  1. Ian, why didn't the beach jumps go? just curious. angela.
  2. oh, my. I would never jump in 35mph winds! I don't know of many people who would. I don't even think our dz sends loads up in winds like that. Good luck with your 'a' license. You can always finish up your requirements in Florida if you can't do them there, just make sure you stay current. what are you missing on the card? PM me when it gets closer to coming to Fla, my home dz is Sebastian but I frequent others as well and maybe we can meet up:) Cya soon, welcome to the forums ! Angela.
  3. Really, tho. You'd think it would stop the test right there, lol! I'm almost as gay as you are Angela.
  4. Me, too. lol! Say's i'm a happy and well adjusted hetero babe. Angela.
  5. Speak for yourself... i'm kinda curious:p Angela.
  6. I don't think that's true. I'm very easily bored by things. I do find some jumps boring. Before I started doing sit flying recently, I had made an attempted 4 way rw dive. Two split off at exit and I held to one of them. We just fell and didn't do anything. I would've liked to have done something but he was trying to fall fast to get to one of the others that was impossible. This dive bored me. I don't think I should take up another sport. I have made some pretty fun dives lately and I really enjoy freeflying and that's where i'm going to stay for a while. If it gets boring, i'll try something new in skydiving, not a new sport altogether. Hopefully i'll get to swoop one day, that looks like lots of fun! :) Angela.
  7. Whoa, dude! Um, she actually said you're treating her like a cheap fuck? Are you? If not, maybe you should consider breaking that up if it's already pissy after a month. jmo. She said you think she's ugly and she thinks your cheating? That's the thing about sleeping together too soon, there is not enough trust in the beginning to hold it together if one person isn't sure what the other is doing with their time. Not to say i'm not guilty of this, just saying that that's the problem with it. Angela.
  8. Which drugs? I mean, are we talking over the counter legal here? Think of how many recreational drugs are not illegal, but rather are prescription only and therefore illegal to take w/o a script... Are we going to make those over the counter, too? Why should ex, acid, cocaine, etc be ok to buy over the counter, but not oxicontin or xanax? You could OD on almost anything, which is why we have controlled substances. So, how can we make it ok to buy some things that one can overdose on (ie, heroin), and not others (ie, oxicontin)? Too many points to consider. I think pot could safely be legalized, but that's about it. Angela.
  9. Thanks everyone. It's cool to see that many of the parties have an "or equiv" clause. 20$, huh? I suppose I *could* go ahead and get it, it isn't that expensive. We'll see. Who knows when i'll get the water training done, I need a weekend day. Night jumps do sound like fun, although i'd be a little paranoid about landing at night, i've seen some bad stories. Thanks all! Angela.
  10. I wouldn't press charges. Good luck, sounds like you have a tough job! Much respect to you. Angela.
  11. I have a mitsubishi lancer. I can transport 2 or 3 people, when the whole thing is done. I think the bytch has a minivan, haha! So, does this mean there will indeed be beach jumps, or ? Angela.
  12. So true! I think about this all the time. We're very lucky to get to experience what we do... and again and again. I am so glad to be a part of this sport! Awesome pictures guys! Angela.
  13. That's a ridiculous generalization! Not everyone has a fear about this. It doesn't make them stupid, nor does it mean they are unaware. Of course as you get more jumps your awareness increases, but to generalize and say that prior to that you had to be scared in order to be considered smart is absurd. I wasn't scared. Nor do I consider myself stupid. I went through the course, I was completely confident when I got out there, I was very aware or altitude, and my awareness of surroundings came with time and is still increasing every jump. There's nothing wrong with being scared, but there's nothing wrong with NOT being scared, either. Angela.
  14. I wasn't really even nervous about the first jump. What did nerve me was not knowing if i'd get all the stuff in level (5 or 6?) done. Like FL, BL, 360s, tracking... all in 1 dive. But, fortunately, I did:) Nothing better than being out of AFF, no one you have to impress then:D Just do whatever you please(within reason) Angela
  15. After hearing about AFP, I think it's a better program. So many people get done with AFF and have trouble figuring out how to complete the A card, and instructors aren't nearly as helpful when you're not paying them. You have to bug them to get info and signatures, etc. I did AFF and I don't regret it because i'm a super persistant person and I got my card taken care of.... But, I see people who aren't as persistant and they have enough jumps to fulfil license requirements, but still don't have nearly enough signatures on that card. So, my vote, even though I didn't take it, would be for AFP. Angela.
  16. And will there be beach jumps at sunset, or ? Just curious, not that I can jump, but i'd like to come out to the beach and watch:) Angela.
  17. So, Ian, if i've fulfilled the requirements (ie, water training), then if something comes up I can just take the test and fax the app over and be good to go, right? I don't plan on any balloon jumps in the near future, but if some arise, I might want to be a part of it... however, i'll probably complete the 'c' requirements in the next 9 or 10 months anyhow, so I don't know if I wanna toss the extra cash out when I could put it toward jumps/ canopy classes/ etc. Thx. Angela.
  18. Seems like your subject is a completely different question than your post. But, i'll answer the post. Mirage offers credit, if you have good/decent credit you could probably finance new gear. I highly doubt you'll find a place financing used gear. I bought all of my gear used: Javelin tjn, dom 97 or 98, $500 PD reserve, 1 deploy, $680 PD zero-p canopy, 230 jumps, $1000 I do not yet have an aad. Total so far is 2200$. Angela.
  19. The only benefit I see is you can make night jumps. So, i'm wondering, other than that, is there any reason not to hold out and just pay the fee for the 'c' license down the road? You don't *have* to have the 'b' to get the 'c', you just have to have completed it's requirements and those for the'c'. I just can't justify spending the extra cash unless for some reason there are boogies or something where a 'b' license holds more weight than an 'a' license. Thoughts/info? thx. Angela.
  20. My thoughts are with you and your family. May she rest in peace. Angela.
  21. Man, that's a terrible poll. I had to choose sex, tho. I love skydiving, don't get me wrong. But, how terribly frusterated i'd be if not for sex. :p Not that I couldn't take care of it on my own, but affection is important to me, and, well.. anyhow, I chose sex. Angela.
  22. The few packers we have at Raeford make anywhere to 3-4K a month packing for the school and/or the knights. We can't get enough packers here, so for all you packers looking to make the $$ might want to make a call. Damn! I'm in the wrong business!! I pack for myself. Getting better every weekend:) At first I was much happier having packers to do it. But, as i'm becoming more in touch with my gear, I kind of like the responsibility. Plus, if it opens funny, I can think what I did on the pack. Just like sometimes i'll pack and say, "hmm, this might open funny", then it does or doesn't and that governs my next pack job. In the end, if it were free, I wouldn't pack it, but for the $$, I can get another jump at the end of the day or some beer:) Angela.
