Fuck going through a VW dealer for an older VW. There are a good handful of companies I trust for order good quality parts for older VWs (especially aircooled). I'll be happy to post a short list if wanted. Affirmative All we had was a 1600 cc single carb camper among other VW's don't know about the new stuff but the dealer routine is what it is regardless of what you paid for the vehicle the dealers mechanic rates and parts will cost you a big bundle. VW's are/were manufactured in other countries so there should be lots of alternate sources for parts. Don't know if a reguler person can work on todays hi tech stuff, fuel injection, computer chips. etc. Dual carbs The VW campers (single carb) were great, could do your own maintenence, Pop top when you needed it etc. Just a little underpowered (stay in rt hand lane) and cold in the winter without the extra heater. English, French, Spanish, decent Italian, some German, Japanese and a little bit of Mandarin... I grew up in NYC speaking German until I was 3 yo then someone told my mom this is america speak english. So we lost 99.9% of our german language ability personally i'd prefer to be Bi...lingual. IMO europeons have a advantage that they border/do business/vacations with country's that speak a different language, and there are some commen traits in some of the languages. Historically america was isolated and due to our economic/miltary power we expected other cultures to learn our language. Bad idea. R.I.P.

Hi john Never said there wasn't a gun control lobby, there are two side to very coin, in this case there's the pro gun side vs the gun control side. We all know that. The NRA is our pro gun lobby and can get out a lot of votes. the NRA piuts out the word the politicans phones start ring they get pro gun mail and they get reelected. The anti gun folks got some minor laws passed a AR-15 without a bayonet or flash suppressor is still a AR-15. Hi capacity mags for ARs AK's were banned but there was such a large inventory that they were always available at a very reasonable price after the law passed . The price on glock mags went thru the roof but they were still available and what the diff beteen a 19 shot mag and 2 ten shot Mags?. Politicians want to get elected so some of them listened to the anti gun lobby and got some votes for supporting the Brady Bill which was a joke that really didn't change anything except maybe get them elected. There's alway been a law on the books for using a gun comiting a crime. Use a gun or threaten to hurt someone with a gun, apply the law just like they did with drug offenders convict and send then to jail for a very long time no plea deal jail. I've heard this argument for 30 yr's but for some reason the crooks who commit crimes with gun, haven't ben punished to the fullest extent. Why? the crooks don't have a lobby group to represent them a lot of them just have public defenders that do the plea bargain shuffle so the crooks get a relative slap on the wrist. Thats not sending the right kind of negative message to the little or big crooks. There are people in SC that want to protect their rights by crying chicken little evertime a anti gun incident occur's that's not going to go anywhere like the brady bill. It passed but didn't mean squat. BTW after the brady bill passed we bough 30 rd mags for our 9mm glock didn't cost anymore than the ripoff 19 rd mags. We go to the TSC load up 200 rds in all our mags and shoot on the same range that the cops practice on. we've never been bitched at for havng a 33rd glock mag by a cop on the range. As far as voicing my opinion about the repetive posts by certain people about the attacks on our guns rights, don't like my posts don't read them. It's called free speech and I have the same rights as anyone else as long as I play by the rules. So until you get me banned for voiceing my opinion in SC according to the rules, live with it or contact my employer for surfing the net on their nickel. As usual when people try to put words in my mouth, the words don't fit. If you're going to try and characterize what I'm saying, you've got to start paying more attention. John This isn't a personnel attack but IMO paying any more attention to what you have to say about gun ownwership and our right to bear arms is SOS. Nothing new just a rerun. Guess what, with this train of thought you will be forced to communicate with those that dont speak english because they will eventually over run us. This country is based on immagration (except the people who were here first but thats another issue) The people you refer to as "they" are "us" unless your a american indian. Someone mentioned the people wh work at fast food stores or the lady that wasn't going to get a drivers liscense because she couldn't speak english. What happens to the adults that grew up in this country and don't know how to read or make change. They are still able to function. If I lived in a area populated by a large spanish speaking population I would try and learn spanish while interacting in the community (hard for us old folks to learn a foreign language by a book). Sometimes it's very challenging for old folks to learn a second language for various reasons, some old folks can adapt some can't. However their children will are younf wnough to have their own friend go to local schools etc and will learn english and hopefully their parents/grandparents laguage. There are concentrations of differnt cultures in various parts of the US and english really isn't needed to function within that area. It does limit their options for jobs. living area etc, just like not being able to read does for american born adults. This "problem" as you percieve it is nothing new in NYC we had waves of europen immigrants that never learned to speak english but their children did
