  1. "Pushing the limits" is subjective, IMO. I don't know much about bikes, but I had a friend who did long wheelies and rode 150+ mph all the time for years on end and showed me all the videos. I don't think he was "pushing limits" since he was doing the same thing every weekend, with probably a dozen friends who were all doing the same things. They wore safety gear, and only did their stuff on deserted roads where there was no traffic. In other words, they minimized risk, just like we do. The original poster never mentioned whether or not the guy is in traffic, or what safety gear he wears. All she said is that he goes fast and does wheelies. That in itself cannot be called any stupider than skydiving IMO. Oh, and he got a ticket. Well, I have a few of those too, and I drive a Corolla with the flow of traffic. Unless we all skydive alone over the desert, we are putting other people at an extremely remote degree of risk, also. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

  3. Not true. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  4. Yes, I did. Since you mentioned that straight fixed lenses are heavier and more expensive than fisheye fixed, I added that the 10-22 (not fisheyed), while still more expensive, is actually lighter, (and a zoom lens, obviously). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  5. 10-22 is lighter than most of the fixed lenses I've found, but definitely not cheap. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  6. Whether or not you want to call it a fisheye, the distortions are still fairly high. See the attached pictures (taken with 350D) from Canon 15mm review on photozone.de. The Canon 10-22mm has AMAZINGLY low distortions (virtually zero) across the entire zoom range. I just got mine a few days ago and will be trying it out this weekend. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  7. Contact the magazine, they will probably know how to get in touch with him, or can relay a message maybe. I agree the shot is unique and am trying to figure out how he got it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

    Hog Flop

It's actually a greater challenge to not take video of Mike. He always seems to pop up right where I am already looking. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

  10. Inspired by the "thrown up in the plane" poll. All I have to say for myself is that the plane ride up was very bumpy, I was very hungover, and thought I was going to lose it on the plane. I managed to exit and freefall ok, but under canopy the nausea came back. Puking into 20mph wind is not cool. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  11. I almost got the Sigma 15mm which so many people use, but I didn't like that you can't put a filter on the front, and the distortions (fisheye) are extreme. On the 10-22, even at 10mm there is virtually no distortion, which is amazing. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. Crank up your speakers and press play! Download from: my site skydivingmovies.com From the SM.com info page: This is the official video for Skydive City's annual 'Z-Flock and a half' wingsuit event, held September 2006. The footage consists of small and medium wingsuit formations, including 3D static flocks, and a few interesting relative dynamic passes. 13. Hey, look who's on the internet! Look forward to flying with you, Paul.
  14. Very nice shots for the kit lens indeed. That's exactly what I've been using but after six months the lens no longer focuses right, even on manual. I guess that's what everybody meant by "cheap build quality"... but I think I got my money's worth out of it. The new one is only a little heavier but I put it on my head last night and can feel a significant difference. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  15. Nice pictures indeed. What is your setup? I just got a Canon 10-22mm yesterday I can't wait to put to use... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  16. There will be more, most likely. Most people don't usually read these threads... like you in past years. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  17. An interesting thing to note about that pic is that his legwing is curved DOWNWARDS. Scott Bland and I watched some video footage of this in awe... the legwing will be curved upwards like you'd expect for a few seconds, then without warning it will invert and curve downwards, alternating back and forth at a varying rate. We could not make sense of it, although our best guess was that the airflow coming over the top of his rig had something to do with it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  18. That is the weekend of the Hog Flop, Chuck. Are you going? I know Cochran is. EDIT: Nevermind, I see your post in the HF thread. I just talked to Mike on the phone and am trying to get him to come there instead. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

  20. I left my phone in the hotel room for a reason, dude. If I am extremely drunk and you for some reason take it upon yourself to deliver me my phone from the hotel room (where I left it intentionally hours prior), I will probably take it from you, place it in my pocket, and promptly forget about it. And then I will likely get covered in pie, and jump in the nearest pool. Bringing us back to the fact that I intentionally left the phone in the room in the first place, before leaving for the party, BEFORE I got drunk and pied, to prevent something like this from happening. In my defense, I remembered the phone being in my pocket, while I was in midair above the water. That is an interesting thought process. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
