  6. They hold value well. You could always buy new: http://marketplace.amazia.com/para-service/22.asp?cn=152126&affid=&page=22&pagenumber=&sgldbl= I bought a used pd reserve and it costed me about 150$ less than a new one. But, it's still 150$ that I can spend on something else, and the reserve is completely airworthy as per my rigger:) So, i'm very happy! :) Angela.
  7. Missy, You can get lots of stuff knocked off in a single dive (riser turns, canopy control, landing near target, etc), you just need to let someone know what you're doing first. If you appear determined to get the card taken care of, you'll get their attention and get things signed off. I didn't get my card done at Sebastian, I did it at Deland and Z-hills. But, I found the only way to get it done was to annoy the hell out of an instructor in Deland, haha. Then, when I went to z-hills, I just needed someone to go over spotting, some aircraft stuff, and I did a coach jump for my second dock dive. When I arrived in the morning I made it very clear I wanted it signed off that day, and I spoke to one instructor that didn't seem to have the time/motivation to help me, so I found another one that did. Do your packing class, and have someone watch and sign of canopy control. Practice your landings and try to land w/in 60 meters of target. Find an instructor that will help you:) See ya 2moro! Angela.
  8. So, everyone just chills on the beach, then? Sounds like a good chance to get a tan. :p angela.
  9. Yeah. What the main monkey said. Bring on the microphone. Is it here yet? How long now? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? haha. :P Oh, this is gonna be soooo good. ! Angela.
  10. Dude, I bet that person was flipped out! lol! I have *almost* had the same problem before. But, instead ended up all duh, duh, pause, oh yea *light bulb in head* then said it correctly. I've been here 3 years now. I don't talk on the phone much, but i've even answered by cell phone "IT can I help you?" lol! angela.
  11. Too bad you couldn't have an answer that says they don't cheat. Just viewing the poll it makes me wary of dating within the skydiving community. I have to keep in mind, tho, that (hopefully) many people couldn't vote because they don't cheat. sorry you were cheated on. That sucks:( Angela.
  12. Awesome! Sounds like you've had a great day!! I, um, got my oil changed (on my car!). And, I realized that I am not ready for my chem exam on Monday, so i'm stuck studying for hours on end! But, glad your day went well! :) Angela.
  13. Or maybe the parties after the last load goes up. haha! 22 here, dunno what my organs look like, but i've got 5 ulcers, does that count? lol! angela.
  14. I think the pc version is harder because it the actual game involves use of your hand hitting different squares, whereas the pc version you click the mouse just the same every time. I don't know if i'm explaining this well, anyone know what i'm talking about? Same concept as if you read something you learn less than if you say read it alloud to others. I scored a 10 on my first try. Not bothering to do it again. I used to do really well with the actual Simon game when I was a kid. I've either burned too many brain cells, or my theory above is correct. Angela
  15. Ivan, please, try it on, just to see how it fits... haha!!!!
  16. i did too that sucks, but i think it has to do with the fact that i'm only 21 Yeah, me, too. I'm only 22. I think they have discounted the fact that I started drinking at 12. lol!! Angela.
  17. No one really knows what she wanted, I suppose it isn't written anywhere. I voted it should be removed, to me it just doesn't make sense to keep this woman alive if she's been in this state nearing 14 years. For the record, should it ever come to this for me, I beg that someone have me unplugged, I would not want to live that way, and can't understand why anyone else would want to, either. Although I know that some religious folks would because they feel it would otherwise be suicide and they would go to hell. Angela.
  18. Thanks, Dee. I'll see about getting some tight little capri pants. I don't really have any, I don't think. Shopping has taken a back seat to skydiving these days, i'll have to make a little time to catch up. haha. thx ! Angela.
  19. I agree. I made plenty of jumps with others before getting my 'a' license. As long as the person is experienced, there should be no problem with you going up with them. Granted, I didn't make these jumps in Sebastian, I do not know what their policy is. But, Deland and Z-hills didn't have a problem with it. Have you asked in Sebastian? Did they tell you no? As far as what you can work on, I would say tracking (steep, flat), and back flying, make sure you are tracking perpendicular to the line of flight. Get comfortable flailing in the sky and returning to belly to earth quickly and consistantly. And those fast turns and stops will be good, too. I'd do a jump with you, but I am told before you get your 'a' license, that if you want to do a jump with someone you should have at least 100 jumps combined. I only have 45. What do you have left on that 'a' card? Have you taken your packing class? I'd get that done right away, and just work on landing near the target on every jump, make sure you log it and get it signed off. I had a few things signed off here n there (packing, landings, some riser turns, etc under canopy) and then went to z-hills and finished my card in a day with Lori (I think) as a coach. She's great! Angela.
  20. Oh, man, i'm gonna hear it when I get home. My roommate, Amy, will probably be crying. *sigh* sports. Boxing, now that is fun to watch! Angela.
  21. Thanks everyone! I think i'll wait a bit longer in buying ff clothes. I have been jumping mostly in tanks and tight bottoms or semi-loose bottoms, i've been told it is a good thing as my sit will be more stable if I can do it without drag on my arms. Still, it'd be nice to have cool jump gear! :p Thanks! I'll probly give firefly a go when I am ready. Angela.
  22. Just thought i'd toss you the link the hp landing info on pd's website:: http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/flylnd.pdf Happy swooping:) Angela.
  23. well said. I was told by some packers, "don't worry, they're made to open". I tell you, this IS the truth. Of course you don't want to spin it b4 putting it in the container, but even if you think it looks like crap getting it in the d-bag, it'll probably open just fine. Just make sure the slider is down and covered. I am finally starting to get a little better at this. Worse part is, before I was borrowing a rig and it was made for a 170sf main and I was putting a 150 in it. Now i'm putting that 150 in a bag and container sized for a 135sf main. It's a bitch, but it is possible. :p Angela.
