Thank you for all the info! Yeah, I talked to someone on the phone (a woman) and she said that we would be staying at a house down the road....not in a corner of the hanger. Hehehe... Sounds like a great time and a great place. I am a bit relieved to be jumping at Space Center instead of Sebastian just because it will be less busy. Since I'm still learning on my canopy, I like to have my room. We'll be down there on the 16th in the evening to do 2 jumps or so, and then we'll be jumping ALL DAY the 17th and 18th. Also, hopefully a jump or 2 on the 19th before we head off to Key West. Blue skies all! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

What is the best way to find out about these USPA Safety Days? Are they going to be posted/announced on the USPA website or should you just try to find out from the dropzone? Also, if anyone has been to one or helps put them on, what do you think about them? We are thinking/hoping to go to one, but I'm not sure if our DZ will have one. If so, we'll be there, but I just want some of your feedback on what you thought of it and if you recommend it. Also, what do they do? Thanks! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Yeah...Laura and I were planning on going to the WFFC this year also for a few days on our way to Colorado. That is a shame. I guess we may have to try and stop by SDC for SummerFest or something, eh? Ahhhhh......I think I need a towel. That sounds really awesome. I think it's only about 6 hours away from me, so that's not too bad. Hope it all works itself out! Blues. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Hey all. I am hoping some of you can help me out here. My wife and I are headed to Skydive Space Center in less than two weeks and their website is down. I was hoping to get some information on there and stuff and be able to see some pictures and such. Now, I have called them and reserved a team room for us to stay in since it is cheap and Key West and the cruise is killing the money. So, since we need money to jump (6.5 days of it), I figured it would make it a touch cheaper. Can you just give me some of the information about it that you have found? I know it is like $18 to 15,000', Grand Caravan, big landing area (see attached), but that is about it. Can someone point out which part of the airport the DZ is? And any other info you have would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

So when is the "2nd half" of those pictures out for the public? Very cool, Kevin.

I have posted a couple over there, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of activity when I go, so I always end up cruising back over here. Crap. I really like the set-up and look of Cyberskydive.com though. Oh yeah.....I think it's, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Maybe that is true here. I wish there were more people over there. One more thing.....if you have a skydiving related website, SIGN UP for the banner x-change at Cyberskydive.com. I have only seen his site banner and Airann.com. What about his other DZ down in Arizona. Coolidge, I think? I don't think any of his DZs are GMs. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Gotta say Richmond (Aerodrome Sky Sports). They have some great planes, great office staff and the instructors are wonderful and very helpful. The jumpers there are awesome and I cannot wait till it warms back up so Laura and I can get back in the air with some people. Woohoo!!!!! Richmond "THE" Boogie!! I can't wait!! De ja vu....isn't this in other places on these forums? Hmmm..... JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

You know, you could probably get a used Hornet for a VERY good price from someone. I know you probably couldn't sell your current and get it for the same price, but it probably wouldn't be too much more. Just an idea since the Hornets don't sell for as much as other brands of the same "class" (PD, Icarus, etc). JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Hey Lisa.....I guess I meant that I would do tandems a LOT during the summers since I wouldn't have another "real" job. Maybe something that is 4 days per week and then spend Fri - Sun at the DZ doing tandems. Anyway, I know you are just looking out for my safety. Thank you. Picture? I didn't see a picture (or link to one). JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Thank you to everyone! It is so awesome to see that you took the time to help out. I think one reason I really want to tandem is because I have the "teacher bug" in me. I will be stduent teaching this coming month (March - May) and will graduate as a Spanish teacher. I guess I would love to spend my summers and holidays teaching about my favorite hobby/sport. I guess by all the replies, I need to keep going back to the gym and then working on my RW and my canopy skills. I am really excited to do this and cannot wait to get to that point in my jumping career where I can share this awesome sport with others. *sigh*. What a feeling!! Thank you again and blue skies!! Have a great Friday! ------------------- Weather Prediction Blooper This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any? There was a female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked, "So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?" Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too because they were laughing so hard! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Awesome Lew! When you gonna start going back to Richmond? JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Hey there TMs of dropzone.com..... I am wondering what you would suggest doing to be a tandem master. Since I have very little jumps (43), I am wondering what you would recommend doing as to be the best prepared. Are there drills, certain jumps, disciplines you would suggest? Thank you! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Laura and I were going to go there, but are not now. However, I did hear that there are VERY few outs from people that jump at our DZ. They just recommend that you can land your canopy in "not perfect" conditions if you need to (a.k.a. someone's backyard, etc). Good luck!! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Awesome! I cannot wait until I can start giving tandems. Seems like something that I would enjoy. We'll see.

Hey man......how often do you do tandems? Curious. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Awesome! I didn't know there was a DZ by Miami. How far out of the way is it from Key West to Miami? Laura and I would like to make a couple hops between Key West and the Nassau cruise. Sounds cool!! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Tandem instructors: favorite landing technique?
mountainman replied to riggerrob's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Did you see on Icarus's website, on the page that explains the details of the Tandem main at the bottom it says that you cannot buy them or use them in the US. What does this mean? CLICK the attachment on the left to see what I am talking about on their website. Curious. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook. -
That looks a bit fishy to me. Aren't they rolling out their "email watch" software soon? I think they are up to something and I'm not gonna do it. I know in my heart that I'm not a terrorist. I'm good.
