You could always say a family member was arrested outta town, and that you posted bail and have to go retrieve them. Or, say that your pet is sick and the vet says it cannot be left alone. Some Steven Wright one-liners that I love... 1.Four years ago... No, it was yesterday. Today I... No, that wasn't me. Sometimes I... No, I don't. 2. I like cuddle time I like to fall asleep in each others arms, or at least almost to sleep b4 uncuddling. That's a really funny ad... I just use pillows, tho.. softer... plus, for a single chick, having one of those things is like a tease, it's so real you could accidentally wake up in the middle of the night in attack modelol! Not willing to break anything, lol!! I hear ya on not buying, but renting it so damn expensive, it is costing like 40$/jump!~! In 225 skydives i'll have spent 4500$ renting gear, whereas if i'd buy gear, i'd not be dealing with rentals, and i'd have something to trade in/sell later to get something I want more... or I could just get a smaller canopy assuming my container isn't too darn large. I'm thinking by the time I save up, I could buy a rig with like a 150sf main, ... once I get my 'a', I could start jumping a 170 main and get used to it, then after I can afford to buy, I can downsize and just be really conservative with landings., Also, I am going to take some canopy coaching with Scott Miller soon, and then probly each time I downsize. ... don't know if this is realistic, but i'm sure i'll find out soon (someone will correct me i'm sure)> Um, I know i'd lose that 1.27$, so i'm gonna have to say no to that bet, lol.!! It is very weird. I have met several people that have done dives, but don't feel the need/want to do more. My girlfriend did a tandem, and that was it for her, no desire to be back in the sky, just likes to say she did it. Me, I did my first jump 6 wks ago and can't imagine being without it now. I guess I have less receptors, or low levels of happy chemicals, then. fwiw, I used to be on SSRI's, but stopped taking them a while back because I stopped liking the idea of being on drugs all the time. I didn't start jumping til well after that, tho, and prior to jumping I did hit some holes where i'd get really depressed over $$ problems, or loneliness, etc. It's only been 6 weeks, but i've been handling stress & $$ problems (bound to happen when u skydive) better than before I started jumping. Hey there! Congrads on your decision to make the dive,... you should do whatever you feel best with. I did aff1 as my first jump, but I felt very comfortable about it, figured i'd do well, and counted on loving it. And, I was comfortable, did well, and loved it! haha. But, many people do aff1 as their first jump, and end up getting a sensory overload thing, ... either way, the jumpmasters will pull for you if need be, so you'll be fine as long as you listen well about canopy control. I can't comment on a tandem as i've never done one. Good luck whatever your decision! Angela.

If I stop skydiving and eat lightly for the next 2 months, I can almost afford a used rig,... if I keep with it 'til christmas, I can almost afford a new one!! I think I can make it through next weekend without going cuz I just got back from a skydiving vacation in Deland.... but, i'm not sure how long i'll be able to stay away, and it's not good to not be current, and i'm close to getting the 'a' license requirements completed. . . maybe better off not jumping, tho, cuz gear rental sux and eats $! Ok, just wanted to vent. Had a blast in Deland! Also visited Z-Hills:D Hope I can stay away from the DZs! Angela.

You cancel your plane tickets and trip to see the family, and end up taking a road trip to the next nearest DZ. You budget the month by cutting out food and drinks from your diet, supplementing in ice chips, grain alcohol, and jump tickets. You begin to care about your beacon score because good credit translates into $$ for gear. You don't even mention your weekend of jumping, and the first thing your friends ask was how skydiving went that weekend. Angela.
