I saw it last night and it was shot in Elsinore for sure. I say this because I was taking photos in Elsinore all week and I recognized several things on the ground. Don't know whose footage it is. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

If you're in Orlando go to La Hacienda in Orange City. Ashley and I used to drive there regularly (from Orlando = 40+ minutes) just for dinner. I've been in Houston (TexMex capital?) for nearly a year and nothing comes close. I talk about La Hacienda at least once a week. I don't know about burritos, but EVERYTHING they have is simply incredible. My regular meal there was chimichangas + chile relleno + margarita PITCHER. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

How about constructing a 3D picture from one 2D image? I'm pretty sure that's not really feasible (without a lot of other known data about the photographed objects). CAT scans aren't constructed by taking one simple photograph of the object being examined... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I took an average of 80 photos per jump... much more than I usually do, just for the sole purpose of trying to capture that magical moment if it did all line up. I spent about 6 hours yesterday looking through all my photos and the best ones are in my web galleries and have been submitted for publication. I did not see any that looked like they would work with the grid (distortion or not, there were bigger issues). This is not meant to be disparaging to the flyers at all, as I agree with everything else you said, and to be brutally honest this formation came out MUCH, MUCH better than I could have ever expected. I am incredibly impressed at the flying and don't give a fuck about the grid, but if asked, I'd say that I did not see evidence in my photos of a "grid completion." If my average of one photo per second was not enough to capture the magic moment when it did happen, then I truly hope that somebody else did. It won't impress me any more than I already am though... which is VERY impressed with how well everyone flew. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Click below. RED CARD! Thanks to everybody who came from all over to make this event possible. The flying was fantastic, and that is as quantitative as I am going to get about that. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I'll be the first to admit I don't know a whole lot about optics (especially considering I'm an engineer and a photographer). But for my lens (Canon 10-22mm) the reviews I've read show that is has extremely little distortion (photozone.de even has some grid measurements), especially in the middle of the range (I shoot at ~16mm). The APS-C actually helps here. I'm not sure how a "full frame" photo of a grid, taken with my lens, would vary from range of 10ft to 100ft (assuming a physical grid scaled for each shot). Though I do know my lens focuses at infinity in each case, and I assumed that because of this, the two examples mentioned above would be the same. And I am attaching a shot of the 35-way diamond after 1st wave breakoff where I looked forward a bit and there are a couple really straight roads (and runways) visible in the pic. I don't really see much distortion to these "ground lines"... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Right, because Obama was elected president, everyone who voted for him did all the research in the world and really paid attention to everything he had to say, not to mention paying close enough attention to the people he surrounds himself with him, such as Bill/William Ayers. Of course there's no way that a mass of followers have ever been brainwashed or misled by their so-called "leader." You're not even addressing the same issue I was. I'm not talking about the average amount of research a voter does. I'm not talking about Obama's friends. I'm not talking about people being misled. My post was simple logic. The post I was replying to said that "Obama has made too many such statements to be elected." To say that right after he has been elected is as logically impossible as saying the sky is red. Fill in the blank, it's false no matter what you choose: "Obama has ______ too much to be elected." Now, if you want to say "Obama has _____ too much to earn my vote," then fine. But to say he is essentially "unable to be elected" when he just has been elected, makes no logical sense at all. Now, the secondary issue is what are those actual statements? Several people have asked, and no answer has been given yet. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Any pictures of yourself while working ???

Self portrait! Taken at the wingsuit world record yesterday in Elsinore. Hanging on the tiny camera step of Otter 3, with no engine cut, waiting for Otters 1 and 2 to exit. Reflection courtesy of Duncan Wright. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Strike 2! I was not below the formation. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I did not take any surface to air shots... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Yes, looking through today's photos right now and it's still not perfect... but it is MUCH closer. I'll post a complete gallery to my site after the event. One more day remains. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I came up with an answer, and also a great name for the event team. Team Flying Spaghetti Monster! I know Scott Bland would fully support! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Yeh, the back wasn't even built yet here. I have a few where the back is built, but still not perfect, and in those ones the front isn't as perfect either. I liked this one just because of how perfect the front is. We'll see what happens today! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Agreed. Regardless of what happens I give him kudos for setting a concrete goal and pushing us toward it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Here is a quick teaser from one of our jumps today. Not necessarily the best, but the clouds made it much easier to pick people out. More jumps tomorrow!

