If you want to do it your way, don't go around asking everybody for advice. Surprisingly enough, they will give it to you. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

A friend of mine, who is a pretty average guy, told me the story of a fairly young girl who sat down in an empty seat next to him and solicited some under-blanket finger action from him, and tried to talk him into a bathroom trip which he declined. She later mentioned that her mom was sitting a few rows back. The story was even more funny to us since days prior a weird friend of ours had boasted of finger banging a stranger on a plane. We thought that was pretty unbelievable, and an odd story to make up. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The only surprise to me in this post is the word "most." I thought it was all. Are you saying that some editing software DOES capture through USB? That would be news to me... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Nice job. What is total weight of bike before (regular bicycle) and after mods? What is range? Charging time? Can you get more wire nuts sticking out at random angles? That would definitely improve the appearance. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I have been waiting for 100GB to replace my 60GB (yes, I use ALL that space). To hear 160GB is a very nice surprise. As much as I hate the trendiness of Apple, the iPod is a solid device and I tested several other brands before I reluctantly settled on my iPod two years ago. Today, I am still confident in that decision. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Which helmet? With heavy modification it is probably possible. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Scott... have you ever tried to use your HC5 with a different Cameye, or use that specific Cameye with a different camera? I know more than one person who uses HC5 with Cameye no problem. So I really still think it may be your Cameye... and I just ordered an HC5 so in two days we will see if it works with my Cameye, which I know is good. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Jeff, you must have an extra joint because my elbow and shoulder are rigidly attached by my upper arm, and I cannot roll one without rolling the other. Color me confused... I think you need some cool 3D illustrations with monkey heads to help us understand. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Today I saw a guy riding a motorcycle very close to the ground. Now if he got off the bike and went to a standing position do you think he might be able to land? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

