There's this thing out there called Google that works pretty well... EDIT: Bah, AD beat me to it. Wonder if he googled too? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Check out this link about glider performance... I think Quade posted it before in another forum. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Perhaps since it is decreasing surface area behing your CG, it allows your pitch angle to become less "head low" and that pitching adds more to your surface area projection than was taken away by the leg bend. Just a wild guess... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Anyone have any more info about this? I've heard similar stats quoted in other discussions about landing winguits. I don't know much about downhill skiing, and I can't picture how this is done, but it's pretty hard to believe... at that speed the guy would have to be flying his body just like a skydiver, and he'd have to be flying it pretty damn efficiently to reach that speed. And I don't think most skiiers have the knowledge of how to fly like that. Anyone know of any websites with info about this type of thing? EDIT: ooooh, after the recent thread about Wikipedia, I looked up downhill skiing on there and it is claimed to be the world's fastest non-motorized sport. I will be editing that. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

That's pretty cool, I didn't know that. I was wondering why most of the skydiving stuff seemed accurate. Following Manbird's lead, I edited Ferrari to Corvette. EDIT: Man the ramifications of this public edit thing are mindboggling for troublemakers. I'm having urges to look up and modify major entries to be comically wrong... EDIT 2: I'm also editing the entry on speed skiing where they claim it is the fastest non-motorized sport... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

There's a company that caters the food where I work, and I know they do food services for a lot of big businesses in FL. I saw their truck in the parking lot at work today and noticed how suspiciously their logo looks like the BM logo. What do you think? I think Jari should sue them for all they're worth, and use the profits to make wingsuits for the entire world, thus ending war forever! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

It's not a "Carrey movie" or a "Winslet movie." They happen to be actors in the movie. It's Gondry's movie and Kaufman's story. I ask again. Why is it so important who stars in a film? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Yeah. Adam Sanadler is great. Can he help me with my Englilish paper? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Hmm, that is a tough one. I must resist temptation to google it (which probably wouldn't work anyway), and I don't have time to review the entire site right now, but I will work on it. I'm almost positive SB said it. Or maybe HSR. Or who knows. This is going to be hard. In the meantime, while I'm working on that one, here is a very difficult one for you. "Curses, I've gone to hell!" As a hint, it's actually in an easter egg. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Oh, come on... the part where I acted arrogant about being a big fan was a joke. Ok, a half joke. Heh. But seriously it would be a fun game. Won't you identify my quote? Or at least give me a quote to identify? And yeh, everybody on Fark uses the /stuff, but it comes from IRC and the "/me whatever" command usage. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

OK....do you have 3 tshirts, a hoodie, and the entire set of figurines? /sad Nah, I do own the figurine set (the ENTIRE set, since that's the only way you can purchase them! ), but that's the only thing I ever bought from their store. I based my "biggest fan" claim on the fact that (1) I like the site more than you (which cannot be objectively tested) and (2) I am more familiar with the site than you (which can be objectively tested, with a game I am about to suggest). You identify the source of a quote which I select, and then you will have to come up with a new quote and ask me to identify the source. I promise you it will be very difficult to find a quote I can't place. For starters, you can use the one I quoted above, it should be VERY easy. "We deserve a break. Eating pudding with a spooooooooon!" /actually knows the origins of this trend of closing posts with a "/something" www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Are you asking for a challenge? We deserve a break. Eating pudding with a spoooooooon! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Hmm, I actually saw that contest and missed all this madness, because I usually sort the contests by voting results and in this case all of the lovely iterations of that skydiving related entry aren't seen if you sort like that. It is a huge cliche trap, but it was pretty funny for a while, I've never seen something like that happen before where everybody keeps building on the same base. The best was where the guy who normally holds the "MORANS" sign is holding a picture of the madness... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Right on. Every one of Kaufman's films to date have been incredible, but this is the first one that truly blew my mind. Also, this one, while it was "way out there" like the others, also managed to hit you really hard on a human, emotional level, and contain a broader message about life. Almost the entire second half of the movie had me fighting off tears. FWIW, Carrey and Winslet were excellent choices (kudos to Gondry) and both gave great performances. What's up with Kaufman's brother? I don't know much about him (Charlie) except that he writes the most original screenplays around right now. I hope he hasn't reached the top of his game yet. They just keep getting better. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Wow, I'm in awe. Kyle the Yellow Dart. Heh, I had that doc file saved on my hard drive I guess, and forgot about it. The filename was like report.doc or something. Well one day a few months later I was searching for a doc file and found this one and opened it up and was like WTF is this? Took me a while to remember what it was, was pretty freaking funny at first. In other news, I AM A BIGGER HSR FAN THAN ANY OF YOU!!! I dare anyone to challenge that. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Why is this the first question people often ask about movies? What does it matter? Ok, I take that back, acting does matter quite a bit, but I still don't understand why it would be the first question asked... as if one would decide whether or not to see a movie based on what actors were in it, not having a clue what it was about or who wrote the screenplay or directed the film (both were important factors in this being such an awesome film). www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Thought 1 - It's possibly the best movie I've seen in my life. Seriously. I saw it twice in theatres, which is the only time I've ever done that, I think. I'm sure I'll watch it again at some point and buy it when it comes out (I've only bought 3 movies ever). Thought 2 - You've been Ivan'd. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Umm, dude? Thanks for the input, the book does indeed kick ass, but perhaps you should take your own advice... I spelled Mr. Palahniuk's name right. I have no clue where you got that extra P from. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I've never flown cameras at all myself, but you might want to read this thread in the wingsuit forum. Near the end of the thread, he posts a pic of his shoe setup... it was a "lipstick" camera duct taped to his shoe. Very low profile and free of snag points. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I'm still not sure what "it" (the thing being dropped) is. I was assuming it's a "deadweight" type cargo (i.e. no power for propulsion or human for control), so if you wanted to drop it miles away from the target, what ensures that the wing takes to the proper heading on (or after) deployment? Is there some kind of remote control? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
