Hey mon. We dont have bridle extensions on our rigs. We have never added anything like that to them. They are Icarus Safire's (169 = me, 149 = Laura). Icarus recommends that you pack the Safire, FX and VX (FX/VX, I think) in the manner of psycho. It works great too!! Website here.....http://www.icaruscanopies.com/canopies/Safire/packing.htm. Two words - psycho pack. That has made our lives much easier. We have no problems now packing our rigs that have about 12 or so jumps on them and the canopies. You won't be disappointed. (Unless it doesn't open.)

Marsh - glad you finally got it to work! I was wondering what the heck happened to it. heh heh heh... James - I think you just need to keep begging and pleading. It took me awhile for talking her into it. Especially since I am still in school, we didn't have a lot of money. However, we did AFF and bought 2 new rigs. So, I must've done something right! -
compressing DV footage for the web...
mountainman replied to mountainman's topic in Photography and Video
hey CameraMonkey......here is what I did first: File-->Export timeline-->Movie--> Then, you get to the part where you choose settings and so forth. These are the settings I'm not sure how to use (since I don't know what they all mean). I am wondering how you would set them up to give back the best quality without making the file too big. The movie, video, sound, etc parts are what I'm talking about. Thanks! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook. -

Perhaps you need to update to the newest version. That is weird. I played it on my computer, right from the link from the website. Hope you figure it out. JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook. -
Hey Quade...that is exactly what I was looking for. Do you have that on your website? Seems that I've seen that before.

PilotDave...I will upload it to your FTP asap. I am working on making a smaller version (see photo/video forum). -
Hi there folks. I saw the "you might be a frame grab if" and am curious on how you can uninterlace/interlace the picture to make it look better. I saw once that it has to do with taking out one of the channels, I think. If you could explain to me how to do it, I would like to do that with mine since they look so incredibly bad. Thanks!

compressing DV footage for the web...

Hey folks. I am wondering what you have your Adobe Premiere 6 settings at so that you can compress/encode the DV footage to smaller QuickTime format. I would love to do it, but I cannot figure out how to do it. I keep making it, but it takes an hour and is like 500MB or so. Please, if you can make the time, give me a pretty good instruction list. Would be good for future inquiries too. Thanks!! -

Hey there all! I finally got our video edited and ready for the internet. You can view it and the photos (frame grabs) HERE. The video is 9.xMB large. I'll try to figure out how to make it smaller, but so far, I can't figure it out. (I will post in "video" forum about it.) So....I hope you like them! -

We got Tad's jumpsuits and they are great. They are very good priced. Check them out!

I think you are about right, Wingy. There is a Beech 18 at my DZ, but I have never seen it running. There is always a piston missing or something. Oh well, we have the Grand Caravan now.

So, does SouthWest have some sort of reputation for saying weird stuff like that over the PA? JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook.

Do you guys hear a song and think about jumpin??
mountainman replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
Everytime I hear a song by AC/DC....something like "it's a long road, if you wanna rock-n-roll". That was on my tandem video. -
Question for the TMs.... If you go to another DZ and are rated to their equipment, will they let you make a jump with their gear if you pay to rent it? For instance, you are traveling to CA from FL and you are rated for Vector and that is what the DZ has. Your friend who lives in CA wants to make a tandem with you. Can you just "rent" the tandem gear and then pay for 2 slots? Or.....would you need your own gear? Just curious. Thanks!

Demoing: Cobalt vs. Samurai
mountainman replied to flyingferret's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Check out their website and see the headdown deployment. That was pretty neat, Dan. You can see it...[here=http://www.extremefly.com/aerodynamics/press/multimedia.html]HERE[/url]. Both videos are good watching, by the way. -
Yeah....I figured that it was a general setting for anything you will not be getting to "terminal" with.
-
If I remember correctly, the SLO setting is for hop-n-pops. This is just to insure that your Pro Track logs it since you may not get to terminal. Anyone, feel free to correct me since I just am taking this from what I thought I heard on here before. Hope it helps!

I had less than one hour in the Amsterdam airport in 1998 to make it to my connection from Helsinki to Newark. I'm sure you know how big the thing is, right?

Thanks, Viking!