You don't need a wingsuit to walk away from freefall... just go into a boxman and fall next to a tall building. If you get your feet close enough to the vertical wall, you can just walk down it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Hmm, about 3 years ago I was already predicting that in the near future, when the collapse of all this madness was more imminent, there would be talks of federal bailouts. All the eager homebuyers, at that time, would have answered your question (should the government provide a bailout?), and did say as much to me: "no, because we don't need a bailout, because there is no bubble, because we're all acting rationally." To those same members of the herd, who are today requesting a bail-out, I will return the response: you don't need it, there is no bubble. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Thanks for the explanation. Would a Raynox 5050 on a HC5 look noticeably better than a Royal 0.3 on an HC5? I have a Royal 0.3x that I use with my HC90 but I would like one that allows me to zoom full range for ground shots (which the Raynox 5050 does). If the 5050 will also look better on the HC5, compared to the 0.3, then I'm doubly sold. Sure the Raynox may be slightly bigger but compared to the 10-22mm lens on my XT it's still tiny. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Spot, do you know anything about the Raynox HD 5050PRO (0.5x) specifically? I'm looking at that one because it seems like a good price and allows a filter to be added on the front for protection. I read somewhere that at full wide it may get a little soft around the edges, but I guess that is the case with many lenses. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Haha, it's planet of the ape-birds! They look just like you Scott. How's the 2nd edition of the book coming, btw? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Good idea. Scott Bland hands out documents like this at Flock & Dock usually. BTW, that image looks familiar. I can always recognize that kind of stuff. I'm sure Ryan will be happy to know he's been made into a model flocker. Once there was an ad in Parachutist for a boogie at Eloy and they had this little small solid black wingsuit graphic. I know without a doubt it was sourced from this image, because of several very identifiable things about the profile. Foot position, arm position, and a photographic memory. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Actually I haven't heard that too much, or if I have I must have ignored it as incredibly non-descriptive. But regarding this whole discussion, I'm not sure what the point is of trying to take one word (real), which already has a definition, and try to assign it some new incredibly complex definition when used in conjunction with the word "woman." We already have a complete langauge system, why not just use that to say what you want to say about a woman? If you like women tall, short, skinny, fat, submissive, dominant, loud, quiet, or WHATEVER, just say so. The word "real" is never going to summarize all that. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Yeh, I've been toying with that idea too. It's a good option, thanks. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Best quick release to use in conjunction with Camera Armor
The111 replied to TallGuy's topic in Photography and Video
Yeh, I have noticed that Terry, as I am sizing my carbon fiber camera plates for screws. The camera base usually only has about 3.5 full threads available which is pretty small by most standards. I'm using flush screws in my design and I purposely bought them too long and then ground the tips down to just the right length. It is true that I have to undo the screw to get the camera off the plate, but I'd have to do that to get the battery out anyway. Can you post any pictures to further illustrate what you're describing with the set screw and jam nut? Thanks. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Low light performance is very important to me for skydiving shots, it plays a critical role in underneath shots and sunset shots, two of my favorite perspectives. One of the biggest differences between the HC5 and HC7 seems to be the CMOS sensor. HC5 has 1/3" 2100k pixel, HC7 has 1/2.9" 3200k pixel. HC3 had same sensor specs as HC5. In the review on camcorderinfo.net for the HC7, they gave it a very poor rating in low light performance. They specifically stated that it far underperformed the HC3, which they had given a very high low light performance rating. The reason for this was that the sensor size only slightly increased from HC3 to HC7, but pixel count increased hugely, making for smaller pixels and less overall light collection. They went on to say that they expected the HC5 would perform the same as the HC3 in low light since it had a comparable sensor, and they would review the HC5 later... but it looks like they never did. I was unable to find any other reviews mentioning the low light performance of the HC5 and HC7. Anybody have any practical experience with this? I was already leaning to the HC5 since it's cheaper... now I have more reason. EDIT: Spot, I just found an old post by you on a Sony forum stating that the HC7 is actually great in low light... so I'm expecting a response from you. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Best quick release to use in conjunction with Camera Armor
The111 replied to TallGuy's topic in Photography and Video
Get a longer screw. I can assume if you are recommending that combination it's something you have experience with? Do you find it to be stable and secure? Nope, I have no experience with the armor, but I do have experience with screwing , and the solution to a too-short screw is a longer screw. As I've mentioned in a lot in my other posts, I'm putting the finishing touches on my Wes Rich CCM and his carbon fiber quick release plates are amazingly fast, light, strong, and simple. Easy to make and I'm sure I could put any camera with any thickness of armor on it, as long as the screw I have is long enough. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

I have not made the switch to HDV yet, may get HC5 soon though. Up until recently I was unaware you even needed a special lens for HD. I was reading through old posts and found one by DSE mentioned that the Century and Raynox "HD" lenses resolve at 550 lines... I always (stupidly, I guess) assumed that glass had an infinte resolution (or at least much higher than a few hundred lines). Guess it just depends how they make the glass, like anything else. What are the best options out there, with emphasis on price? ($100-$150 maybe) DSE, you know I'm looking your way. Also, I read some stuff before about HC5 vibrations in sitfly... any truth to this? I tend to think it's probably not, since in the past few years I heard weird rumors about other "new" cameras at the time (PC1000, HC1) that never proved to be a real problem. But it would be nice to know that it can perform in a sit... even if I'll probably be in my wingsuit 99% of the time. Thanks! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Funny, I just finished building a Wes Rich style CCM and I am using one of Terry's hinges on it. See attached picture (hinge not actually in picture). When I put it on my head and did a test cutaway it does not release automatically. But if I hold the helmet with my hands and twist my head to the left, the torque causes the back door ("bone" on FTP) to flex a bit which allows the hinge to release. Terry sent me a new hinge to test but my helmet is at the painter right now so I haven't been able to try it yet. I was thinking it was my helmet design at first, but after looking at the hinge a long time I decided it was that piece itself. Now that I hear others are having the same problem even on an actual FTP, I feel more justified in my belief. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
