  1. How did the 25 way turn out? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  2. I would assume that they are magazine worthy pictures, so he can't post them any where else. The magazines only want print exclusives (not printed elsewhere, in the same country). Every photos I've ever had published was publicly available on my web galleries first, and this was known to the magazine (since I actually use my galleries as a submission vehicle). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  3. There are pictures of 400 linked skydivers, 100 linked canopy pilots do think its the FAI that makes these special? Do you think the participants don't fondly remember being there? I wasn't on either but remember both. Exactly. This very thread proves that people both remember and care about a wingsuit formation that happened 4 years ago in DeLand. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  4. You represent Phoenix-Fly, you tell us. If FAI defined it as something different than your current answer to that question, would that change your perception? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

  6. Jeff's got the right idea here. To say faster flocks are easier is like saying it's easier to control a motorcycle at high speeds. True, it's easier to control the bike going 50mph than 5mph, but at 150mph it becomes difficult again due to the extreme speed. The best flocking speed is in the middle, not even close to "fast" or balls out. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

  8. I am 99% sure I know what she is talking about. It was in December of 2004, I had about 75 wingsuit jumps, and at that boogie I met Loic for the first time, and I also met Scott Bland and Omar Nery's for the first time who both went on to be good friends of mine. It was organized by Ray Dutch. I still have an 8x10 photo framed at home taken by Rickster Powell, I don't remember there being more than 23 people in frame and it was fairly "well-shaped", but not nearly as slot perfect as the 9 and 16-ways we've seen recently. ACTUALLY... after some searching I just found THIS.
  9. Hmm, so when it happens in freefall it has already taken some successful shots before the lockup? I guess the best advice I can offer is try to reproduce the problem on the ground. Then start changing variables and see if you can still reproduce it without or without remote, with or without different lens, with or without different CF card, etc. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  10. See my reply in the other post about the same issue, I think this is what you are experiencing. In short, it happens when the camera goes into power save mode with a remote attached. Disable power save mode (not sure if that's the exact name) or don't allow it to reach that time. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  11. When it is locked up, does the power light stay on whether you turn it off or on? My XTi would do this, but not my XT. I actually returned my XTi and got another one that did the same thing. After some testing I figured it out. If I allow the camera to be turned on for a certain amount of time the LCD will go off as it goes back into power save mode. Usually halfway depressing the shutter SHOULD bring it back to life. However I found out that when a remote is plugged in, it locks up sometimes, when going into power saving mode, and nothing will bring it back to life except removing the battery. So, easy solution? Disable the power saving feature in the menus. OR... once you turn it on and the helmet is on your head, fire a test shot every 30 seconds until you exit. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. Hey, I know some of those people. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  13. So it sounds like you have worn out the hex head of the screw? The only way that would even be possible would be using the wrong size wrench, or using the right size wrench and not inserting it all the way. If the bolt is stuck now and can't be tightened or loosened it might have to be drilled out. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  14. You do realize the computer guys have absolutely nothing to do with choosing the corporate policy, right? They just, sort of, get paid to enforce it. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to watch porn at work too, if they were allowed. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  15. It's tough to understand exactly what you're describing, but as far as "stripping the screw"... I sort of doubt that. On my old setup I had the Schumacher articulating mount for 2+ years and after my initial setup I never once had to re-adjust it (and I traveled with it a lot). I tightened the screw VERY tight when I first calibrated it. It would take an insane amount of torque to strip one of those screws, and there's no really easy way to apply torque in a setup like this (the reason you often can't get it tight enough, I'm guessing). If you can't get it tight enough, it's very unlikely you stripped it (got it too tight - exactly the opposite). You need to find a good way to apply torque strongly, without actually affecting the alignment while tightening. Once you do this the clamp should not slip. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  16. Your phrasing is a little bit confusing, not trying to be nitpicky but it honestly obscures your meaning. "He does not have incorrect information on purpose" either means: 1) He intentionally didn't put incorrect info there (did put correct info there, meaning his profile is correct) OR 2) He unintentionally did put incorrect info there, meaning his profile is incorrect and was an accident Since you seem to be defending him overall I'm going to guess you mean #2. But he just said: Which implies that it is the way it is intentionally. Which negates what you're saying (based on either interpretation #1 or #2, since he's claimed it's both out of date and intentional). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  17. Sounds like a lot of fun Chuck. I can't make it that weekend but I hope to visit Zhills at least once this fall/winter. Post some pics after the boogie.

    Norman Kent

I got a big kick out of something that happened at Z-Flock 3.0 (wingsuit bigway at Zhills) last year. Norman shows up on the 3rd day and asks the event organizer (Scott Bland) if he can fly camera on some of our jumps... Scott tells Norman to ask me, since I was "in charge" of the few camera flyers we had. I got a little confused when Norman asked me if I minded him coming along on the jump. Here is a shot of him (upper left) from one of those jumps. He has his camera (5D I believe) mounted on his left HAND. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  19. Damn, 5.0! That makes me feel OLD. Can we have a cop theme (5-0) for the t-shirt? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
