I was talking from my experience jumping at Elsinore a couple times, I seem to remember a lot of large sandy areas on at least 3 of 4 sides of the DZ. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Escape artist faces coffin skydive at 14,500 feet

I don't understand how this "locked box" shit (in general) impresses anyone. This guy's resume is "I've been getting out of locked boxes for decades." Ok, so obviously the locks aren't that challenging for you. I'm guessing you choose the locks yourself. That's about like saying, I've been unlocking the front door to my house for decades. It's not that impressive. Now if he let ME put the padlock on his coffin and still jumped, then I'd be impressed. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Nah, I'm just paying attention to what he's writing. Asking someone else to explain how aspects of high craftsmanship could be present if slaves were used is ignoring the possibility that some but not all of the workforce were slaves. The question makes no sense unless he's assuming the answer is one or the other. That's one way to interpret it, and it does make more sense now that you explain it that way, but I'd still say you're reading too deeply based on the words alone. It's possible to explore one path that you consider interesting, while simultaneously knowing it is not the only path. I think all he's saying is "if you believe theory X, then provide compelling reasons for X," which is always a fair question. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

OK.... I'd like to introduce you to a revolutionary new concept, it's called 'both'. He only mentioned two possible ideas, he did not exclude any of the dozens of others, including the one you mention. You are making an assumption about his assumptions. Here's a false dichotomy for you... if he didn't say that both are possible, he must believe the opposite. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Please elaborate. That sounds hard to believe. We send people to the moon strapped to rockets, and there are structures all over the world that are much taller and wider than these pyramids. What am I missing - why couldn't we build a giant pyramid? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

He used the word ass as an adverb to extend the phrase "tiny hole." It was a poor ass choice or words, or a wrong ass interpretation, one or the other. No assholes were involved. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

There are at least one or two jumpers here in NorCal with that suit, and they seem happy with it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I asked Tony via email roughly a year ago about the details of this mod, and he told me he was no longer doing it. Though best to confirm with TS yourself rather than take my word for it.

Wut? Lol Maybe learn to fly the havok first. It's WAY faster, and more floaty then a P2. Nowhere near the drive of a V suit or an X suit, but incomparable to a Phantom 1,2,&3. And it has great starts in the BASE environment. Yeah, my G3 (pretty close to a Havok) really shocked me with its forward speed. It wants to go really fast, and is fairly challenging to slow down when compared to a P2. P2 can go somewhat fast if you work hard but it also easy to slow down. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I'm on board with e-books for sure, but I read them on my phone, not a full size tablet. My wife says the phone is too small, but you can set the text size to whatever you want, so you're not straining your eyes any more than with a larger device... you're just flipping pages more often, which is actually easy when you can both hold the phone and turn pages (with volume rocker) with just one hand. The benefit of the phone is that it is always with me. If I unexpectedly have to wait in line somewhere for 10 minutes... BOOM, I pull out my phone and accomplish 10 minutes of reading. It can also be smuggled into places and read discreetly if you have any reason to hide the fact that you're reading.

I went through this debate about 8 years ago when I started flying cameras, and at the time I decided to disconnect the RSL (and my current rig got built without one). I haven't actually had any chops since then, but all these recent incidents have me reconsidering my old decision, and possibly putting an RSL on my rig. A question which I'm sure I asked a long time ago and found the answer to and have since forgotten: does anybody know off the top of their head of any incident reports where an RSL/camera combo actually caused a problem? I am well aware that even if these reports do exist, they're almost certainly much less frequent than those where RSL's would have helped. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The 5th option is sounding really good right now, in a symbolic sort of way. It's funny, about 5 minutes before the big reveal I made a comment that he was set up to be the next Don Draper since he seemed like the smartest guy in the building. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Java may not be commonly used in front-end web design or for desktop applications (meaning "normal" computer/web users like you can survive without it), but as a general software development and run-time environment it is extremely widely used (including a a lot of web servers). Meaning if it did somehow "die," a lot of websites you use today would explode. Yeah, but it really does suck for all those things. The whole damn application stack sucks, from the stateless protocol to the leaky-ass middleware companies write to the shitty scripting languages that have been glommed into today's browsers. Flush the whole damn thing down the toilet like the messy dump it is and start over! What do stateless HTTP and web scripting languages have to do with the design of Java? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Ha, it looks silly, but obviously it's a more serious setup doing light duty at the moment. It's nice to wear the helmet that you're used to, even if it's just a GoPro on top for the time being! I may do something similar with my CCM soon. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

A degenerate? By 60s terms, yes. Correction: by douchebag Pete Campbell 60's terms. And seriously... why Pete of all people? Poor Bob. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

It's always been a better value to jump at Davis or Byron (assuming you value more than money). You mean "almost the same price." www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Most of your concern is warranted, however I am curious at the claim that a Vigil would go off while flying a wingsuit. Do you have more info on this incident? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Thanks Ed... to this day you're still the only person who's ever told me he started jumping because of my videos. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
