I Owe My Rigger a Bottle!!
SkydiveNFlorida replied to jumperconway's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Can you clarify this for me? You were on your back, but saw another canopy below you? I am not sure I understand. Right on, glad you're ok! Angela. -

Ok, starts with one word... you read the word in the post before yours, and you reply with the first word that comes to your mind. I think it'll be fun to see where this goes.

would you buy a helmet with impact absorbtion?
SkydiveNFlorida replied to hottamaly's topic in Gear and Rigging
I think for what i'm using it for, the helmets on the market are fine. I understand that protecs are more safe... but, well, it's not ALL about safety I'm a bit vain I s'pose Angela -
das ok, Blondie... you can still come play, even if no boogie:) They always have big air sports demos avail:D angela.

Stacy, the boogie is on the 23rd&24th of January... Have fun Phreezone, Fla ROCKS! Angela.

Thanks guys! At first I was wasn't get them at all... i'd initiate, and tumble a bit, and be facing 180 from where I started when I got back to a sit. Then someone told me to tuck in more after initiating, and that helped a lot. Now i'm off maybe 45 from where I start when I get back to a sit. I'm not sure how great they are, they don't feel very controlled. I definitely need work and will keep practicing. :) Angela.

It's funny how taste can differ. I HATE the look of the voodoo and really like the wings. Dave Yep... exactly why it is useless polling a crowd unless on functionality of rig, in which case, I think that most new containers are good. You have to make the decision as to what you like, not go by what others like because everyone has different tastes. Angela.

emergency proceedures - TRAINING WORKED!
SkydiveNFlorida replied to elfanie's topic in Safety and Training
I don't see what difference it makes. Like you said, she didn't succeed in pulling out the pilot chute, and therefore the main pin was left in place keeping the container closed and the bag in. Even after cutting away it doesn't seem it would go anywhere since even if the risers came off they have nothing like a pilot chute to catch enough air to cause enough force to pull the pin. just my thoughts, i'm not expert, either. Yeah!!! I finally have a rig!
SkydiveNFlorida replied to BigWaveDave's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Awesome, man! Congrats on your new (used) rig! I remember how happy I was when I got mine... heck, i'm still happy! Angela -
Dude,... turn off her screen saver. That is SO annoying! Angela.

dunno... new cypres2 is like 1200$ I think... and a new pd reserve is like 800$. = 2000$ How much is it costing you to rent (daily? by the jump?) You gotta do the math yourself, really. . I don't know if it's worth it or not, the other 500$ toward gear rental at 20$/pop give you 25 jumps, but the other 500$ toward gear rental at 60$/dly give you 8 days of jumping, which you could easily get 40+ jumps out of. Sorry if this didn't help but to confuse you. . . sometimes I confuse me, too Also, depending on what size main your starting with, and what you get down to ... will it even fit in the container you bought a reserve for? Or will the container then be too loose. We don't know what you're flying... you could be on a Nav280 and weigh 110lbs for all I know... then you get a container that is huge and end up downsizing signifigantly, and you have brand new gear that fits a 280sf canopy that you fly backwards on in 5mph winds and have outgrown at 60 jumps. Angela.

Well, keep looking. I found one on the forum I had shipped to me that was just a tad too small... then I found the one at Lisa's shop and it was a match made in heaven:D Check out your local dzs, and check ads at places like the gear store in z-hills (what is the name, can't think right now) and other shops. And, of course, keep an eye on the classifieds here.. I purchased everything seperate, I got the container from Lisa... the reserve off of this board, and my main was local. But, there are some sweet combo deals now and again, too... so keep your eyes open:) Don't rush,... good things come to those who wait Hate to end up with gear that doesn't fit you or is too old ... then see something great in 2 weeks. Angela.
