Error: Unmatched endif/endifnot/endunless tag
The111 replied to The111's topic in Error and Bug Reports
Not sure what scripting language is being used, but there are some unmatched tags being reported (although the page still displays fine). See attached. EDIT: This is happening on every post in every forum for me. I just screencapped a random one. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
You're in luck, most of my videos are not on Youtube, but that one is: youtubes link www.WingsuitPhotos.com

You probably mean backflips while belly flying (gainer style)... I don't have that but I do have this: go to 2:49 Which is an old video of me doing backflip while backflying. Unfortunately the video is a bit misleading as I was not really ever able to stop the rotation, it always turned into multiple flips and I had to get out some other way. I have not tried that in years, I wonder if it is easier in today's suits with better back inflation pressure. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Yeah, your weight/height isn't really that crazy. I'm 6'0" and pretty skinny but geared up (including cameras) I'm almost 210lb out the door. Adding 3" height and 70lb weight doesn't change your overall wingloading that much from where I am. Since area is the square of length, the increase of your suit's surface area in proportion to your height is not linear. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

New firmware update for the black due on the 2nd april
The111 replied to spencer's topic in Photography and Video
I don't think it's that. Even 5 minutes after power on I've seen this happen repeatedly. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Not necessarily, it could also be because of a burble. Alti's mounted in weird places have been known to give unreliable readings while flying in weird orientations. The lesson here is not "use an audible," or "zero out your toy." The lesson is to maintain altitude awareness in all flight modes. We have a dozen different ways to do that, but the most important ways are to use the things in our eye sockets and the thing on our wrist. Use those things.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/violence "exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse (as in warfare effecting illegal entry into a house)" How does an inanimate abstract object exert physical force? (also note: a Taliban mullah is a person) www.WingsuitPhotos.com

A religion can be neither violent nor peaceful. Those qualities can only be possessed by a person. A doctrine can PREACH violence or peace, and the "followers" of that doctrine can choose to abide by or ignore those preachings. But in the end, each person is responsible for his own actions. I personally hate religion, but blaming it for violence is stupid. When a person does something stupid, I blame the person. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

New firmware update for the black due on the 2nd april
The111 replied to spencer's topic in Photography and Video
Just got a GP3 Black. Took me about 10 seconds to locate a very annoying bug that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere. When I go into the settings to change video resolution or whatever, it will randomly jump out of the settings menu and back to recording mode before I can finish adjusting the settings. I immediately updated to latest firmware, and the bug persists. Has anybody else seen this one? Not a dealbreaker since if I try 3 or 4 times eventually I'll get the settings done in time, before a random "cancel." But very irritating. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Mirrored hard drives on site, mirrored hard drives off site. Yes, that is overkill... but HDD's are dirt cheap and it's surprisingly easy to maintain. Until our internet access speeds (and provider limits on monthly bandwidth) significantly increase, there is no way I'm trying to store/access 1TB over an internet connection. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I did 2:45 in a S3 when I had like 100 wingsuit jumps. Years later I rarely ever go for time, but I tried once in a P2 and got... 2:45. Tried in a Venom and got... 2:45. Tried in my new G3 and got... 2:45. I'm stuck apparently! Funny thing is, just screwing around on an acro 2-way my first jump in the G3 we did 2:30. I think staying on my belly for too long my performance starts to deteriorate. Next time I try a long solo I will flip over every 45 seconds, like cooking a pancake. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Project for Backpack-Wingpack / Backpack-Airplane
The111 replied to team_skyflash's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Very big difference between pessimism and cautious realism. Note that these "pessimists" aren't saying the crazy project should be completely canceled... they're suggesting a smarter, safer way to go about it. If that's pessimistic, then I guess count me in. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
If you've been wanting to buy a Hero 3 Black but can't stomach the $400 price tag... for the next few days (through 4/7) it is included in the REI member 20% sale (pretty sure membership is free). If you also have an REI dividend to spend like I did, it can become even cheaper or free! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

re: the rough and tumble burble flocks you mention... It's very interesting to watch those happen with new flyers vs very experienced flyers. When a new flyer hits a burble, he collides with the burble's owner, and then goes into a 1000 foot tumble which he later calls a terrifying flat spin. When a very experienced flyer hits a burble, he bumps into the burble's owner, smiles/laughs and pushes off, and keeps flying straight. When you can do the latter in a burble situation, then you can feel more confident in your "flat spin" handling abilities.

Wingsuit Instructor/Coach Rating Input Needed.
The111 replied to Para5-0's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Maybe everyone can agree on that. Not sure who would argue against it, except those with less than 200 wingsuit jumps who want to give FFC's. I can't remember how many wingsuit jumps I had when I got a BMI rating years ago, but I think it was in that ballpark. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

Simple. The "borrow" transaction probably only works if you both have internet access at that moment... or you have access at one point in time and give up your access (phase 1), and he has access at a later point in time and gains access (phase 2). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
