Hi MJOsparky I may be mistaken but I don't believe the present leadership at USPA had anything to do with extending the repack cycle to 120 days. Yes The FAA is slow in changing things, but USPA has failed it's membership by failing to lobby the FAA aggessivly enough to extend the repack cycle. As far as PD's opinion on the repack cycle/ they have a vested interest in keeping the cycle as is. They can sell more reserve's. Paraflight also makes reserve's and they will test the porisity of their reserves (a quantifable objective test) for basically the cost of postage. Why can't PD do the same? because they don't want to! It's not in their best interests. Let stop blowing smoke, blaming the FAA etc and call a it what is Failure of USPA to represent their members due to _______ fill in the blanks. R.I.P.

I had 500 jumps on PC's and my malfunction rate was Zero. I learned how to pack by watching the Golden Knights pack. As much as they jump with the experience they have they have to be efficient, and know exactly what needs to be done and doesn't. During their demo's having a mal and ending up trying to land their round reserve could be exciting. Watched the knight pack his delta two but didn't know what I was looking at but did notice he took his time Wonder what his mal rate was, or if he got extra hazardous duty pay. R.I.P.

Anyone here think they would have payed money to make a jump on D day? Or even made one for the extra $55/month in jump pay in making the jump on D day. According to what I've read, seen on T.V. The Men who jumped on D Day who where physically able to continued to make other jumps onto the the nastiest Mcnasty I can imagine. Lot's of G.I.'s have jump wings, I believe the ones with the star in the middle of the wing are for Mcnasty jumps and the ones with star on top are for making a certain number of jumps. I may have them reversed but imo one Mcnasty is worth a lot more than the reguler jump. Either way in the army from what I saw flying in C-130s almost no one gets to snivel off a load, make decisions on winds, spot, etc. Green light on Go means go. I respect all enlisted swine military jumpers war time or peace time static line, halo, haho, or what ever they do. Of course in the army during peace time IMO there are some folks who get to choose to make only 5 jumps so they can wear the jump wings "proudly" on their uniform for the rest of their military careers. Hi Loudawg I haven't seen any flames or smoke. Sounds to me like you've already learned a lot. The main thing is their are lots of variables that you can control. This is cyber space I may have less experience than you do. Don't be afraid to ask the local rigger. BTW the number of repacks allowed on your reserve is determined by the reserve manufactor, Who has your best interests at heart The time allowed between reserve repacks is determined by The Feds. USPA has your best interests at heart and has been, is, and will continue to work their butts off on getting the feds to change the regulations. I hope you don't consider this a flame on you, The gear manufactors or USPA. Trust me R.I.P.

Raeford DZ Is the home/bithplace of more world class jumpers than any DZ that I know of in the world. FWIW IMO The worlds greatest Female accuracy and style champion in the world got her start under Jean Paul's wing at Raeford befor joing the army and the golden knights. Lets see what's her nameMs Sterns (sp?) The different owners operator's at Raeford make perfect sense unless someone had the big bucks to but the whole show and I'm sure there are other legal and business advantages (please don't explain). When I checked out your websight I was initially surprised that I didn't the usual USPA GM offical stamp of approval that I've seen on a lot of other DZ websight's. 2 bucks for a gallon of gas is a lot of money if your making minimum wage and have to drive x miles to work and get y miles /gallon If your a trucker and drive 100k miles/yr a small increase in the cost of gas will add up. The trucker passes the price on down to the consumer so the price of everything delivered by truck goes up. This is called inflation. The minimum wage person will pay for that also and the minimum wage laws won't catch up for years. OTOH water is free. If a person living in a area with a safe water supply wants to spend money to have a machine put the water that came from where? in a bottle and cap it and is willing to pay for it I don't think those folks are concerned about the price of the water. It's the Bottle that counts Personally I bought one bottle of the water in the green bottle with the french name and just refill it from the tap befor I leave the house to impress the Babes Since I started carrying around my green bottle of water I have had to book my dates 2 weeks in advance. Hi Loudawg In the spirit of cooperation I suggest you do a search on this websight for your concerns, and ask your rigger and the riggers forum to gain some real world knowledge. Example:I would not store my rig in the trunk of a black car in arizona in the summer time for more than x minutes/hrs/days/weeks and expect anything to work. I would store my rig in my closet in my temperature controled home in the summer in arizona for 120 days and expect it to work.

Hi Ryoder USA doesn't care about the rest of the worlds reserve repeack cycle. We know it all and are always correct. Please don't try and confuse the issue with the facts. USA says 120 days it stays 120 days the rest of the world needs to change their repack cycle to 120 days. . R.I.P. This has me curious; Could all of the non-US jumpers chime in here and let us know what their country requires for a repack cycle?
