  1. I'm so confused We did 4 yr's in the USAF declined the wonderful opputunity to reenlistand and got out in70. we were on a bubble for 2 yrs in the Inactive reserves. Has the military changed the "Inactive reserves" to Individual ready reserves and increased the time availabe to be activated to 4 yr's after enlistment runs out rather than 2 yr's. We never thought they would ever activate us due to the draft, I can't imagine the misery the backdoor draft is causing due to a loophole. But I still don't think the american public will accept a draft after V.N. Hope I'm not around to see it. R.I.P.
  2. Blast handle on the second from the right, back row, but I don't see the single-shot's. Help out an old mans eyes, which one? Sparky Hi Sparky This was a fun thread kind of like the pics of how may yhings can you pick out. I'm guessing the guy with the one shots is the dude middle rear row. Maybe called kryloks or something? Still don't think it's a old pic R.I.P.
  3. Nothing wrong with pink if the price is right. The rig might even fly better if the dude spends the money saved on other stuff...like coaching orTunnel time if he needs it.Did i say that R.I.P.
  4. The deepest pocket if there is one. Historically i think the cost of repairing a large number of manufactored items rigs, canopies, electric heaters baby cribs whatever, is beyond the financial capacity of a lot of companies to correct. Maybe a solution would be for a manufactor to Buy some kind of "recall insurance" to pay for the cost of the infrequent mass SB's that would exceed a certain total $$ value. Of course the added cost of this insurance, Bond whatever it would be called would be passed on to the consumer
  5. IMO we made a major error by disbanding the iraqi army. we're now in a position of trying to train a new iraqi army from scratch. It's going to take a long time for the iraqi's to be able to defend themselves from the trouble makers. The iraqi police appear to be out numbered, out trained and out gunned with a target on their backs. We need to turn the running of iraq back to the iraqi's, a election will be a start in the right direction since the majority of the iraqi's are not part of Saddams clan. And will make up a major part of the new Iraq goverment The challenge part is going keep the bully's from intimidating the iraqi gov't until their strong enough to protect themselves with their own army. We leave to soon we lose we leave to late we lose. Either way we can still support our troops and their families when they come back home. Their going to need our help and understanding for what they went thru. Our troops that didn't play by the rules and their chain of command shouldn't be given a free ride at the cost of the toops that served with honor. R.I.P.
  6. Looks like a Big ass canopy with a weird color pattern R.I.P.
  7. Mustbe a bad time of year for our dogs. We just got a new pup 2 month's ago so he had 2month's of max fun time and bonding. We woke up in the morning the 10 yr old lab went from a vibrant dog in his prime the night befor to heavy breathing and stiff limbs, couldn't even wag his tail. WTF mad rush to the vet enought time for xrays and a blood draw. Then dog gone He never had a sick day and the last 2 month's playing with the new puppy was a max fun factor for him.

  12. There is more than one way to "refuse" a "illegal order" One way is the "Whatever" factor or "yes sir". The results of some orders are easy to follow "deliver 50 widgets by noon" The results of other orders are hard to track every try and look for a left handed monkey wrench
  13. Our van had the upright air cooled 1.6 liter engine it. That engine puts out the same amount of heat for a camper that it does for a Beetle Back in the day the VW's were populer in certain groups of people because they were inexpensive to buy, inexpensive to maintain, could take a beating and keep on ticking. A lot of those advantages no longer exist unless maybe you live in Brasil
  14. Mr Graner was a Guard (CO) in the civilian world. If he is what they say he is a sadistic sicko it makes a person wonder what he used to do get wawy with at work befor the war. Of course his prevous boss said he was a good CO. The fact that he liked posing for pictures doing bad things makes a person wonder if he was just a big dumb bully control freak, that got caught with the goods. IMO he got of easy. R.I.P.
  15. Water cooled. Whats wrong with water cooled. I had a 74 VW bus with a Chevy V6 in the back. Now that made a great VW. Water cooled
  16. Sounds like a grear subject for safety day and a SOP to be handed out to all the visiting jumpers. There's plenty of ways of getting the job safely as long as everyone has the sme plan. Arueing about folts doing a std accuracy approach to the pea's IMO is silly thats what the peas are for. Most DZ's can have a bunch of landing disciplines at the same time as long as there is a agreement as to the rules of the road. What makes this more confusing is DZ's have different rules and there will always be some people who won't play by the rules. Be safe people your only into the second week of January and we're already losing people. The sport is continues to evolve and the DZ SOP's need to evolve with it. If a DZ doesn't have SOPs for landing or their not enforced maybe its time to find another DZ. Your the customer and it's your life. If you don't feel safe maybe you can find another DZ where you can, but stil keep your head on a swizzle. R.I.P.

  18. I strongly disagree. A language is the reflection of a culture. so you are telling me that having a conversation or attempting to have a conversation with someone in the usa that speaks spanish is a way to experience their culture? Bullshit. Language has nothing to do with culture. IMO learning another language is the beginning of learning another culture, Fisrt you have to be able to communicate (if you want to) than you can prceed to the next stage (if you want to). Not beating up on you. The US is a large melting pot but we're still kind of isolated by geography. The rest of the world can be a very interesting place it's up to you. Don't want to
  19. err clay Not all women are bad you just have to learn how to communicate and do whatever they say Just got to let them know who's boss I wear the pants in my family my wife bought them for me Have you ever met a sheep you didn't like R.I.P.

    Car wont start

Hi SS Got AAA or towing insurance thru your auto policy if the problem is the battery they can give you a jump so you can get to a place to check out your battery. How old is your battery? If you got a stick shift and live on a hill "pop the clutch" Always good idea to have a pair of jumper cables, A poor babe standing by her car with jumper cables Some hero will get the message and stop and give your battery a boost real quick. Good luck R.I.P. BTW Battery warrenties a re pro rated

I think the older folks have seen a lot of good and bad stuff. Sometimes it's hard to watch the younger folks make the same mistakes and get hurt. OTOH younger folks have the advantage of growing up with the new technology, something that a lot of us err I mean the older folks are having a hard time play catch up especially if we err I mean they don't have kids. As far as the old folks who can't handle the natural ageing process, to bad for them We need to spend our time living the good life rather than worry about something we have no control over. Every day I get older is a good day
