Additionally... you *might* want to check out used gear because ordering something new you so early in your skydiving career may not be the best decision since you *may* downsize from a 210sf canopy to something more reasonable for your size (you look small, forgive me if i'm wrong) within the next year... obviously, your mileage may vary here. I got a used Javelin from Lisa (skybytch) at the Drop Shop and am very happy with it. I had a few mods done to make it more ff safe, and it is an awesome rig! Make sure if you buy used to have a rigger check the gear out for you before you purchase. If you buy used over the internet, the owner should be willing to ship it to your rigger for inspection (and you to try on) before any $$ is exchanged. jmo of course. Angela.

If all else is equal, how the container looks is a perfectly valid thing to base your decision on. I think that's what I was trying to say in my last reply. Somehow your answer is just much more to the point and understandable. Thanks, Lisa. Angela.

Honestly, I think that isn't a very good way to choose a rig. Choosing a rig on its merits is the way to go, IMHO. I hear ya, Dave... but, the top names are all pretty safe I thought. I am not an expert, and not a rigger. I have my bf for that I suppose I am a bit vain when it comes to my container. I want something that serves it's purpose well AND looks good. Angela.

What do you like the look of? Walk around at your dz and check out peoples rigs, see what you like, what you can picture yourself in (in your colours of course). Then, get a riggers opinion. Personally I think my next rig will be a Voodoo. I really like my bf's Voodoo, ff safe and looks very nice. I think Wings are some of the ugliest containers i've seen. I just don't like them. Many do, though. jmo. Angela.

I agree! The first time I tried sushi I thought it left much to be desired. I've tried it a few times since and really like it:) All is well here, Liz! How's the weather up there in Michigan?! It was cool seeing you, too, chick! Hope you make it back soon, we really do have to do a jump together! angela. -

Come to DeLand and jump, I won't tell anyone... I was actually there last Sunday... I didn't jump, though, and no one asked how many jumps I had... so, I lucked out I will be back in Deland soon, though. Probly in the next few months. ... I'll see you b4 then, tho:) angela. -
Airborne03,.. do you have any pics of your suit? I'd love to see it. :) I just ordered from Nancy at Ouragan, too. I gotta say, she is probably one of the coolest people i've ever met! So enthusiastic:) And, all of the suits i've seen of hers around have been major nice. She seems like she pays a lot of attention to detail, and encourages the customer to create their own design. I saw someone's suit with a tribal on it, and it was pretty cool. I can't wait to get my suit, i'm SO excited! I ordered a 2-piece and and told her that I really wanted the pants to be low-rise, and she was willing to work with anything I had in mind! What an awesome chick! I'll post pix as soon as I get the suit:) Angela.

Javelin Odissey - is it REALLY so COOL to WAIT 21 WEEKS!!!
SkydiveNFlorida replied to potikum's topic in Gear and Rigging
Well, too late now... you were cool with the 20 week wait then, so you'll just have to stick it out. 4 weeks longer isn't much considering it's already been 4 months! Personally, I would not order a jav that would be a 20-24 week waid... but, that's just me. It isn't because I don't think they have a good product,..i'm sure the odyssey is a nice rig. I'm just not a patient person, and there are other good rigs out there, too! -

Sheenster... I drink lots of juices, but only ones that have only juice in them. Not the crap that is loaded with preservatives and shit. I really like Indian River's grapefruit juice... yummy. Kenessaw has awesome OJ. I also used to hate mustard, I forgot about that one! I actually have like 9 types of mustard in my fridge now, lol! jsaxton, Thanks! I might actually have to try grits again. I haven't tried them in years, but remember not liking them. Nightingale, what is Horchata? :) Angela. -
What foods have you grown to love?
SkydiveNFlorida replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in The Bonfire
We all know that tastes change over time... so what foods did you used to dislike and came to love? For me: black olives guava mango oysters I continually try things I don't like again and again. And, sometimes, I surprise myself and actually enjoy them:) I even had a drink with pineapple the other day and thought it tasted pretty good:) Angela. -
Wind tunnels - need your opinions
SkydiveNFlorida replied to skyejumper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
600$/hr or 13$/min I believe. It really can be worth it if you are working on somthing and need to tighten it up. Plus, think of how much it saves teams who train together... the cost of four jump tickets vs shared tunnel time. I haven't been there yet (will be going for the first time at the end of the month), but I can see it as being pretty practical, actually. Angela. -

Well, aren't most men colorblind? lol! j/k -
I am careful to hold the toggles in place as I pull the slider over them. I have velcro risers and they have little tabs you put the brake line in then attach to the velcro. I don't know how great a method this is... but I certainly do not use my slinks to stow the brake line. :) Angela.
