Not sure about the lensflare, being so big and having such complex textures in the background, I don't think it would be very easy. But I do think you should try to fix the highlights... the sky is a bit blown out and the photo would look REALLY nice once you corrected that. Try the "shadows and highlights" feature in PS for a really easy mode. What lens are you using? I really like the shape of the sunstar. That's the one thing I dislike about my 10-22, it makes crappy sunstars. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

There is WAY too much spherical distortion in that photo to even fully understand what's going on. (a problem that still exists with all grid/photo methods) Moreover, it appears they are flying very tight which would make most grids invalid if you're not allowed to overlap squares (similar to this one). www.WingsuitPhotos.com

It's not a theory, it's basic physics. I can open full flight and not "kiss my knees" either. That doesn't mean there's not a stress on my body. If you want to minimize that stress, full flight is not the best way to go. If you can do full flight and the stress doesn't bother you... great. But that doesn't answer the original question. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Really? I do open from full flight most of the time. Even I have lots of forward speed (130-150 Km/h) still open softer than opening from terminal velocity. I jump a Triathlon160 with wing suit. When I deploy my PC it feels like a speed break or anchor than it turns into a canopy.

Correct. Flocking is not about buzzing big walls. Cheers to you for being astute enough to understand the difference. Next up: apples are not oranges, and horses are not motorcycles. The footage was very impressive, probably the craziest proximity stuff I've ever seen. I like the outside shot from 6:00, and the pass starting at 7:32 was just insane. Something crosses the screen at 8:25 going the other way... another jumper, or a bird? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Depends on your technique. If you do it with a lot of forward speed and leave your leg open, you can get whipped pretty hard which can hurt your back or neck if those are sensitive. If you do it right it can be softer than a freefall opening with very little whip. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I always like the shots I get in Puerto Rico, but THIS one from last week is probably one of my favorites. I love being able to see the waves hitting the coast below. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The wingsuiters missed you and the rest of the CRW dogs, April.

Party line? Is that like a conga? Or does it mean I'm gonna have to start putting signs in my front yard about which representative to elect next? Enough politics... go make a docked 4-way diamond, somebody. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I certainly wouldn't ask for the plane to dive. I knew somebody who broke their wrist because the pilot thought everyone was out and dove the plane, the last guy fell and tumbled all the way to the front of the van. Level exits, a must. High speed... sure, it's fun.

that is so wonderful! I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am that you found it and are an honest and nice person willing to return it!! thank you thank you thank you. email is on the way... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Looking good Jeff, nice to see pics of myself.

It's a shitload of work. I know half a dozen people who, like me, have built their own... and all of them say they wouldn't do it for anybody but themself. Even for what Wes was charging, which a lot of people think was expensive, it's still not worth the work IMO. You have to really love it, which Wes sure did. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Scott, a lot of what you say is true, unfortunately. But, you say several times that "most" people tried landing into the wind (toward the south) at the DZ and at the beach. This isn't true. I saw a few fools landing south at the beach (some in the bushes and some in the water) but that was only a few... and at the DZ I only saw one person who didn't land parallel to the runway (he was heading north and landed in trees)... though it did seem people were coming in BOTH directions parallel to the runway every load. I agree about not landing at the DZ... I only went to the beach. And the crowds of vehicles in the entry way were indeed VERY frustrating. Interest from whuffos is great, but there had to be 5 whuffos for every jumper... there was hardly even room to walk, let alone get a car out of there... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

New photos online: Puerto Rico 2010, aka Flock & Dock 5.9!
The111 replied to The111's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Agreed, very cool. How long were you able to keep flying it stable? Rocking was 1 sec Docking was much longer. Justin has got pretty good at holding the foot dock. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

Click -> Flocking & Docking, PR style Nice flying by everyone. It was nice to see something that had never been done before. I only hope the docking gets better at 6.0! www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
I was briefly contacted by Wes' son about this (by voicemail) but wasn't able to get back in touch with him. It seemed he wanted the legacy put out there, somehow... that was my impression from the voicemail. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The Question of the Universe: why video pixels are not square?
The111 replied to yuri_base's topic in Photography and Video
I don't think anybody in this thread claimed either of those things. The fact remains that a very popular camera for skydiving right now DOES have square pixels, so if you want to whine about not having them (as Yuri is), it might be easier just to get that camera, or one of the others that do. -
I did not witness any of them firsthand but I heard of a femur and a heel. I would imagine the reason was that they contacted the ground too hard. More specifically, the main LZ was a narrow asphalt field with trees creating wind shear at 20-30ft. Good thing I never landed there... most of us wingsuiters went to the beach every single time. Nice and soft... just don't fall in the 15ft surf and drown! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

CX100? 1920x1080. That's square pixels, right? www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

There are plenty of cameras that record video with square pixels. Check the specs before you buy. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Oh man, that sucks Andreea. Hope you find your stuff. Any cool jumps on Sun after I left? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Interesting... I usually use up all my altitude upon landing. What will you do with the altitude you have leftover? And YES, I support beach jumps every time. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
