hard and is just plum uncomfortable. For that kind of feel, you could spend much less. Just my .02. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  14. Think about it......everytime you make a skydive, you have to save your own life everytime. There is nothing else that isn't dangerous where you have to save your own life. "Nuff said. Skydiving is dangerous. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  15. Hahaha!!! Whatever works, I guess. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  16. Dave....let them know that if they pay for it, Laura and I will renew our vows. They would just have to pay for the cost to put it on. That would be pretty awesome!! Let me know if you do. Regards, Brandon JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  17. Damn, Satan666....were ALL of the other usernames taken? JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  18. Everyone I have met are honest, as far as I know. It's a shame that people would actually do this. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  19. For me, safety is always #1. Before the jump, on the plane, during the jump, under canopy, walking back to the hanger, packing my shit and then all over again. This sport is too dangerous to not be taken seriously and be as safe as possible. Before I jump, I always check all my gear and the gear of others that I can. While on the plane, I go over my stuff once again and give pin checks to all those that put their back to me. On the jump, I always check my alti ALL the time and keep an eye on the ground until break-off and pull time. Then, when it is under canopy time, I always keep people in view and set-up my landing so there is no one around me. Yeah, I load my canopy more than I probably should, but I like it and I fly it conservatively. Also, I am willing to accept responsiblity if something happens to me. So far, 9 jumps on the 169 and not one of them has been near "rough". Finally, when packing, I make sure that everything is packed as good as I can and I check over my container/harness for anything that might have happened on the last jump. This is what I do because as Skybytch said, "If you do everything right and have the latest in safety gear, you can still get hurt or die". So, if I do as much as I possibly can, I can feel good in knowing that I at least did what I could. So, YES, safety is absolutely #1 in my book on all parts of the skydive. Remember, if you screwup some jump because you busy dealing with a problem and/or watching your alti, BIG DEAL, you will still have the chance to jump again. But if you didn't screwup the jump and had a problem, then you may never jump again. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  20. Allright AD.....you need to get your ass out there and JUMP now!! Congrats on finding some gear. Oh yeah...you owe beer now for the FIRST "borrowed-gear-for-free-that-you-get-to-keep-until-you-buy-your-own". Hehe.....anything for free brew, right? Congrats. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  21. Damn. Well, if they are still closed, then I guess we're gonna have to spend those 2 days on the beach and on the boat. Oh well. That Skydive Naples was a "maybe' until I got the update. Thanks for the info!!
  22. Hey Base698....you been to Mexico to jump the cave? Just wondering. That looks like a helluva time. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  23. That is a sweet ass picture. I like how you framed it with the CASA. Does GulfCoastXtreme post here? That name doesn't sound familiar. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  24. in regards to your jumpsuit and stains.....have you taken it to a good dry cleaners?? one of the AFF/TM guys at our DZ sez that the dry cleaners can get ANYTHING out. try it!! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
  25. Hell, I only have 44 jumps, but the reason is that I dont really have any memorable jumps. I think you need some time in the sport (most of the time) to get some really memorable ones. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.
