  1. To pair with dessert, I would choose the White Russion because a Mudslide IS a dessert. -A
  2. I'm with Val. I do not think tan lines are anything but an annoyance that is unavoidable when tanning on the beach here. I would tan naked if no one would stare or bother me. Of course, realisically, i'm too pale to tan nicely, anyhow:P jmo, tan lines look tacky. -A
  3. Relaaaax, Wendy:) It'll all work out. Overnight ~= overnight, so maybe you'll get them tomorrow? (Does mail run on New Years?) Footed PJs, hehe, those would be cute! Hammering & nailing, huh? Whatcha makin'? -A
  4. The rig is very old, i'm sure they are just starting the bidding low, it will probably go up, but not by the thousands;o) Besides, they have listed serial #'s, too. I don't know how to check them, but i'm sure there is a way. :) A
  5. Funny, I have nothing in temporary internet files. Maybe my computer doesn't store them?? -- I'm alright, Liz, how you doin' up in cold-country? You ever coming back down to visit us in Fla? -A
  6. grrr. My computer SUCKS!! Why can't I save a jpg file? Ok, just venting, carry on. -A
  7. Ok, I guess i'll still come, then. I know whatever you put together will be a blast! :) -A
  8. Well, who oversaw the woman? If she was your wife's employee, then your wife should have been the one to let her go. It gets hard when you work with family. I worked at a company that had a husband-wife, a nephew, a sister, sister's friend, etc. It is hard when you have more than one boss. It sounds like she was a shitty employee, and you felt it jeopardized your business, and yet, instead of addressing your concerns with her boss (your wife) you just let it go because she was your wife's employee. Not very business-like, this needed dealing with (ie, firing) before it got down to christmas party drama. But, you did not agree. You said yourself that you felt she was a lawsuit waiting to happen. I understand respect for your wife, but I think that if you are both going to be in it together, you should make those decisions together. I would hope that if it were me I would respect my husband's opinion about something so important, and let her go. It's over, done, and it sounds like she certainly deserved to be fired. It just sounds to me like this should definitely have been dealt with sooner. Good luck on your employee hunt. I hope you find someone who you are both pleased with. :) -A
  9. Man, accurate shipping, that's a rarity these days j/k -A
  10. NOOOOOOO!!! You can't take the trampoline away, I was SO looking forward to that! What is the substitution, a mechanical bull or something. I think you should keep the trampoline, it will be so fun (and, letting children (at heart) down at xmas is bad, Wendy! ) See you soon! -A edit to add : YAY Hirams is back!!
  11. Then you should have fired her months ago or given her a warning. I'm sorry, but it sounds like your neighbors were holding their party at the same time as yours, correct? If that is the case, how does her preference of where to spend her time make a difference? You were going to pay her to not work at your party, right? That is a poor excuse for a reason to fire someone. This is why I will never work at a company where relatives are the management again, it is too much drama. Yes, not attending the party was grounds for immediate dismissal the day before Christmas. That lying thief! Oh, wait, that's right, this is a drama excuse for dismissal. Then, you should have fired her months ago. Your practice, your decisions, but since your are asking, I think you did a poor job with handling this situation. JMO. -A
  12. Guess I hadn't thought of that Man, I haven't jumped on a trampoline in YEARS! I am so excited. I hope I can push enough people out of the way so that I can get a spot:D You should inform people in advance about how many people can be on at once, there has to be a weight limit and it'd be terrible if this thing was broken. Maybe there is no limit, though, just a thought. Only a few days away, YAY!! I feel like I haven't jumped in a century, missing a weekend is horrible! -A
  13. Are you guys likely to order Pizza in, or should everyone plan to bring food or go out? I got my pj's, so i'm ready to partay! -A
  14. I am currently a student in community college studying Chemical Engineering. I am a 3rd year jr college student and will have 86 credits come May. I work in IT and started as a Computer Sci major as I enjoyed it for a while. It got old, and I decided to change my major to Pharmacy because they were making some bux w/o a great deal of school. But, after a while I realized I couldn't see myself working long hours standing and dealing with Medicare patients. I had taken some Chemistry and Math and I decided to gear myself toward Engieering. I have thought of switching, but I am excited about it now. I am not sure where i'll be in Fall '05, but it won't be South Florida anymore. I enjoy science and (some) math, and I am excited about studying more! -A
  15. Those are good points! I didn't think much about the rankings divided amongst undergrad vs ph.d schools. Thanks for your reply. Val, maybe i'll end up there. I will have to convince Rory first! :D -A
  16. Thanks, everyone! I am still trying to figure out which other schools to apply to. I am finding that I may have too many credits for some schools (Berkeley?), I hope not, I guess it depends on what they consider "Transferrable". Unfortunately, they pretty much say they won't answer that . I just dropped one course next semester, but I will still come out with 86 credits at the end of next semester. So, I have to hope that 7 of those are non-transferrable. As far as life in Indiana, I was kinda worried about the lack of it. I don't think I really want to be in the middle of nowhere, but once I find out what schools i've been accepted to I will make trips around the country to visit them and speak with counselors, etc. I am also concerned about Financial Aid, Rose-Hulman is very expensive. -A
  17. I don't know shit about Indiana.... So, why the "It IS Indiana.." reference? I am guessing this is not just about the freezing weather. Enlighten me Ahegeman, What is your little sister studying? Harvey-Mudd, eh? I'll look that one up. Sounds like you enjoyed your experience there. I want to get into a school that is not just theory, but practice. One that also has good co-ops, etc. I don't want to get out of school with a Chem Engineering degree and no idea how to use it. Thanks guys, -A
  18. Don't think it's named for a chick. Matter of fact, it was an all-male school until '95. I am not sure how I feel about that right yet. -A
  19. Man, i'm scared! Sounds like a blast, Wendy! Now, I might have to go buy a pj set -A
  20. Does anyone reside near this area? (Terre Haute, IN) The school looks very good, and it is listed on the top five engineering schools where M.S. is highest degree by US News. I am wondering how bad life would be if I moved to this area? Is this a town of nothingness? Would my boyfriend be able to find a job near here? (IT unix, sun, etc) And, are there any decent dzs in driving distance? I have already been accepted into this school for Fall '05, but I don't need to decide until June 1st. I have other applications in warmer climates, but I want to hear about this school/place if anyone knows. Thanks! -A
  21. But, Phree said that measured by the same methods, they would be about equal (the 170 tempo and 160 pd). I think that a reserve is a matter of preference and comfort. If you are unconscious under your reserve, it is pretty likely you will get hurt regarless of w/l. Now, of course, the faster you go, the more hurt that could be. It is a matter of a persons willingness to risk that chance. I don't think flying a reserve signifigantly smaller than your main is all that smart. I wonder why many containers are made that way. ... Anyhow, if he flies a 160 main, then he's probably pretty comfortable with the size. In the end, one should demo their reserve since they offer it. (of course, I didn't, but I had flown my pd126 already before buying the pd113.) -A
  22. You know, i'm contemplating that. But, then in the summer when I don't wear the top and just jump in a tank or slim shirt the velcro might be annoying. If you do it, definitely put the rougher part on the shirt. I have an ouragan suit and the top tucks in really nicely and it is made extra long so it won't come out. I have never had a problem in freefall, but it did come up in the tunnel! Thankfully I was wearing so many layers that no one got a show -A
  23. Man, i'm liking the idea of logging many jumps at once. I think i'll just use one box per weekend like many are doing, that should save me some writing (which I hate!). Thanks:D -A