I read that you said this about Obama: "he has made to many statements against this country". You have yet to provide a single example of this. Its not so much that people can't read, but when a person makes such serious accusations without a single shred of proof they appear to be blinded by things such as racial intolerance or religious persecution or fear. Well, since we can't read it might be tough for us to understand... but perhaps he can read so well that he actually reads into things that aren't even there? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

It's either Jeff Nebelkopf or Scott Campos, right?
-
Or you could just practice what you preach. It's not that difficult. I guess I see hypocrisy as (a) expecting others to meet your standards, which you preach at them and (b) failing to do so yourself. If you don't try to control others, and only worry about yourself... you're not a hypocrite when you fail to meet all of your own goals, just human. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Clearly, he didn't make too many of those statements to be elected by the people. Since he was, you know, elected by the people. What are some of these "statements against the country?" No, of course not. Not even in the Civil War when we were shooting and killing each other, American vs. American in full out combat. All over one side's desire to perpetuate social injustices. Not a proud moment in our history, and I doubt today's "polarization" will be a proud moment in future memories either. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I don't care about it at all. Rush simply kept asking over and over for proof of something that nobody else had even claimed, so I found an article and posted it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

It's extremely different, because your poll wasn't about the US World Standing! It was about the 2008 Presidential Race. My poll showed that near the end of Bush's term, US Standing had sunk to a new low. US Standing was never even the issue here, and nobody claimed it was low, but you begged for proof that it was, so here it is. Your poll showed that the world preferred Obama over McCain. What does that have to do with US Standing in the world? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
-
Sweet freakin' jesus! Rush, in post 60 of this thread Quade mentions Bush and Bush alone - not the wider perception of America! Oh come on man. How many here have stated that it is Bush's fault the US is in such bad standing in the world? In post #60? Zero. Why did you want me to read post #60? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
-
Here it is: Rush, you've said some pretty wild things in your time but you have just set a new high for dead enders. How you can sit there and type that his failure has yet to be judged is almost beyond belief. His failure has been judged, not just by me or some folks here on SC, but by the vast majority of the planet who, if it were not the fact he has his finger on the largest nuclear stockpile in existence, would be calling for a war crimes trial. That post is about BUSH. Not the USA. So, I'll ask for the third time, where did Quade (or anybody) say either of the things you've claimed? Yes, did you? According to a recent BBC World Service poll of 26,000 people in 25 countries (mostly non-Arab), just 29 percent now feel the United States exerts a mainly positive influence on the world. That compares with 36 percent who felt that way a year ago and 40 percent two years ago. When asked about the U.S. military presence in the Middle East, an average of 68 percent of respondents across the 25 countries answered that it provokes more conflict than it prevents. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

All of your subsequent statements were to this point at well. I was responding to the nutty the us is hated because of bush statement, which you cant back up Nobody said that.... where did anybody say the world hates the US? the statement that we need to restore our standing in the world is used over and over. I simply posted a poll that shows in most countries our standing is good or fine. Please show me a poll that shows otherwise and I will conceed the point How is it possible to debate when you put words in our mouths? I've asked you to show where Quade said what you claimed. Now you're changing it to something different, which he STILL didn't say. Further, your poll does not prove that the US standing is good (or bad). It is not a poll about "US standing." It's a poll about which candidate is preferred. Neither I (nor anybody in this thread) claimed that (1) the US is hated or (b) the US has "low standing"... but since you keep begging for it, and are now specifically asking for a "poll" which supports it... HERE you go. Took me 30 seconds of searching on Google. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
