Well, I of course can't be listened to because I have a meager 100 jumps... but, no one has ever cut in front of me to check the spot. I think if I had more experience and could spot well, this would piss me off, too, and therefore said person seems to be generally in the wrong here. However, I can't spot for shit, so if I were doing a solo, and it were questionable, i'd probably ask someone else to check the spot. I do most of my jumps 2-way with my bf, though, and he spots so i'm not worried about it:) jmo. angela

Newbie to Skydiving with many many questions...
SkydiveNFlorida replied to wahberee's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I agree, Bubbles. I can barely drive in the back of a car, and get sick just looking at a roller coaster. Yet I have no problems skydiving. angela. -
It would be very difficult for me to not pop someone in the mouth if they did this to me. I'm getting my 40$ worth, i'll tell ya that much Angela.

Valentines Free-Fly Competetion
SkydiveNFlorida replied to Airborne03's topic in Events & Places to Jump
That's cool:) Hey, maybe i'll get really good by then (ha!). How does that work anyhow? Do you do two ways? Do they send someone with you to film, or are you supposed to have a camera? How is it judged? Angela. -
hah! Sounds like that was one to be remembered! I miss zhillz! Angela.

For you AFF Students out there...
SkydiveNFlorida replied to Scrumpot's topic in Safety and Training
I believe that the point Jim was trying to get across is that "everything possible" could still fail to be enough. Goose said with such confidence that he was sure they'd pull for him, and undoubtably, they would indeed make their greatest effort i'm sure... but it IS possible that they aren't able to. Anything is possible, it's a big sky. Angela. -
There are some who jump w/o helmets. I guess I just wouldn't be one. Especially with my lack of a cypres. Why don't you just ask at your dz what the requirements are. It's your life, if you want to jump w/o a helmet and they will let you, then it is your call to do so... Angela.

Suggestions for newbie visiting new DZ??
SkydiveNFlorida replied to skygrl70's topic in Safety and Training
That's cool. Too bad you can't come, but it is always a good time to visit Florida you know!! I think the PMS are going to be in New Orleans end of February for the Mardi Gras boogie. Maybe you could go back again. I won't make it this year, maybe next:) have fun & eat lots!! New Orleans is a great city! Angela. -
My take on helmets: 1) dytter holder 2) some protection if you hit your head on the plane 3) possibly some mid-air collision protection if someone kicks you in the head. Just curious as to why you feel that a helmet is so useless.? Of course if you don't pull and slam into the ground at 160, well, it isn't going to do you much good... but they are functional in ways. Just looking to get an idea of what I want, I have already decided on colors (purple, metallic silver, black). PLEASE POST PIX! -
Any Back Problems In THis Sport??
SkydiveNFlorida replied to partyboy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't have back problems, but I have gotten backaches jumping Sabres, and from arching. Thankfully, you can get other canopies and take up freeflying Skybytch flies a Spectre, the openings on those are nice ime. Angela. -
For one, I do not! I definitely believe that even the poor should be educated. There are enough rich people in this country... take more taxes from the for education if $$ is lacking. jmo. Oh, and what about lottery funds? I know that the Fla lottery is supposed to have funds alloted to education, though i'm unsure of a % or fixed sum and where exactly that $$ goes (I suspect only Florida?). Angela.

Wow, that is moving! You are awesome! Yeah, it is definitely unfair that you should have to pay for those things. A shame Hope you have a Happy New Year! Angela.

Yeah, chick! Get out, go to Hirams and get sloshed. That's what i'd do if I lived in Seb... that or i'd drive to Orlando. Angela
