Yeah! Welcome... we will expect to see a lot more of you around. I'm just shutting up the hangar now. Those of us who are left over are heading to a local haunted house to finish off a very enjoyable weekend.

Load one halloween full moon night jumps has landed safely!! Load two is getting ready to go! Then we get drunk... ok, someone gets drunk - I have to work tomorrow and I'm getting too old for this stuff.

People can camp anytime they want to! You are more than welcome to pitch a tent (he, he - favorite butthead laugh)... Yeah, we are going to have a party after all. We had pretty much canned it after all the hurricane stuff but now we've decided to say WTF let's have some fun. Friday night we will all be going to the Sand Bar at Cpt. Hirams for it's first night opened after Jeanne. The restaurant wont be ready for a few more months! Saturday night we'll do something here!

We will be closed Tuesday, November 2 through Thursday, November 4th. Really this time! They are repaving the runway. I know I said the same thing last week and a few weeks before that and I think about a month before that but this time I really mean it!

December 4 - 5th at Sebastian we are going to be raising money for the Humane Society. For experienced jumpers if you pay a $10.00 "registration fee" - we will donate that and $1.00 for every jump you do that weekend to our local Humane Society. We will be donating $20.00 per tandem jumper. Also that weekend on the 4th we will be having a swoop meet with the FLCPA. They will be introducing a new class for 9 cell canopies! It should be a pretty busy little weekend!

Where've you been hiding out? When will we be seeing your smiling face again?

I just came back from another trip down there and this time I actually checked out the rooms at the Sombrero. The resort rooms are actually kind of nice and the resort rooms turn into the 2 bedroom efficiencies with the mere unlocking of a door between the two. The condo that I looked at was kind of shabby. I shouldn't say shabby it was clean and had enough room but I hate when they have tv's that look like ones I had as a child! The condo's are supposed to be waterview. However, it is waterview from the front door not your slider on the back that overlooks the pool or the parking lot. Still nice...

If you stay at Sombrero you can get a whole condo for $75.00 a night. That's two beds or a king bed and a pull out queen sleeper in the living room and a kitchen AND it's a water view as well! They'd be crazy not to share that!

He hasn't given me all the details yet. I'll post more as I know more. I know he will have RW and freefly organizing. Cisco Neri will also be here. They will have a swoop meet as well. Knowing Uwe there should be some fun tracking dives and some wingsuit jumps. Hit and chugs on sunset load and lots of fun!

What are you doing for a costume? We just picked up a little fire pit thingy! I don't know what else to call it. Since the town made us fill in our firepit it just hasn't been the same - so we got something we can legally burn in! So pagen rituals around the new pit this weekend!! And don't forget that Drew will be here for RW jumpers!

We just posted it today so I'm not sure how many people know about it yet. Keep your ears & eyes open - you'll want to be here! Uwe is making us take line dancing lessons! I don't know how to dance if it isn't slow or techno! I've already dusted my chaps off but I think the boots went in the trash about five moves back.

She'll be back a little earlier this year! After partying it up in Atlanta for Halloween, the beautiful red & white checkered AirExpress skyvan will be migrating further south for the winter. Come out to Sebastian for the first weekend in November and jump the tailgate before she disappears to the Keys from November 11 - 14 for the Keys Boogie on Marathon Key.

I wish they would make up their minds!!! Now the airport will not be closed next week (October 24 - 29)! They just came back by and gave us the news. It will be happening very soon - they'll wait for us to have a nice busy holiday week and then do it to us!

If they want me to plead for my life so that I don't get burned to death by a lighter, then that's what I'd do. *** Burning to death by a lighter would be pretty freaking bad. I always thought burning to death would be one of the most horrible ways to go but by a lighter throws an even more evil twist. How long would it take? Would it be a bic that you have to hold down the button that gets hot until you have to let it go or would it be a zippo. Would it take more than one lighter? Would you have to refill it if it was a zippo?

they have a nice little GTI in Deland that I used a few times unless they sold it. I think it had a lot of purple. I know the bag it was in was mislabeled it said it was for someone 5'7 or 5'9" but I'm 5'3" and all of a 103 pounds and it fit me.

We really miss all our Danish friends. We used to have the teams here every winter but their coach moved to DeLand so off they went too!

I don't know that that is a very thorough rundown. You didn't even mention Sebastian which is the most scenic dz in Florida. But then ... anonymous posters...you can't expect them to be very thorough. In January and February all the Florida dz's will be busy so take some time and make the rounds. My picks would be Miami, Sebastian, Z-hills if you don't have tons of time but good transportation. If you've got more time then throw in Titusville, Lake Wales & DeLand on the route. If you don't have transportation then looks like you'll be stuck at Homestead (Miami) but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'm not sure about a shuttle from KeyWest. I know that there is a flight from Key West to Marathon.

I seem to recall a few people doing a jump with those on last year. It was, of course, just as a joke I'm not sure if the wings survived the jump. New updates... Derek Thomas will be organizing as will Drew and we already knew that Roger Ponce was on his way. Cisco will be freefly organizing. Newest update on the Sombrero Hotel - I believe I've already put the phone numbers on an earlier post - if I weren't so incredibly lazy today, I'd double check that - is they are giving us a kick ass rate on their condos which are all water view. Water view as in the marina & canals - it is not oceanfront. They will give us 1 bedroom condos with either a king size bed or two doubles in the bedroom and then a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room and the rooms have a kitchen as well. I believe it is $75.00 a night. Now they assume that you aren't stuffing 10 people to a room and I wouldn't tell them if you plan on doing that. Make sure you tell them you are with Skydive Sebastian - the condos are regularly 125 a night. They also have discounted rates on their regular rooms but the price is so close it's crazy not to get the condo! I already know a lot of people have booked their rooms at the Coconut Cay so if you've already booked there don't feel left out. Everyone will be there with you on Saturday night! There may be one other bonus treat... it isn't definate yet, but we may be using the DAV building while we are there which means........... Air conditioned packing!!! I'm checking that out the end of this week. Poor me, I have to make another trip to the keys. God, my life is so incredibly tough.
