  1. Trying to "beat the market" is gambling, unless you have some information that most don't have. And by definition, "information that most don't have" will not come from a book, magazine, spam email, or cracker jack box. Invest your money in a market index fund. Getting rich slow is much easier (and common) than getting rich quick, and less of a headache. My opinion. Of course, I'm not rich yet, but I'm also still very young, so I've got plenty of time. The term "playing the market" is the exact opposite of "planning for the future," in my opinion. Do you really want to plan your future around a game? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  2. For anybody who's interested: I've put together a wingsuit photo gallery at www.wingsuitphotos.com (a shameless redirect to my personal domain). Included are lots of photos from earlier this year, and I plan to update the site regularly with new event galleries, etc. Enjoy! P.S. As the site is brand new, if you find anything that appears wrong with it please contact me and let me know. I'm new to web coding but have tested the site in a few different browsers and it seems to work ok. Also, opinions in general are welcome since it's my first site. Thanks. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  3. To me, being a perfectionist, an even more compelling argument (though safety is a better one) to wait is that you can't possibly fly good enough with that many jumps (unless you're a tunnel rat) to even get presentable video. I wouldn't bother flying a camera unless I knew the video had the potential to be good. What the world needs now... is another person in the plane with a camera on their head, gathering useless video. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

    New V2

Nice picture, you're all ready to go skydiving out your front door. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  5. I second the nice shot. That is great lighting on her face for having the sun behind her and no flash. Photoshop? Or just reflections from somewhere? I've had both save me before. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  6. You should check with the camera flyers and make sure they're aware that their videos are being used commercially like that. Hopefully they are, and are being compensated (cue jokes about the nature of the compensation). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  7. Either there's some inside joke I'm missing, or you're just as crazy as James. Mushrooms in Holland? Nah... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  8. "Weaseling out of things is an important skill to learn. It's what separates us from the animals... except the weasel." - Homer Simpson www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  9. If they have an actual mold for the HC90 it should be good, most other companies don't make an HC90 box yet. I don't know anybody with a RAWA/HC90, but many people with RAWA's and other cameras who are happy. The fact that the camera enclosure is integrated should help keep the camera from sticking out too far, like I said earlier it's a bit wide and in an external box that is too much for my preference. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  10. If you need a box, the Bonehead TRV 19/22/23 box will work for the HC90, though it is a little too wide so you will have to put some extra padding in it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  11. Firstly, "leg bottom of container" makes no sense. I have never used a leg pouch and don't think it's necessary for skydiving, but it can be used successfully. However you will want to be belly to earth and stable for the whole flight. Instability/acrobatics/backflying can cause the PC to come out prematurely. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. That's not a flock, that's a bunch of people standing on the ground! www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  13. What's that suppose to mean! It's pretty clear what he meant. I've lurked this forum for a long time and he is right, 99% of posts like yours get a LOT of negative responses very quickly. Taking offense to his comment is pointless, as it was not an observation about you (other than that he thinks you might be a pretty girl); it was an observation about the posters to this forum. Nobody said anything about pressuring anybody. Permission can be more dangerous than pressure. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

    Trust a cheat?

That statement makes absolutely no sense. "Keeping in mind that you could be next" is the exact opposite of trusting. You can't do both. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  16. Look what a quick application of Photoshop's "Shadows/Highlights" can do.
  17. Now that the serious advice has been given, I will add the following. I learned from reading this forum that if you are having problems staying with your subject, you can simply grab onto them. Disclaimer: this is sarcasm, don't even think about listening to me. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  18. That picture confuses me. But it's good. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  19. I have an HC90 which is nearly identical to the HC96 (as Phree pointed out, neither have anything to do with the PC1000). When I purchased my HC90 I had to choose between it and the PC1000. I read a LOT of reviews on non skydiving sites and found that the PC1000 had better colors but the HC90 had better low light performance. It was also cheaper. Both are great cameras. Follow the link in my sig and watch the Puerto Rico video, that is 100% HC90 footage, although compressed for the web obviously, the color and lighting is still there. You will almost definitely want to top mount this camera. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  20. You cannot police the world through an internet forum, although your effort is commendable. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  21. I had overlooked that fact, thanks Kris.
  22. You could have won the contest at Russia with that GR. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  23. I'd say the 350D is closer to a "plastic 20D", if there is such a thing. I'd think the 400D would be BETTER than the 20D, but maybe I'm just basing this on the features I'd use. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  24. I don't know if I've seen the Patric footage... does anyone know how he actually negotiatied the "landing" inside the plane? If you just throw yourself in the door, you are going to drop 1 foot or 2 to the hard floor, which isn't much, but in a straight jacket that could cause some bumps and bruises at least. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  25. There was some sort of re-entry stunt where they shut the power off and went into a drogue-fall, wasn't there? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
