  1. You just answered your own question. So, what can I do? I can't just send out a 120$ calculator because I didn't realize the address had two places to be changed. I already lose 1/2 of what I paid just from auctioning it. I'm not sure what I can do aside from give more of a discount. I don't know what to do, I want to be fair, but it's not fair to me to just send him the calculator without my getting any compensation. You think I should offer it half of what he bid if he doesn't get the money order back? What if he gets it back, but lies and says it was lost? Man, I wish i'd known my address was wrong on there. :( angela.
  2. here's paige's new rig! *hope this works* http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=32600
  3. Without reading the page, I can say no I didn't follow anything. The guy e-mailed me saying he'd purchased elsewhere, blah blah blah, so I pretty much figured I was screwed. He asked me not to leave him neg feedback, and I told him that I don't like to leave neg feedback but he shouldn't bid on items he intends not to purchase. I never said what feedback i'd leave one way or the other. It was pretty much understood that he wasn't going to buy the item, but I didn't think I had much choice. Just cut my losses and resell. Oh, well, I guess there's nothing I can do now. Maybe I should've posted BEFORE I left the feedback
  4. Sharp colors, nathan! Come on people, I know you have pix, so post 'em!!
  5. On another note, I relisted the item and it sold a second time. But, apparently, my 'payment address' was wrong on the system and the money order went to my old condo which my mail is no longer being forwarded from. He mailed the money order right away, so by the time I contacted him after seeing the purchase confirmation, it was too late, it had been sent. The woman who bought the condo is spanish and I don't speak Spanish so I can't very well just go over there. What do I do if the buyer doesn't get his money order back? I know that is the chance you take when you send out a money order, but the loss would of course be my fault because when I changed my personal info on e-bay, I didn't realize that I also needed to change it in another place for payment. So, i've apologized to the new buyer and told him to contact me when he gets the money order back (assuming he does, which could be another problem), and then i'd pay shipping for him. I also told him that if he decides to buy elsewhere due to time constraints, that I understand. But, aside from this, I don't know what else I can do. :( I see a neg feedback coming my way for this one because of the whole address problem. sux:( Angela.
  6. Yes, I know. But, any neg feedback he leaves for me will not be warranted. If he leaves neg feedback for no reason, is there anything I can do to appeal? Or, do I just reply to it? thx all. Angela.
  7. I was selling my ti-86plus calculator on e-bay. The winning bidder sent an e-mail saying they'd be making payment, etc. The next day, they sent another e-mail saying they'd purchased it elsewhere because they needed it fast and felt there would be problems in Florida due to the hurricanes. Obviously, usps has been great and the mail has not skipped a beat, and besides that, my area has been largely unaffected. He asked that I not leave bad feedback. Well, after thinking about it for a week, I decided to leave neg feedback saying that the sale didn't go thru as the buyer decided to purchase elsewhere. I noted, nice, but did not buy. I feel kinda bad, but it is something people should know, right? Thoughts? Did I do the right thing, or am I a jerk? Angela.
  8. lol!!!!!!!!!!! I write "lol" a lot, but it's pretty rare that I actually laugh out loud... this was funny! My boyfriend created a skydiving video to some pretty cool funk music, it was definitely a refreshing change to the same old techno music. Angela.
  9. Alana, I love the colors! I got the same colors on my new (being mfg'd as we speak) Voodoo... Purple, White and Black. OMG, Katie... 300$!!! That's insane, i'm SO jealous! Can't wait to see it so post pix when you get them! Congrads, dd! :) Angela.
  10. I want to look at your new gear while i'm waiting on mine! :D So, whatcha got? Post a pic! Tell us how you like your new gear, and if you have time, why you chose what you did. This could be a cool thread if you all have pictures! :D :) Angela.
  11. -It consumes your time. -You may sound like you've got a disease by the time you're 50 (coughing). -You constantly put the health of others at risk by way of 2nd hand smoke. -Slower healing times from major bone injuries (and probably many other injuries as well). -Smoking weakens the immune system and is linked to cancer. -Sense of smell and taste are affected. .... and, like you mentioned, the smoke smells nasty and it makes you and all of your stuff smell, too. I was cutting down on smoking for many reasons when I met my current SO. He said he didn't like the smell and it turned him off... I have been cigarette free for 1 year now:D GO LIZ!! Kick that nasty shit! Angela.
