Hi I agree up to a point. GW inherited the problem. But just like the politicans before him GW AND his people are only making the situation worse. The next president and the next and the next will have to deal with the Hornets nest that GW and the previous president stirred up. IMO A new spin on the domino theory. R.I.P.

I'll clue you in why: think Ghetto. Same reason a lot of the folks in the hood can't drive a car. How common? depends on where you live and socio eco status. We did finally learn how to float at the Y. No biggie just don't take a bath without our rubber ducky. Ever notice Bali, hawaii and all those other islands that you go to jump are surrounded by water. I hate jumping on Islands even with our rubber duck. The good news is when we do fall off the boat etc we know we aren't going to drown, my duck is my friend, my sheep is my second best friend R.I.P.

Same here and with out a lift is just a pain in the ass to crawal around ------------------------------------------------------------- Then get one of these nice toys err.. tools I do everything on my cars... nice to have right toys / tools to do the job right. Very nice

Screw the FAR If your in your own car/plane by your self and don't want to wear your seat belt be my guest. But don't do it when your with others because your selfish lazy ass will hurt others when there's a incident and thats not a decision thats your to make. R.I.P.

The math for that many jumps is intersting save a second per cycle = 4 more jumps . Pleadge a dime /jump = $60 1000 jumpers = $60K Wonder which DZ can raise the most $$$$ Best of Luck Mr Stokes. R.I.P.

i would of thought a strong mind/decisive etc would be the apparent factor rather than an ego. as people say, the sport iss 99% mental. i dont really get how having an ego can make you a more successful skydiver. Just watch the group dynamics at some of the DZ's Just like the bully on the school bus. R.I.P.

http://www.mostjumps2006.com/ Is this possiable Knowing Mr Stokes yes it is as long as the rest of his team can keep up and the weather gods and Acft can hold togehter. Good luck to all of those involved, and thanks to the sponsers. R.I.P.

Hi Towerrat After further review of the origional posters: profile past posts, reviews and gear for sale IMO folks we've been had it's time to take the hooks out of our mouths and learn from this experience, I know I have. The origional poster is laughing his ass off and accomplished his mission. R.I.P.

And your desire to spiral? All kidding aside, high capacity loads like this do get strung out so always be prepared with a pull up cord, your cell and a sense of which direction to walk when the corn is over your head. When we jumped the 727 at quincy we were told by folks who jumped the jet the previous years that landing on the airport was a very iffy situation. IOW No way jose The good news was the local's would be waiting with their P.U. trucks to haul us back to the DZ. Just try and land as close as possiable to a road. It was true landed a couple miles out and no walking required Never found out what happened to the two sweet young things that jumped naked on our load. don't forget DB cooper #1 still hasn't been heard from.Damn night jumps. We used to look forward to seeing out dentist, free Nitrous Wanna leave me in the chair for 30 minutes while your working on another patient. No problemo thats another 30 minutes of nitrous. Since we moved to another part of the country, I changed my opinion of dentist. want nitrous? that will be an additional $45 and the machines can only be turned up so high for safety reason etc. IOW the dentist won't tell you no you can't have nitrous., they just make it very $$$$ so you won't ask for it. I'm curious to know if discouraging the use of nitrous is std practice in the dental profession or just a local thing. FWIW ther have been studies that showed female dental workers had a higher incidence of having chirldren with birth defects that was attributed to there exposure to Nitrous due to leaks in the distibution system. I'm guessing thats why the local dentists use individual bottles. I forgor did I tell you how much I enjoyed nitrous and it had no permanet adverse affects on my memory If I remember maybe I'll start a poll on something.... R.I.P.

Hi Spence Likeable Asshole only if your a muff bro You know the deal Don't sweat the troll's in cyber space. In our short time on DZ.com we've seen folks come PW talk shit and leave never to be head from again. To bad there's always someone to take their place, but what the hell

Bad boy, Bad boy, what you gonna do........ Hopefully this is the last bottom feeder in our sport If it isn't maybe we need to start keeping track of all the recoved gear as a result of this websight like they do on T.V. R.I.P.

Replying to an overly broad generalization with a presumptuous stereotype. How very persuasive. Hi Andy I'd like to give towerrat the benifit of the doubt Did he mean what he said to make a point? Then to bad he missed the mark. On a positive note if towerrat was trying to provide the DZ.com family some real funny entertainment in this thread, then he was very successful. R.I.P. B-7881

Hi Rat Why don't you just tell us what you really think without all the sugar coating Some of us old farts know the real deal because we were there back in the day and are still here. IOW our opinions are based on first hand experience, instead of drop zone legends repeated over the last 40 years around the campfire. Of course some of what you said happened back in the day at some DZ's and it's still happening today at some DZ's. IMO if the subject line of the thread was changed from the "Deterioration of" to "Evolution" of skydiving than some people wouldn't be so defensive. Everything changes over time sometimes for the better sometimes for the worse. Have a good one R.I.P.

What can we do about Skyride?
slug replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Martin Couldn't B&C just buy you out and then hire you to run the DZ and suck in (oops) attract customers from a four state area You might even get a raise But i'm guessing you wouldn't be able to lower your morals to fit into B&C's scam excuse me I meant business model. R.I.P. -
Can we all have a group hug in cyber space R.I.P.

CounterPoint....that is for a CONCEALED permit.... I know up here you do not need to get that to buy...and own a weapon for your home/personal protection or for hunting use. My point is you can buy....even if you have to wait the mandatory waiting period...no Permit... no hunting license needed..... AND no training. Hell if I want to carry a handgun/longgun here all I need do is keep it in plain sight in my truck...although it IS illegal to have it there loaded in or on a vehicle. Hi A We got our CWP without any training. So in this state if you want to carry just pay your $50 for a background check and bingo in 6 weeks it is legal to carry you loaded stuff everywhere except bars, schools, court houses etc. We got our permit in Tacoma standing in line with dudes wearing red and blue hankies on their head. The guy in front of us did get turned down due to a 20+ yr old felony he forgot about IMO anyone who messes with you even if you don't have a gun would be . But I said the same thing about Aggie Dave and someone still messed with him R.I.P.

IMO This thread was posted in the wrong forum. Mullins jr was able to resolve his concerns about a gear deal gone bad in a week by posting his problem in the skydiving forum. Anyone know how to get this thread switched to the other forum? Or this one is going to die a slow painful death in SC? R.I.P.

Try tipping the DZ staff with sex R.I.P.
-
Yes it's their job, but their not paid enough (minimum wage) by their employer to earn a living. Most folks realise this and tip their waitress based on the quality of service they recieve. In some countries 15% is automatically added to the bill to compensate the waiters/waitresses. R.I.P.

depends on the DZ and the services you use Tip the: parking lot attendent manifest person pilot instructor Video person packer bathroom attendent Snackbar/waitress Bartender Ambulance driver EMT's Dr's Nurse's R.I.P.

I have heard of such places but never been to one. I am just happy if the porta-potty gets pumped once a week. Porta potty There are only four things that a DZ needs: Airplane Runway Landing area Vibes The rest is optional R.I.P.

FWIW We heard "Every marine is a riflemen" BTW not tough enough to be a Marine, just a draft dodging air force enlisted swine on flt status back in the day. Semper Fi R.I.P.
