Scam allert - Wingsuit Coaches/Instructors etc
The111 replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I'm confused. I thought the Nigerian scams required you to send them money first, to "unlock" the fortune awaiting you. The people you are describing are giving you some money up front? How is that helping them out? How can that hurt you? www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Truly the best artistic flying I've seen yet. Excellent flying. Excellent footage. Excellent editing. Excellent. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Source for switch used in tongue/bite switch?
The111 replied to 980's topic in Photography and Video
I have not used that specific connector, but in general it is easier to buy cables with the connector already on them, than to solder that connection. For my MCX cables, I bought 36" lengths with connectors on BOTH ends. Cut them in half, and had two cables ready to solder to a switch. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Being real does not exclude one from being a troll. In fact, 100% of trolls are real people. Unlikely, considering his request for "shit throwing" in the OP. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I bought one of these on a whim in a Wal-Mart 4 years ago, the night after first jumping my SLR. http://www.amazon.com/Lexar-READER-RW022-001-Retail-Package/dp/B00032Q3WY Still works fine after 4 years of being in my camera bag and being used often. Of course, that's just me, not an entire DZ. I also have one of these in my tower: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820132021 It works fine, but the CF slot tolerance is pretty poor... you have to look very closely when you insert the card, or the pins won't line up. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Safety: don't skydive in thunderstorms. Otherwise: maybe don't mention online the name of the DZ that put you out of a plane near a thunderstorm... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Most airlines in US allow a carryon (roller, with dimension limit but usually no mention of weight) and a "personal item" (backpack or purse). I fit my roller (heavy, but within size limit) in the overhead, and my backpack under the seat (mostly). I fly Southwest 99% of the time and they never hassle me. Continental gave me a hard time once, made me fit the roller in one of the metal bins in the terminal proving it was the right size. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I carry all of the following on the plane. Everything I need to skydive, and more. rig (roller) 2 wingsuits (roller) altimeter (roller) goggles (roller) logbook (roller) camera helmet (backpack) both cameras (backpack) laptop (roller) And some other small shit. I have a very complicated packing system, but it works! The cameras go inside the helmet which just barely fits in the backpack. If I could only take one thing though, it would be the helmet since it's irreplaceable. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Why does a wingsuit manufacturer have nothing to do with a poll about wingsuit manufacturers? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Depends who "we" are. Many of us haven't. I don't have a camera on my helmet for messing around... it's for taking nice pictures, and a precise aim is one very fundamental part of that process. Do ground photographers use viewfinders? Yes... and I use a ringsight. Correct. I know one VERY big name who jumps a Wes Helmet with a ringsight, lots of cameras, and no cutaway system. Would I do that? Probably not... I like my cutaway, even though I never expect to use it. But I'm not going to call him out for it either. There are plenty of things just as likely to snag lines as a ringsight is. The bottom line (pun intended) is that if you have lines coming at your face at high speed... you have bigger problems than a ringsight. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