  12. Which itself would beat the wife being home... Shouldn't you look forward to your wife being home? I don't get it. Why would you be married if you didn't want to see each other. hmm. -A
  13. I went thru the album and those were great pix! It is nice to put some faces with names:) Some very happy couples, too:D How do you make it say something other than the full link when you post? Like "clicky" or something? Anywho, nice pix! This one was one of my favorites!! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Personal_Galleries/chaoskitty/AOT_2004&image=sat_am_weather_hold.jpg&img=&tt=

  15. If they are that low... just skip the panties. :p Angela.
  16. I am feeling better today. It helped a lot getting it out and discussing it with others. I am glad I buried the cat, though, it makes me feel good knowing that it rests in peace. Yes, I had a flying squirrel I acquired when I lived in GA. It was a baby when I got it, and it ended up having some problems (it would have seizures sometimes, and bite down and seize:( ) I was playing video games with my cousin one day, and the squirrel crawled up underneath my leg for warmth. I don't know if it suffocated there, or had a seizure and I didn't feel it, or what... but, when I got up, it was dead underneath me. I'd had it for a year, it was a wonderful pet. I felt awful, cried for a week. We had a burial ceremony for it outside later that day. Cool creatures, though. angela.
  17. Missy, z-hills rents canopies for the day. You could just jump there until you're ready to downsize. I know you have a friend in that area:) I think it's like 15$/day or something, and that's pretty cheap and worth it if you make 3-4+ jumps in a day. I would go that route, if you think you'll be current and ready for the 155 in a few months. Otherwise, order a 170, sell the monarch, and just play with that for a good while:) jmo. Take advantage of the Sunshine Factory! Angela.
  18. I currently own a Javelin TJN and this container really fits lots of diff sized canopies. I just ordered a Voodoo (cooler, imo:p), and as I understand it, they don't downsize nearly as well. But, I don't plan on signifigant downsizing for a long while now. If you plan to downsize a lot and want to keep the same container, the Javelin might be a consideration. Maybe that's what you were asking? If you're just looking for what containers fit what sized canopies, most mfgs list that on their websites. Ordering from dealers will get you a discount, check around, they all have different deals. hth Angela.
  19. Thanks, everyone. I am just taking a mental health day off from work. I think i'll go grab some movies and beer. I am trying not to think about it, but even though it would've maybe been less traumatic to not go back, pretending it ddn't happen... i'm still glad I did go back and try. Poor baby didn't deserve to die in the street. Makes me hope there is something else, maybe reincarnation. Hey, one can always be optimistic, right?:) Thanks to everyone for their kind words. It is a comfort. Angela.
  20. I'm feeling really depressed about this. A small cat (probably just a year old at most) ran in front of my car late last night. The cat must've hit something under my car. I feel like I didn't react quick enough, maybe if i'd stopped quicker it would've lived, or if i'd swirved onto the curb or something. It happened so fast. I stopped and went back, picked up the cat that was almost dead. Tried frantically to find a hospital to save it, but after about 5 minutes, the cat passed as I discovered when I got to the closed "24 hour" animal hospital. I am feeling just awful. We buried the cat and I feel like it was my own pet, even though I hadn't know it. I haven't felt this awful since I buried my flying squirrel probably 10 years ago. I feel like shit and I can't find the will to go to work today. I am not sure why I posted, I think it just helps to talk about it. Thanks for listening. Angela
  21. lol!!! I know how you feel. Material has probably barely been cut for my rig, it'd killing me! Nice rig, Paige! I like the mudflaps! :) Ooo, this will be a loooong 5-6 weeks! I have diff eq to do, it's so hard to concentrate! Pics will surely follow once it comes in:D -Angela
  22. We got lucky again here in Broward County (SE Fla). I feel bad for the rest of the state, I wonder how Lake Wales will do, they're already torn up:( Angela.
  23. Ahh, so you didn't have to wait, though. Anticipation is killer. I bought my first rig (used) at the dropshop in sebastian. Got a good deal, and at the time I had ~25 jumps and I could not have been happier. But, once I got more jumps, I started to dislike the way it felt in freefall. It is a tad big for my build (though I think the height is about right). But, I hear ya, even used is exciting! :) Waiting for custom is killer, tho! I can't concentrate on anything else for too long uniterrupted by thoughts of my new unbuilt voodoo. -A
  24. What was it like when you ordered your first custom rig? Did you think about it all day every day while you waited? Did you wonder if things would come out just as you specified? Did you not even want to jump your old rig anymore? Man, I am DYING to get my new Voodoo! It's killing me.... slowly... I think I might actually explode when it arrives. And, I only ordered it three days ago. Helllllpppp!! Does this go away after a few days, or will it be like this for the next 5-6 weeks until it comes? I'm freakin' out, man! Share your stories, what was it like getting your first custom rig? -A
