  1. Don't overdo pain meds if you can help it. They are REALLY harsh on your stomach. Angela (who has 5 ulcers and used to take advil and aleve all the time!)
  2. Well, I got 50% bitch... which means i'm 50% non-bitch. That's pretty damned good I think! Angela.
  3. I'm not a fitness freak, but the only cure to soreness, ime, is to work out more often. If you just did your first today, go back when the pain is bearable or in 3 days, whichever comes first. And, a nice hot epsom salt bath is really nice for sore muscles:) Angela
  4. You only need 12" to donate. It isn't really all that much. I cut of 12" to donate and still had hair below the shoulders. I hear ya on the same old long hair thing. Then, when it comes out a little in freefall, and you have to spend 30 minutes brushing through it later on... ugh! I am thinking of cutting mine a bit, too, but thing is you want to have enough to bun it, or short enough to put under your helmet i'd suppose. I don't want that odd length that makes everything complicated. I think i'm just too used to seeing myself with long hair (below shoulders), I don't know if I could cope with it short, lol! Good luck! Angela .
  5. Voodoo are 5-6 weeks i'm told. :) Angela
  6. I don't know the prices on those, but I really like the Neptune! It is so accurate under canopy and it is very easily readable in freefall, too. Plus, it has other cool features to stare at on the plane ride. And, it's very low profile, not a big clunky thing on your wrist. :) Angela.
  7. There are plenty of master riggers out there who add bridal coverage to older rigs, etc., and no one is revoking anyone's ticket for it. So, where exactly is the line? What is OK for a master rigger to do, and what is not? I can't see a master rigger putting his ticket on the line to do a 20$ mod. Angela.
  8. Why w/o the cut ins? What don't you like about them? Just curious. thx. Angela.
  9. Thanks, Mel! :D I can't wait to get it, the wait, however short, is murder! Love your new rig. You match so well girly! I'm very happy for you. :D Thanks for posting! Hope we see you back here in Fla soon! Angela.
  10. The g4 looks more boxy than the g3, maybe. I think, if it were between the two for me, i'd probably go with the g3 because to me it looks better (between those two pix). I'm sure it's all personal preference, though... i'm sure there are some who like the look of g4 better (although maybe not in this thread). Angela.
  11. wow, Lisa, that's terrible! :( Best of luck to you in Cali. It sure sux that it's been such a terrible season you've had to endure. I've lived here most of my life and never seen anything that compares to this. Not much will prepare you for something this bad I don't suppose. Take care. Angela.
  12. I'm sure they can give you a different deployment bag, right? Anyone have pix of the g3 and g4? I would like to see them both for comparison. Not buying a Mirage, just curious:) -A
  13. Depends on the person, but in general, I think you're going to get a yes on that. Talk to people at your dz and make your decision based on what they say. They have seen you fly and know better than anyone on here does. I had no problem flying a 150 at your number of jumps, but everyone is different. I don't think 'any zp is a hp canopy' is widely accepted. I hightly doubt Sebastian would've put me out on a high performance canopy on my 1st jump (started on a Sabre 190). -A
  14. lol!! You got that right! Man, that's an original. I didn't know they designed stuff like that. Pretty cool they did that for you! -A
  15. Ohhh:( Was it because of the hurricanes? They sure do suck. Take care, Lisa! It was great to meet you. Probably be seeing you sometime in Cali! :) Angela.
  16. Ok, you and Revjim need to come back and post your pix in this thread once you get your rigs in! It'll be cool, like a new gear pic database:D Thanks, Bkdice, now I have seen you all in flight:D -A
  17. You're next to Alana, or on the other side.? It's hard to tell which is tie dye. Ooo, I wanna see mel's new rig, too! I hope she sees this thread and posts a pic:D Cool, Nathan, i'm sure i'll see you around soon. Have fun with your new stuff in Houston! I hear jumps are pretty cheap there:D Angela.
  18. Nice rig! Man, you owed some major beer for that jump! lol! Um, you're like, um... uh... naked n stuff. ... but, I'll probably be naked the first time I put my rig on, too Angela.
  19. Dinner 1 : Spinach pasta (4pm) Dinner 2 : Hot dog (6pm) snack : brownie (6:30pm) Dinner 3 : egg salad (very soon cuz i'm getting hungry again) Oh, man, this looks bad all typed out. I had stir fry for lunch, so that was healthy. Angela.
  20. That's SICK! I had to get rid of my dogs and hated it! I took the time to find homes for them both, one in central Fla. I drove up there, interviewed them, checked out the place, made sure my dog and theirs got along, etc, etc. The other not far from here, but also interviewed, checked pet compatibility, etc. It is irresponsible and just plain cruel to do anything else. Especially put the animal out just because it's an inconvenience. Meanie! :( Angela.
  21. I took Scott's course at about 30 jumps and his "essential skills" course sounds like exactly what you are looking for. He goes through landing patterns, and how to move them/alter them with different wind patterns. As well as flat turns, stall recovery, flying with the wind from a long spot, and a general assessement of your landing skills via video. He'll answer questions for you and he'll give you landing and setting up tips after viewing your videos. I highly recommend that you go that route for your first canopy course.:) And, since you're in Florida, you won't have to travel too far:D Once you're ready for a lesson in canopy flight, swooping, and an understanding of how a parachute flies and reacts to input as well as psychology of the skydiver... check out one of Brian Germain's seminars. He's another great resource and is very easy to approach! I have attended several of Brian's seminars and spent time with him one on one, he's an excellent mentor! Angela. p.s. never stop learning. I can't wait to spend more time with Brian! If you find a good resource in your area, take advantage!
  22. That was the hardest for me, too. Even after I quit, i'd go to the occassional bar and light up one or two. Now I can't even imagine ruining my beer with that shit. Quitting makes sense, and the cravings do eventually go away. Just remember how bad it tastes and how bad it is for you when you crave one. :o) angela.
  23. Thanks angela I'm really happy with with how everything turned out, can't wait for tomorrow when I get back in the air and try out my jumpsuit. Where you guys jumping these days? Right on! Did you get an Ouragan? Love to see pix when you have 'em. Mostly Clewiston since all the hurricanes f*d up Lake Wales :( Say hi if you come out! I'll be there this Saturday. You jumping in Deland lately? I thought you lived in Ft. Laud. Deland is cool, but SOOOO far from here. Angela.
  24. I really like the purple webbing with the red tape on the front. Funny, it doesn't match I don't think, but I actually like the combination of the colors there. Where is the vortex made? Kelly, I don't know what kind of rig that is of Paige's, i'm sure someone with more experience than me can identify it:) I'm not too good with that. A vector maybe? There's no pop top, so it's not a javelin Angela.
  25. Thanks. I guess at this point there isn't much to be done, though. I'll definitely seek help next time around. What do you think of the second scenario I posted (2nd time I sold it, some problems on my end with address)?> Angela.
